I agree with Arc in how stopping a movie earlier than people would suspect is ok. In Rocket Knight Adventures, you just have to live long enough against the final boss. So, I dodged his moves until there was enough time left for me to just sit there and take all his hits and still win, so I stopped my movie probably 30 seconds or so early. The character just sits there and takes damage, but the game is still won, albeit I only had 1/2 heart left. I think that that should be part of the competition between movies, seeing who can stop it earlier and still beat the game.

I've never heard of that problem before. Can't you just drag and drop the link into the address bar? That's how it works for me and everybody else.

Thanks a ton to Jyzero and everybody else who helped. I've redone level 1 (again) and not only is it an additional 4 seconds faster, it works without messing with the sound. So you all can play this movie with the luxury of sound. Level 1 - 3:07.78 Level 2 - 8:26.38 http://dannyfowler.150m.com/gens_movies/castlevania_bloodlines.zip

Yeah, i've seen many an arguement about the order of the Zelda games. And i've also found that i'm the only person who thinks that Link's Awakining takes place during the 7 (I believe) year sleep in OoT.

Nifboy: It likes me, because it works for me. It's too bad it doesn't like anybody else :P I worked around the system and uploaded a zip, so try this now. If this doesn't work, the only thing I can think of is that my webspace is corrupting the .gmv, even though it didn't do that to any other movies. I've tried the movie on 4 or 5 different roms, and it's worked on all of them. http://dannyfowler.150m.com/gens_movies/cv.zip

Try it now. I redid level 1, and not only is it 3 seconds faster, but I think it looks a bit cooler :P http://dannyfowler.150m.com/gens_movies/castlevania_bloodlines_expert_lecarde_v2_dan_.gmv

I downloaded the rom from 2 different sites, and the movie worked on both of them. It appears that my movie changed when going from my computer to ya'll's. I've re-uploaded it, so try downloading it again and hopefully it'll work. If not, can you please tell me where it desyncs, like the stage (as found in the top right corner)? Then I could start recording again from there and hopefully it'll work next time.

I just checked the rom in GoodGen 0.999.8, and I got... nothing. I was using a good rom, "Castlevania_-_Bloodlines_(U)_[!].bin," exactly as I said before. I just played the movie and it worked perfectly for me. I'll figure this out...

Tides of Time is the sequel, aka Ecco 2. He's time attacking Ecco 1. I used "ECCO_(U)_[!].bin" and it worked perfectly.

Hopefully you'll accept Expert mode runs, because i've already started :P These times are measured as soon as your sprite stops moving after you get the orb. Level 1 - 3:14.81 http://dannyfowler.150m.com/gens_movies/castlevania_bloodlines_expert_lecarde_v1_dan_.gmv The rom used is Castlevania_-_Bloodlines_(U)_[!].bin

Zero Wing, only because of the famous intro that you'll probably skip when playing for speed.

Bisqwit, do you accept movies that use a button combination to access something in the beginning, in this case the "expert" difficulty? I just read in a different thread that you've rejected movies because of using codes, so I want to make sure I can still submit my movie before I make it.

I recorded myself beating it on easy, and it took me 1:37.56. All I did was make a bee-line to the Black Knight and dominate him. If any of you people want to see the movie, here it is. http://dannyfowler.150m.com/gens_movies/dark_castle_v1_dan_.gmv Edit: Here's a movie for the Hard mode of the game. It's a bit longer, at 3:07.2 and it involves me getting the shield before dominated the Black Knight. There are some spots for improvement, such as Trouble 2 and I also ended it with 2 elixers left, and instead of doing that, I could have used them to save time or not picked them up at all. Here's the link. http://dannyfowler.150m.com/gens_movies/Dark_Castle_v2_dan_.gmv The rom used is "Dark_Castle_(U)_[!].bin"

I actually got through there once without disabling the layers. Took me a heck of a long time just wandering back and forth with no way to tell which way I was going, but I did it.

Ok, I've figured it out. This game has 3 difficulty levels, starting at easy and working up to hard. Once you kill the Black Knight on easy, it goes to normal, kill him again and it goes to hard, kill him again and it loops back to easy. It's up to you guys whether or not you want to see me beat it on just easy, or play through all 3 difficulties. It can be beaten pretty quickly on easy, appx. 5 minutes at most, but once you get to hard, it takes about 5 minutes just to kill the Black Knight. I'll do which ever you want, just tell me soon so I can get started :)

I'm planning to do a run for this game, only because it is known by some people as "the worst Genesis game ever". However, the only problem is that I haven't figured out how to beat it yet. I can beat all the rooms, and i'm assuming that the end of the game is supposed to be after you kill the Black Knight, but that would mean that the room where you get the fireball is completely useless, because I "beat" the game without it. I will do some more research and hopefully solve my problem.

If you want to play a Final Fantasy game, i'd go with FF3j for NES. You can find a patch or a prepatched version pretty easily. It is easily the best FF game for the NES, and probably the best RPG on the NES, too. Heck, I could say it's the best game for the NES.

Finally finished with a time of 9:20.73. There are a few spots for improvement, but under 9 minutes would be amazing. The link the the .gmv is in the first post.

Yeah, the only reason I do that is so that I can hit them at the earliest possible time. I don't play with sound on, so the noise factor doesn't effect me at all :)

On flat surfaces, it's faster to slide, but when going uphill you should jump, and going downhill you walk.

Well, there's no hint anywhere of the glitch in Wizards and Warriors where you can warp back to level 1, but that movie is still here. I think you should still submit it, at least as a suppliment.

I am currently working on a speed run (or time attack, or whatever you want to call it) for Strider for Genesis. This is probably one of the tougher games i've played, the first time I played through it it took me 2 continues, and that was with save states. Anyways, here are my times so far, more will be added as I progress. Level 1 - 1:28 Level 2 - 3:26 Level 3 - 5:13 Level 4 - 6:17 http://dannyfowler.150m.com/gens_movies/strider_v1_dan_.gmv The rom I have is Strider_(UE)_[!].bin
