Does the flash stopper stop the spawning of those large fishes blocking the way in bubble man's stage? Those that spit out shrimps. If so that could be useful since your falling slower in the water right?
Vertical speed is irrelevant if what matters is the progress of going horizontally. And he didn't have to wait for the shrimps. The little wait was because of the spike wall. Also, remember that switching weapons *twice* costs almost a second.

The level order confuses me...why do Bubble before Flash? Couldn't the Time Stopper or Item-3 have been useful in Bubbleman's lair? He doesn't use the Bubble Lead to defeat Flash Man or anything.
There's no place for item-3, and there are no enemies he must wait&avoid. Spikes are not affected by timestopper. Probably the levels are exchangeable. Re: clashman Yes, it was to manipulate the boss's behavior. It wasn't needed in Morimoto's version originally, but the editing of the previous levels changed the randomness so it was required.

in the gutsdozer level, what was the reason for the second rush/rocket? it was right before "water" part ended.
To get a perfect timing for the item2's disappearance in the next level.

Finalfighter said he's aiming to complete it today, meaning probably in the next 16 hours or so.
In case someone wonders what happened to this aim, Finalfighter said he changed the route a bit. But he copypasted the 4th stage back and as far as I know, the last (5th) stage is in completion or already completed. What's left after that is to copypaste the wilystages back to the full movie. I'm quite confident my 5 day estimate holds. :) --EDIT--

Already (not much) discussed. I merged the existing thread to this one. Read ing the previous posts is recommended... But it's an open topic.

Where is this info coming from? Are you deciphering comments on their BBS or is he in contact with you via e-mail? Or is it something else?
He occassionally appears in IRC to talk.
And do you mean last level, as in the cave
Yes.

No, but there are more difficult tricks involved unlike in the 8-boss level.

I'm totally amazed that those "discussions" still go on... (or rather, stomp still) http://keithdevens.com/weblog/archive/2003/Nov/26/SuperMarioBrothers3

This might be quite troublesome to try to enforce, especially since it often happens that the submitter needs to answer certain questions that are brought upon by the movie watchers.

This is the final thing. It's based on Morimoto's work (which in turn was based on Finalfighter's demonstrations), which is finetuned by Finalfighter and the Wily levels are played by Finalfighter alone.

On the risk of raising false hopes... the anticipated movie might be coming up during the next 5 days. :) Finalfighter said he's aiming to complete it today, meaning probably in the next 16 hours or so.

Although it's not a particularly impressive game, this movie looks clearly much better than the previous version. Looks like you found a way to slash without delay without jumping.

But that in the real entertainment question he chose the one that gives 1 second of in-game benefit over the one that gives benefit in real time & entertainment (whether or not to use the murder beam in the last boss).

Wouldn't the crunching ceiling trick have been possible in #3 Lemmy's Castle, around 19:29 of the movie time?
