But if posting isn't doing the job as you claim
I don't read all posts in all threads. If something is directed to me, and it isn't a reply to my earlier message in the same thread, the best way to get it through is to /msg it to me in IRC. But I don't speak on behalf of the other publishers.

Maza has encoded many movies without informing any publishers about it -- often when the movie isn't even accepted yet. Posting about it on the forums does not accomplish that.

I asked Bisqwit about Aqfaq's run of Gods, which was approved by Truncated and encoded by Guybrush, and he said "I was hoping someone else would publish it."
And I'm wondering why it still hasn't happened. It's not likely the others have the same reason as I do. This is the only case where that applies. There are no other movies that are not being published despite having been encoded. (At least that I know.) It is not a general direction.

You'll see one of the biggest backlashes ever. People will be making and distributing their own versions of the runs without all the stuff and then the videos that people link to and pass around will have nothing indicating they're really a TAS! The current disclaimer, although short, is also very non-invasive, and the more invasive we try to make it the more encouraged other people will be to make versions without our markers. At what point are we no longer spinning our wheels in the mud and are sliding back down the hill?
PRECISELY the reason why I have tried to keep the video content as unmodified (from the emulator output) as possible.

Looks like my hint "I will help you leave" wasn't strong enough. I'll make it stronger. And lock this thread. Ps: If you circumvent it by creating a new profile, I will delete the profile and IP-ban you. Edit: And so you did. And so I did.

I can help you leave. But I won't do that, because you're welcome to come back any time you want. Just it'd be nice if you only do it after you've learned the lesson you've been taught (but which you have so far astonishingly considered rubbish).

I'm a big fan of the way you speedrunned Rockman 1.
Yes, but that's quite unrelated to this topic. Anyway I think we have established everything we need in this topic: #1. Mr. Shining Shinryuu is lazy #2. Dragon Warrior cheat codes can be found easily with a Google search, as demonstrated by mr. Swedishmartin #3. Mr. Shining Shinryuu does not tell what he spent that those 4 hours doing (see #2.) #4. Some cheat codes were already found. The rest can be searched by mr. Shining Shinryuu should he see need. I'm locking this thread.

I don't get it. You didn't think to google "gameshark, dragon warrior" when looking for Dragon Warrior gameshark codes? How is it that we are lazy for not wanting to do your work for you? Why isn't Bisqwit lazy? Blame him too! This is all terribly confusing!
Yes, explain! We require explanations!

So, if you told us how you tried to search, we could perhaps help you learn better searching. That way, you wouldn't need to ask every question.

Is it too much to ask for one little GameShark code?
Yes, because we aren't creators of those codes. We would need to search them from the 'net, which is exactly what you can do just as well. There's no reason why we should do your job for you. None of us is really any better suitable for that than you, and none of us is interested of the result except you.

I tried to play all 4 games simultaneously and I think you have to make some sort of no-music patch to the games. The .avi will otherwise be a cacophony.
Nah, it would sound like the Nintendo Bus. It would be great ;)

TAS should thus mean
That's unfortunately backronyming. Backronyming is not necessary here, because the acronym TAS was formed from the following words: tool-assisted speedrun. Please don't try to rewrite the history. I refer to: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=84162#84162

Never been using those, but it was a rare opportunity to copypaste an answer from another thread to the same question. And I agree with Truncate

On another forum I read, there's this super awesome animated emoticon with the guy eating from a bag of popcorn (most often used to imply that the poster is sitting down to watch the drama unfold in the thread).
I like that idea. I've been wanting to use it myself a couple of times.

If that's the case, I think it has something to do with a rather high noise-to-signal ratio in your submissions. (Record-breaking one at that, even.) But maybe if you picked a famous game to try on, you'd get better contribution. (Assuming you do a good job. If you do worse than the average quality people are expecting, you won't get much contribution I'm afraid.) By famous game I mean famous and suitable-for-speedrunning. Popeye isn't very suitable. Note: This post is not a comment on Rocking Cats. I ignored the thread topic and answered only to that one sentence.

I don't think it's impossible, but I do think it's going to be really difficult to make each one of the movies meaningful. It's very easy to put them so that one or two movies progress nicely and the others are just pushing a wall for a whole minute, etc...

I hate to nitpick, but the forum is still teeming with references to "Nesvideos." Can that be changed as well to reflect the new domain? Or is it more difficult than I think it is?
No, there's no technical problem. I will only change these gradually, with no hurry whatsoever. Name it a transition period, a half-hearted experiment or a glitch, if you need to.

I don't know if you're arguing of the topic of #nesvideos or of the name TAS or of the color of the crescent moon. TAS stands for tool-assisted speedruns, #nesvideos is the IRC channel of TASvideos, and TASvideos is a site for tool-assisted console game movies, most of them being also speedruns. Ps: > The average word length was 5.0594369134515119916579770594369 letters. I did not include the links in that. That sequence of decimals comes suspiciously close to that of 2^(1/12).
