This was much nicer than before. I still would like to see if it can be improved by prioritizing low-hanging aliens (smaller missile distance) over the far ones until they've done one dropping-down turn at the edge. (I do realize you can't clean them entirely horizontally, and that wasn't my point earlier either.)

I think someone is overreacting. You raise valid points, but you pepper them with what appears to be so much hatred towards the site, that your message may be easily lost. Personally I like the concept of the AVGN tag; it's just an extra tidbit of information for AVGN fans. People who have watched his reviews may want to see what exactly the game is about, and how a perfect player might do. Presentation of the tag might be a completely different thing. It is now elevated into a much more important role than it should be.

Wow. I don't know anything about how optimal this may or may not be... But, how does mr. Bond's car at around 8-10 minutes keep traction at such high speeds? I know it's Bond and he has special equipment... But that's just insane. But there might be appropriate place for the MST3K Mantra. At 13:10... Is that assassin copied from Half-Life, or did Half-Life copy James Bond? In general, the FPS scenes are a bit 'meh' to watch, especially with the frequent loading of new scenes... In any case, it's probably a wonderful addition to the selection of movies.

I think this can be done faster. You want the aliens to come closer towards your firing range (so the missiles travel a shorter distance), which should optimally be achieved by 1) shooting as many aliens as possible as quickly as possible and 2) ensuring at least one alien remains on both extremes of sides. I presume that you should eliminate the aliens in a horizontal progression (scanlines) rather than columns like you did here. I.e. priority levels would go something like this (with "1" being first-class target): 7 6 6 6 6 7 5 5 5 5 5 5 4 4 4 4 4 4 3 3 3 3 3 3 2 2 2 2 2 2 1 1 1 1 1 1

Here's wishing for Riddle of the Sphinx -- possibly 100% completion in mode 3 if applicable. Luck manipulation may be necessary, because some traders like to steal stuff rather than giving them. Hmm, I see no reason to not pick items that appear due to reasons beyond the player's control. I don't know where that kind of thing would happen, but the submission message says:
don't pick up items. They can indeed still drop from projectiles for example.

Yes, any hit grants invulnerability for some time
Allright. Because in a pinch, where you really don't want to kill one enemy that is approaching you, you can hit another one (that does not die) and thus get past the weaker one with the invulnerability without harming it.

The bats and ravens appear to have been discussed already extensively... You shouldn't do shortcuts at the cost of enemies dying. As was the lack of critical hits in the mummy boss. In the death boss (stage 15), it appeared to be somewhat arbitrary when you would kill the scythes and when you would not. Otherwise, nice. I like this objective. Looks like the developers did not anticipate someone leaving the candles alone in the dracula fight. It looks nasty with the blinking.

I like it. The play quality is very high, and it lets one see a bit more of the game than in the "normal" TAS.

I started from scratch, and it took... I guess about 1,5 hours if I read file timestamps correctly. Huh. Longer than I thought. This page should be useful. http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/NES/Rockman/Data.html It contains the movement speed information, among other things.

Mega Man's speed in air is slower (1 + 5/16 pixels per frame) than his speed when walking (1 + 6/16 pixels per frame). Which means that any time your goal is to progress horizontally, you should minimize the time spent in air. Just in case I don't know what I am talking about I made a comparison video myself. This is not a competition; I just wanted to verify whether I know what I am talking about. The comparison is here. From the music you can see neither video was sped up. The one below is mine. Link to video Note: I did not use RAM watch or subpixel optimizations in this test. Though the bulk of the difference in the end comes from differences in route selections (those "landed in wrong direction" things I mentioned), you can also observe the differences in those small things if you are careful. You were right about the enemies and taking damage.

Back then, many of those box arts were actually available as high-quality posters. I have a poster of the Duck Tales box, and some other too, I think. You might want to look for such posters.

Hello. Congratulations on your first TAS experiment! I would say one thing: Accuracy. In this video you had many jumps that were overshot. Sometimes less noticeable, sometimes more noticeable. Jumps that were taller than they should, jumps that landed in a different direction than you were going in the next screen, and jumps around the ledges where you were not falling past the ledge's edge at the first possible frame. And maybe another: Consistency. Either you kill an enemy, or you take damage and pass through. Don't try the first and fail, and then go for the second option, like you did with the last enemy before the boss's gate. Commit for one option and follow through with it. If it turns out to be impossible, undo the whole commitment and choose another option.

I have only played FF4, FF5, FF6, CT, ToP, and SO [Star Ocean], and watched through the TASes of Earthbound, Illusion of Gaia, and some others. Out of these I think my overall favourite is FF5. But FF4 had the most emotional moments, CT had the largest replay value, and either ToP or SO had the best music, I don't remember which.
