Timewise, it's a good run (I didn't watch it yet), but I remind that Donkey Kong wasn't accepted back then, even though it was later improved, for demonstration (for some reason I can't find those demonstrations now), to the quality approximately in your submission. I think this shouldn't be accepted.

I think you should do the airman birds glitch. It was missing from the Finalfighter/Morimoto version, and I think it would be a nice touch. And it doesn't waste any time so. . .
Can you explain the glitch?

I think that Super Turrican by Zerstorung should deserves a star. It's an excellent example in how time can be saved by taking damage and it uses weapons and tools creatively.
I'd rather give the star to Journey to Silius, because it's more charming in my opinion. But again in my opinion, neither of them are good enough :) Ah yes, I now gave a star to Sonic 2, in addition to Sonic 3.

And I hope that actingwise, something better is done in Iggy's Castle than what Alexis Neuhaus did. Viper7 had the right idea.

Assuming you mean "space is not a problem" literally, use the FFV1 codec for video. FFV1 is lossless (no compression artifacts whatsoever). It encodes 1 minute of animation to 20-400 MB, depending on the video content (amount of motion and so on). The Zombies Ate My Neighbors movie (~60 minutes) for example went to about 5.8 gigabytes. FFV1 is the ffmpeg lossless codec. For Windows users, FFDshow probably contains it. But, the "choppiness" you apparently see is not caused by the codec. It's most likely caused by the method you record the movie. When you use an external program for recording the movie, the emulator won't wait for your recorder. If the recorder is not fast enough(*) to capture all frames, you'll see choppiness (bad framerate). We don't use external recorders at this site for this reason. If you didn't mean literally, then you should use the good ol' mpeg-4 (in whatever variant you like: divx, ffmpeg, xvid, envivo...) with a very small quantizer setting (high quality). In MEncoder, you would give the vqscale=2 parameter to libavcodec. This results in nearly no visible artifacts. Only if you do a screen capture and analyze it with an image editor, you'll notice the colors aren't as solid as in the original. *) Everything matters: Harddisk speed, CPU speed, memory speed, interprocess communication speed...

Just a friendly advice..... can you cut down the .....s.... please? It's easier to read when it's coherently structured instead of looking like a choppy radio transmission.

You can also use the avimerge program from transcode to join two AVI files together. They need to have the same resolution, FPS and codec though. As for resizing, I really don't recommend resizing the movie to 320x240 before encoding. It'll just introduce noise and eat quality. The player can resize the AVI anyway. What you probably are looking for is aspect ratio correction. In MEncoder, aspect ratio of MPEG4 movies can be specified as an integer ratio directly to the AVI file. It is a much better solution than prescaling the movie.

my fps decreases when I play in slowmotion. is it supposed to be like this?
Yes, it is supposed to be like that. At normal speed, you get 60 frames per second. That's the speed SNES works. If you slow down SNES, you get less frames per second, because the SNES seconds are lengthened.

does it have something to do with those frame things?
fps = frames per second SNES emulators emulate the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, which always runs at 60 fps. Can you elaborate on what kind of framerate problems you are having?

Perhaps later on, H264 will become common enough so that DVD players can play it too.

Watching this movie more carefully, shuffling back and worth, it looks better. It starts getting more interesting. :)

Oops, sorry, I forgot to mention you that my server will be closed for the week, for technical reasons.
So.. it's Genisto now playing? How's it progressing? By the way, genisto.servehttp.com still seems to not respond.
I ask again - how's it going with SMB3? And the server still (or again) doesn't respond.

Looks like you have analyzed some wall-object collision checks to detail. Very good, for this boring game :)

So I should try looking for a new Famicom Disk System BIOS then?
Yes, or a way to extract the BIOS from the .nes file you have. I'm just guessing, but if you copy 8192 bytes from that file, ignoring the first 16 bytes, you might end up with valid disksys.rom. EDIT: Actually, if you copy 8192 bytes from position 24592 (6010 in hex), it'll work. Although, it'll display "Nintendo" logo instead of "Famicom" logo. Which, I don't know, might actually be right.

I got Famicom Disk System BIOS (J)
First, apparently, Windows is lying to you. The file name should be "Famicom Disk System BIOS (J).nes". Secondly, Famicom Disk System BIOS (J).nes is not the file expected by Famtasia. It probably _contains_ the right image, but the disksys.rom file should be only 8192 bytes long.

[Moderator action] I joined this thread to the existing thread because they are the same topic. No reason to discuss them separately as if they were different topics. PKK should have posted the question as a reply to the existing thread, not as a new topic. As for the actual question, I don't know anything about turbo keys in FCEU. Somebody else?

I didn't ask which instruction you 'followed', but what you actually did. Considering your line "ok 've renamed it disksys.rom now how do I use it?" in the other topic I think this is an important difference.

How about reading the FAQ? http://tasvideos.org/FAQ.html Specifically, the "How do I properly use emulator tools? How does the (something) feature work? How do I (something)?" link.

Where's Famtasias INI file?
In the same directory the EXE is. (Assuming you have started and exited Famtasia at least once.)

You must place the bios file (disksys.rom) to the directory where the Famtasia's INI file is.
