Can anyone from Dutch (or knows Dutch) explains what's going on from this video?
I can somewhat, I watched the show. This video is however what happened shortly after the show, so this wasn't on television. I'm no expert on the subject, but this is what I think I know about it: In the show, the disappearance of Natalee Holloway was discussed. This is an american girl who disappeared on Aruba (there was even a dr. Phil episode about this). The last known person to have seen her is Joran van der Sloot, a Dutch boy who lived on Aruba with his parents (Aruba belonged to the Netherlands, and I believe they speak dutch there). When he was questioned by the police, Joran van der Sloot told them a story that turned out to be a lie. The story he currently claims to have happened involves him leaving the girl on her own at the beach at night. Joran was the main suspect, but wasn't charged. Peter R. de Vries is a dutch 'crime reporter' and hosts a very well known tv program in the Netherlands where he exposes criminals, unknown facts about crimes and many more. He is convinced that Joran is responsible for the disappearance (after all, why would he have lied?) and went to visit him on Aruba to ask him questions. Joran obviously didn't comply. Now that it turned out that Joran wasn't being charged, Joran and his parents agreed to talk to Peter R. de Vries on a well known show about the disappearance. Peter R. de Vries asked lots of questions about why Joran lied, and other things he thought were curious about the case. After the show was over Joran threw wine in Peter R. de Vries' face. Later Joran stated that during the show he became more and more annoyed by Peter and he had to let it out.

There are only 7 left and I want 2008 to be the big year. Let's finish! I intend to do all myself if I have to, but I really hope to motivate some folks to join in and help :)
Well, 3 of the 7 are already bolded so that is about half already (I'll promise you zelda second quest will be done before 2009 ;). I can somewhat see why the ones that haven't been done or bolded yet haven't been done... so good luck with those if it comes down to you having to do them :P

I must profess... 0 Star 4TW... I mean NO ONE expected it to happen..
I thought it was bound to happen right from the start... I was always wondering why people were working on small improvements... Anyway, I think the way this list was composed (selecting the winner for each console) is not really the best way... I think the list could have been better. S3&K was nice, but like moozooh said:

S3&K would definitely be the TAS of 2006
It's nice that Mario 64 can be completed with 0 stars now, but besides that fact, it wasn't due to a really new glitch (only something used slightly different or on another location), and the rest was the same with some parts skipped. Super Mario Bros was only nice because it was an improvement to a movie which mny people thought was unimprovable. The new glitch itself wasn't particularly entertaining visually (or you must get a huge kick out of NOT seeing the flag animation), and the rest of the run was exactly the same (and besides the fact that mario is well known, I don't think the game in particular is great for TASing). I don't mean to put down klmz at all... I think he did a great job as far as you can do with this game, but for instance his journey to silius movie far better, and I would have liked it a lot better if that movie was listed here instead of this one. To be perfectly honest, I was surprised that super mario bros was even nominated for best nes TAS... the fact that it got the most votes just baffles me. I like the 100% SNES metroid a little better than the 100% GBA metroid, so my vote goes to super metroid.

Makes sense, but in the future it might be worth additionally nominating the winners of each console category, for the award of TASer of the Year.
I disagree with this, for the reason why this was not done. I think it shows it is a bad idea in the current "TAS of 2007" poll... I don't think the list that was formed that way was the best possible list.

http://www.nekogames.jp/mt/2008/01/cursor10.html You have to try 1 or 2 times to figure out what you are supposed to do, but then you'll see it's a pretty cool concept :)

Inzult told me quite a long time ago that he stopped with this TAS, so he's not working on it anymore. I'd really like to see a TAS of this though, so I'm pleased to hear that you want to make the TAS, good luck :)

I still don't think 3 red tetrisses will happen, but I just did a failed attempt which could be called somewhat serious: http://ccgi.gdward.plus.com/cgi-bin/tetris/index.php?replay=5719 (At least, I didn't get killed right away, and the idea was visible... I think with more attempts it could be technically possible, but the chances of getting 3 red blocks right at the start are very very slim. As in this game, 4 red blocks are even way better than 3 red blocks, since you can build somewhat of a fundation at the start, but the chances of getting 4 red blocks at the start are obviously even smaller.)

For Snes9x, go to "input", then "customize hotkeys", there you should be able to assign any keys you want to speed up and speed down. I still recommend using the snes9x version I linked in my post though.

How do I adjust the game speed, like + and - in Mupen64? >_>
Your question was about Mupen 64, not Snes9x... Either way, if you want the Snes9x that is able to play back the movies from this site (this version also has slowdown)... you can get it here.

Go to options, then to settings, then to hotkeys. You can assign any hotkeys you like to speed up and speed down there. Btw, why is this question in the Snes9x forum?

Probably not nearly as cool (but a lot more possible) is making a hack of an existing game, which is designed while keeping it mind it should look as cool as possible for a TAS.

Legend of the ghost lion Adventure of lolo 3 Silver surfer
Nitrodon already finished a Lolo3 movie, although (I think) he didn't submit it since he knew a possible improvement. I wouldn't recommend Silver surfer, autoscrollers aren't very suited for TASing, unless you are able to pull something really crazy. I don't know Legend of the ghost lion...

I like nearly all runs in this list, and I like them all about equally much. MM2X gets the vote, since at this point, it had 0 votes, so it deserved my vote more than the others.

Voting for the 100 CD run. The glitches are what made this run a LOT more enjoyable than the previously published run.

I think the same as most of the people, Cardboard gets my vote, but the others did great too.

I vote for Ninja Gaiden 2, very action packed :) (And also need to mention "warpless" Super Mario Bros. 2 which was also great. And to be honest, I also enjoy watching Super C a lot.)

Also going for journey to Silius, dancing was great (more dancing would have been even better), and the autoscroller was also very enjoyable.

I vote MM, very well planned out, entertaining, and not similar to something that existed at the time. The others were good too though.

It's not faster for a multitude of reasons. - The charge beam isn't loaded yet at that point (jumping over over enemy charges it for a large part). - Even if it was loaded, you would also need to shoot two other shots, which would, together with the charged shot would at least require 2 jumps. - Starman can't be hit with an uncharged shot in the beginning because of his shield. - Starting the battle with a charged shot saves like 80 frames right away, this is a lot more than the jump costs.

I'm finally done with the second level, Gravityman.

Starman (39 frames saved)
Saved a few more frames at Starman, and the Starman level is now 46 frames faster! I also saved a whole bunch of frames at the Gravityman level... not only due to lag reduction and subpixel optimization, but also a few new strategies. In the end, I saved 103 frames at Gravityman, so a total of 149 frames are improved over the published version... a lot more than I thought was possible since it was quite optimal already, so I'm quite happy :) Edit: Added a WIP. Comments are very welcome.

Now that the 100 CD run was published before 2008, it could be nominated for the glitchy TAS category, or the SNES TAS category.

I enjoyed watching it, so I'll vote yes. I would however like the movie better if you include the extra levels...
