It's been published already, thanks to DeHackEd, but I'm voting "yes" now. It is an interesting movie.

I wonder what is adelikat's stance to the fact that I obsoleted a Famtasia movie… with another Famtasia movie :)

Very nice. Your listed result for room 20 is incorrect, though. ^_~
Thanks for noticing. It was a transcription error. ("9" and "1" begin with the same vowel in Finnish, which was the language in which I thought the numbers when copying them from the SolomonsKeyMovie page into the submission text). Fixed. [Edit: link fixed too]

My only concern is that if someone wanted to improve this, he would be pretty much forced to use Famtasia, right? :(
I don't know. The timings of this game are chaotic, and me not being able to repeat the timings using FCEU does not actually tell anything: I can't reach all my times on a second attempt with Famtasia either.

When there's a pit of 1 block in width and a ceiling immediately above it, like this: It is not possible to cross it by jumping. Many of the puzzles rely on this fact, and I could not break this rule no matter how much I liked. You can only cross it by bridging the hole by creating a block there. However, if the hole contains a jewel or other item, you have to collect the jewel before you can create a block there. You cannot collect the jewel without falling through the hole. That's why I had to collect so many jewels in room 30. I skipped all jewels that I could, though. [Edit: Replaced ascii graph with an image one.]

There was supposed to be a WIP made by someone about this game. I have watched it, and Tombad seems to remember it too. Unfortunately I can't find it on my disk, and I can't even find the post/thread about it either.

I have never seen this game before, but I find it slightly boring. It reminds me of Actraiser 1 for more than one reason, but somehow I couldn't watch it for more than 15 minutes. My vote is meh. It does not annoy me, but it does not entertain me much either. Novelity of the game puts my support for publishing this movie around 60%.

Yes. I hate seeing two lines in the access log every time people go to my page. And I hate it when people write the broken link somewhere. Most servers are courteous enough to redirect the bad link to the proper page, but I don't like it. There's one right address. As per usability recommendations, I am careful to ensure that every time I move pages around on my site, I make proper redirections to ensure that the old address will not stop working; it will take to the new page. That's why http://bisqwit.iki.fi/jutut/nesvideos.html still works, for example. Even this works: http://tasvideos.org/changes.html But I do not want to do the same effort for addresses that never existed in the first place. If I starts supporting those false addresses, I would need to maintain the redirections for also those false addresses when I move pages around.

Is a fix on the server side out of the question?
I could include an exception in Agent Slash to permit videos.google.com referrals through without the nag page, but I don't feel like implementing it with very high priority.

Anyone feel like e-mailing to Google on the fact that their video description field eats trailing slashes from the URLs?

Sorry for the typo. Removing the name from there then, keeping nickname. [Edit: New AVI released, old removed.]

Quicktime only includes a method to decode H.264 streams within Quicktime files, but as far as I know, it does not contain a generic-use VideoForWindows/DirectShow codec for H264 decoding. It's only a Quicktime thing, with no use for anything else.

Forewords: I haven't welcomed submissions for Gradius. Morimoto's Gradius movie does not aim for speed; it aims for style. Styles are hard to compare, and I don't want to get into that position. Looks like, Diman put me into that position anyway. Here goes. - In the eruptive mountain scene, I liked Morimoto's work more. Two points off Diman. - Boss1 fight wasn't anything special. - More weapons... that's may be a good thing. A point for Diman. - In level 2, Morimoto created diagonal holes that aren't actually holes at all, and demonstrated multiple times that he can go through them at will. Diman didn't do this. One point off Diman. - Level 2 preboss: The method of choosing what to shoot and in which order didn't make sense. It failed to impress. - Level 3 beginning: I liked Morimoto's style more. I understand Diman didn't want to copy him, but Diman didn't bring anything interesting to watch. A point off Diman. - Level 3: Not enough playing with danger. Enemies are neutralized before they can impress with difficulty, shots are avoided from far, with little motion. Two points off Diman. I stopped watching at this point. Diman's points: -5, unlikely to recover from that. My vote is no.

What was the reason for using the potion in 1-1 and some later level?
There was no potion in 1-1 that was used, but in 1-2, it was to execute the false item trick, which is not documented at http://tasvideos.org/SuperMarioBros2Tricks.html (would someone like to remedify this shortcoming?) Basically, it allows Toad to carry a plant while not carrying anything, and thus, take the plant through the door and kill the OstroBirdo with it.

One thing I reflected over in 4-2, was whether it would be slightly faster to pick up a sprout to travel the distance to the Snifit slightly faster. It such a short bit it might not make a difference, and I've assumed it tested.
I don't know of sprouts, but I tested with the bottle and the difference was about 20 frames, a win for Snifit.

I was interested of the decision Donamer made in 4-2 to pick the star as late as possible. I wanted to see if it can be made faster by picking more cherries in the whale part of that stage. I did indeed manage to make it 1 frame faster than Donamer's movie. It could be made at least 2 frames faster, because I lost 1 frame before taking the rocket, and I'm not sure whether I played optimally in the spike pit. (And not sure whether I picked Birdo's egg as early as possible, too.) https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/donasmb2-4-2.zip (seek to frame 39560) I still didn't verify the sand pit scenes, but they look to me, like they could be made faster, by better planning the timing of the horizontal acceleration, to avoid spending unnecessary time on top of the enemies, that are used to skip rows of sand. _________ Yay for Asgard-style usage of commas in English.

Because of the chinese names (all of which look like the same to me), and the length of this game, and its unfamiliarity to me, it doesn't look very interesting to me. However, it's not less interesting than, say, Dragon Warrior. But I'm not voting yet.

Be sure to unscale the GIF if it displays it scaled. It'll run more smoothly then.

It seems that there are many people who don't much like this movie, because they don't understand what's going on and there are very few battles. I published this movie, because - I enjoy the show (the game looks and sounds beautiful) - I've completed the game and I enjoy watching the fast completion - I also realize that part of the site audience is Japanese (13% according to the access logs) and they certainly can read it. The game is also better known in Japan. - And fuzi2 did a terrific job with the movie.
