I've heard FCEU has been changed somehow.
The FCEU version I'm running is based on Blip's patch Sep 19 2004, as this topic indicates. In addition, in November 2005 I downloaded Nitsuja's source code, which appeared to have some files reorganized and mappers changed or something, and I attempted to copy some of those changes to my copy.
Let's say I'm completely in blank as for what has been happening with FCEU development since Blip's patches.
I have questions:
― Who is maintaining FCEU now?
― What has changed since September 2004? I.e. changelog please.
―― Has the movie file format changed?
― Why should I upgrade?
― How do I upgrade? I.e. a source code patch please. AND FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE DON'T SOAK IT IN WINDOWSISMS. If the source code fails to compile on my system after I apply your patch, because
―― your emulator core refers to some global variables (without #ifdefs) that are only declared in the Windows UI code
―― or because you have changed the prototype of a global API function (such changing the number of parameters FCEUI_LoadMovie takes) and you have not updated non-Windows code that calls that function
―― or because it contains #include <windows.h> or some Windows-specific I/O or GUI call that has not been encapsulated in #ifdefs or a completely OS-specific module, I will be angry.
―― Yes, a patch please. No 3-megabyte zip files with hundreds of irrelevant/unchanged files. I have done some changes to my FCEU and I don't want to have to worry whether the zip will overwrite my changes or not. Using a diff/patch system, the patch can be applied into existing files without overwriting them completely. Try Winmerge. And DO verify that the patch only contains relevant changes i.e. no indentation changes, no backup files, etc.

After you enter the ceiling, jump a few times. This will make Rockman descend a bit in the next screen. Each jump will put Rockman 11 pixels more to the down. When you think Rockman might be on the right height, press left and up/down to grab the ladder that is on Rockman's right side. (Left is pressed to exit the wall by zipping out from it.)
When the screen scrolls, you will see whether Rockman is on the height you thought he'll be.

Certainly, if you just could somehow enter the solid.
[Edit: That gives me an idea...]
[Edit2: Too bad it didn't work. I tried if it's possible to zip through the bamboo stick in the scene with birds in Woodman stage. But I don't see how it would be possible to enter that height in the wall.]

Error: Uninformative thread topic.
What you are probably looking for, is backups. You need to make backups. That way, you can restore your work from the time before it it was destroyed. You make backups by copying the important files to a safe location.

The key to the trick is that you access the pipe while being further to the right side of the screen than you would normally be.
The vine is not the key, and not even required for the trick.
The vine is one way to accomplish it -- you can get very far to the right side of the screen that way, but you can also accomplish it by letting the game move Mario inside a wall without the screen scrolling.

I have the impression that Fastclick/Valueclick ads are usually quite distracting and make me want to remove them from my view.
I do not wish to offer that experience to the users of this site.

Translation: Good bye, do not participate in AdSense again.
I don't know
- whether they have read my explanations at all [Edit: According to access logs, they never visited the URLs in my e-mails]
- whether they understood those explanations at all
- what actually was the "invalid click activity" they detected
- and whether I could have done anything to help that
I do know
- that I will not receive a dime from Google
- and never will, at least not through AdSense.
Removing the poll from this topic, because it is pointless now.
Contrary to my earlier opinions, I no longer will recommend AdSense to anyone who plans on gaining money from publishing advertisements. This also applies at the company where I work at.

As you might guess, in Finnish, "i" and "y" are two distinct vowels, and not quite interchangeable :)
The sound of the Finnish y resembles German ü. Think "ü" when you read "y" in a Finnish word/name.

Contribution was practically non-existing.
I adjusted the stylesheet today a bit. Despite my attempts, it looks horrid, but perhaps it gives ideas for more skilled designers?

Monday morning USA time (which was evening at Finland), I received a reply from Google.
[Edit: Before receiving it, I sent this message:]
So the message I received:
Apparently, I had to write them a formal appeal, which, they can choose to completely ignore on their discretion.
So I sent one.
Here is the "relevant information" part of my appeal:
So it's time to wait their decision. Again.
(For those who missed the message they sent me in the first place, read it at my Traffic Statistics monthly post.)

