The tracker keeps statistics of completed file downloads, but not of the actual amount of transfers. And it doesn't group by months.
http://tasvideos.org/BittorrentTracker.html wrote:
Total: 521521 transfers of 360 files, 35539.0 GB This tracker remembers 22.0 GB of files, and 14.3 GB of them are currently freely downloadable.
That is, 35 terabytes spanning the time of 16 months. That would be at least two terabytes per month.

It's kind of comforting that we still have the good ol' primordial reflexes intact, I think. :P

So... has someone watched this movie? http://www.big-boys.com/articles/torn.html Quoting the first Google hit I got when trying to find that movie, I can say: This video clip of a mime interpreting Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn" always makes me laugh. The more I watch it, the funnier it seems to get.

Strange, I could hear it even though I set the PCM volume to zero in mixer. Creepy indeed. But yes, I've seen this (and others of this kind) tens of times before.

In some perverse sense I guess I could call that "justice".

I'm rather openminded at the distribution of NSF / SPC files.

I love those animations. Thanks for giving Rockman new and exciting colors never before seen.
Thanks :) I originally only changed the colours in order to make the GIF files smaller, but then I started making my own maps too.

*edit, the "Special case: Walls at the top of the screen" trick, no good?*
Good idea, but it fails the "there must be solid, non-lethal material at the screen bottom" condition! Believe me I would use it if it worked :)

Finalfighter's idea didn't work, but I ended up improving the level anyway. The Elecman level is now 73 frames faster due to a most basic optimization. Also, Fireman level is now 1 frame faster. Finalfighter has also discussed a new idea regarding the Bombman level. I'll try it out before revealing what it is. In any case, the WIP is now updated. https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/bisqwit-rockmanv6-incomplete.zip Oh, and I've added lots of animations at the RockmanTricks page. RockmanTricks

I accept River City Ransom and the Rygar swap (the previous versions of full Rygar didn't qualify, but the today one does). Flashback is a good movie, but the game isn't attractive enough and there's the length. Same applies to Out of this world. The star of MMX2 can perhaps be given to something better, but I'm not ready to strip it right away. Regarding Monopoly, I think Vegas Stakes is a better movie, but neither deserves a star. I'm still reluctant of Dragon Warrior as well. Lost Vikings is too long, and doesn't appeal to newbies (such as me). SCV4 and the short Zelda movie may be considered. I think I can agree about Contra 3, but the AVI should be re-encoded for better quality... Only one of the Gradius movies deserves a star, and I don't see a good reason to change it from the NES movie to either of the SNES movies. Regarding Arc's Metroid movie; Zoizite's maru-only movie is already starred. Can someone explain why it should be changed?

Of Zurreco's ideas, I agree with Umihara and Arkanoid. Dragon Warrior fails to keep the newbies interested. I disagree with Waiwai, but if so, I should perhaps denominate Castlevania, too... TNSe: I tried to express those points differently now... Rather than trying to define 'entertaining', I simply defined what are my ideas for which movies should have a star. BagOfMagicFood: That kind of falls under the second rule.

Which publications should have a star but don't have? Which publications have a star but shouldn't have it? Please express your opinions. This will be an ongoing topic and results of discussions may affect the current nominations. Guidelines regarding movie judging: A star signifies a movie that is considered "promotional" material. Such movies are suitable for first-time viewers. Desired properties of a movie that has a star: - Audiovisually attractive. - Keeps the pace and doesn't exhaust the audience with length. - Demonstrates level of playing skill that appeals to audience who have never seen the game before (and thus don't know what to consider "normal" and what is extraordinary). - Demonstrates level of playing skill that pleases even the timeattack experts in general and those knowledgeful at the game. It is desirable that all those factors are met, but if some of the factors are fulfilled especially well, a lack in some other factors can be accepted. (SMB1 for example isn't audiovisually very attractive.) Guidelines regarding the distribution of stars: - The total number of movies that have a star shouldn't exceed, say, 30. 15 is maybe a good aim... - The list of movies having a star should rather have variety than consist of many entries for the same game.

You're not really helping... EDIT:
Oh, and it plays on the easier difficulty, so it's still faster.
I see. I'm having some prejudice on the neededness of this movie... I'll postpone the watching (and thus, voting) until another day.

Ok... this movie is 13:34. The existing movie is 13:40. What's the gimmick?

Live a Live is a little known RPG game for SNES, made by Square. It was only released in Japan. There exists one English hack-translation of the game, but it is not very good quality. The game consists of 7 chapters, each of which tells the tale of a different person living in a different world / time and which can be played in arbitrary order. After the 7 chapters have been completed, there are two more. For demonstration, I made a little movie using SNES9X 1.43. It plays a few minutes from the beginning of the chapter of Pogo, a caveman from an era before spoken languages. https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/lil-pogo-part1.zip The clip length is 18 minutes, and a big part of it is cutscenes which can not be bypassed (and which are quite hilarious in my opinion). ROM: Live A Live (J).smc The movie was made with the Japanese version, but because the chapter of Pogo plays a lot with gestures and smells instead of words, you'll not miss anything important even if you can't read Japanese. Someone who has played Live a Live before may notice that my Beru outperforms Pogo in strength. This is because some extensive item-combining I do in the very beginning. And Pogo gets a nosebleed :) Edit: If you have the English patch, remember to rename your IPS file to something else so that it won't cause the desyncing of this movie.