I still don't get wtf this game is really about. :\
Simply put, a girl is supposed to navigate the puzzles with her fishing rope and to enter the door of choice.
Some stages have a "boss" which usually (if not always) means that she has to survive for a few minutes while the boss is moving everywhere.
She can push and pull the enemies around with the fishing rope. Some stages have multiple doors, which lead into different stages. There are a few ending stages and a few boss stages. These are mapped here: http://tasvideos.org/UmiharaKawaseFieldMap.html

We currently have:
* GBA Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (USA) in 27:46 by Atma (?).
** from a new game without taking damage from anything
* GBA Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (USA) in 05:53 by Atma (?).
** plays as Julius who is only playable after beating the game.
So new we would have also:
* GBA Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (USA) in 12:18 by Rodrigo F. (aka. pirate_sephiroth).
** plays using Hard Mode which is only possible after beating the game.
Three movies for this game...
And then there's also these:
* GBA Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (USA) in 23:43 by Mike Lastovica (aka. OgreSlayeR).
** Yeah.
* GBA Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (USA) in 05:34 by Mike Lastovica (aka. OgreSlayeR).
** Huh?
Do we really need this many GBA Castlevania movies? I can't really even tell the difference…
It would put this game on a higher pedestal than Super Mario Bros. 3…

In March 2006
- Globally on my webserver, there were 3081897 hits, 74.4 GB of traffic(*), with average of 4142 hits per hour.
1.4M hits in the name of Mozilla, 1.3M in the name of MSIE.
In this month, I experimented with Google Adsense.
However, at April 1st, I received this e-mail from Google, sent at Friday 31th.
Google AdSense wrote:
Hello Joel Yliluoma,
It has come to our attention that invalid clicks have been generated on
the Google ads on your site(s). We have therefore disabled your Google
AdSense account. Please understand that this step was taken in an
effort to protect the interest of the AdWords advertisers.
A publisher's site may not have invalid clicks on any ad(s), including
but not limited to clicks generated by:
- a publisher on his own web pages
- a publisher encouraging others to click on his ads
- automated clicking programs or any other deceptive software
- a publisher altering any portion of the ad code or changing the
layout, behavior, targeting, or delivery of ads for any reason
Practices such as these are in violation of the Google AdSense Terms
and Conditions and program polices, which can be viewed at:
https://www.google.com/adsense/localized-terms?hl=en_UShttps://www.google.com/adsense/policies?hl=en_US
Publishers disabled for invalid click activity are not allowed further
participation in AdSense and do not receive any further payment. The
earnings on your account will be properly returned to the affected
advertisers.
Sincerely,
The Google AdSense Team
I had Google Ads on my site for 6 days, collecting about $21 of virtual money. Apparently, I won't be seeing a cent of it.
As soon as I read the e-mail, I sent a query to Google asking for details regarding this incident. Because it is still the week-end, I do not know yet what is happening.
Worst-case scenario is that they ignore me, and I remain banned from Google AdSense without exactly clue why, without receiving anything from them.
The best-case scenario is that they notice some misinterpretation in their results and fix things, and don't reset my statistics.
Nevertheless, at least this weekend didn't gain a cent.
Possible reasons:
- Someone has roboted the ad links and they noticed it. Ergo, I suffer.
- They got annoyed when I did a "wget <address>" once to observe the source code. Ergo, I suffer. (I explained this in the e-mail I sent to them)
- They got annoyed of the "Google Ads - Yay or Nay" poll, interpreting it as attempting to influence the click ratios. Ergo, I suffer.
On the plus side, my connections have worked nicely this month. Apparently heat (of the ADSL modem) was the killer for this particular model.

*) This month, I tried transferring my backup files through HTTP. One of those backup files was a 4 GiB file. For some reason, attempting to transfer it with HTTP gave a 0-byte reply, but the server still logged an entire 4 GiB data transfer. I did this 8 times before giving up. Therefore, the data amount contains 32 gigabytes of inflation.

Since each [number] represents each published movie submission...why are some out of order?
The numbers, from the time before the site was transformed into a Wiki, correspond to the sequence, in which the entries were listed on a page that was manually updated. It is not a chronological order.
