Sorry, I don't know that game.
ソロモンの鍵2 − クールミン島 救出作戦 (Solomon's Key 2 - Coolmin tou kyuushutsu sakusen) I think this game has similar potential as Lolo. Edit: Moved into a separate topic.

I repeat the opinion I stated on the irc channel.

Not knowing this game, this movie looks interesting and good.

I think I came across something that prevents using this patch to do VS Unisystem runs - the emulator doesn't seem to record coin insertions. I did a practice run without rerecords through VS SMB, and when I played back the movie, it would not leave the attract mode. I should think that it would be a good idea to somehow retain the DIP switch settings as well.
This is strange, because the movie file format clearly supports those events.

By the way,"think too black-and-white" is native-English-word? If you searched Japanese-expression,thank you. I can understand in easy.
Dictionary offers "黒白", but I think it's not the right word. The expression refers to exaggeration and extremes. Like "hey, slow down a bit, you walk too fast - oh, you mean I should crawl then??? - no no, that's not what I mean - oh, so now you're hoping I run like a tiger??". black-and-white = can't see shades of gray.

In no way this means you should start compromising anywhere else. As I said, it's not a question of "only entertainment" or "only speed".
Ok, I'll try so.
Just in case you misunderstood - "in no way this means X" means: "this definitely does not mean X". "in no way" = "とんでもなくて".

To Terimakasih, please don't think too black-and-white. When we say "murder-beam doesn't look good", we do not mean "comb the movie thoroughly and judge every choice and maximize the entertainment". > Which is right,"Hyperactive player" means "warning about many posts" ,or "a kind of a joke"... It means you have produced movies faster than most people can think. It's a positive kind of joke. It's a ephemeral rank.

So, who votes "yes" for replacing the current Super Metroid movie with the one where murder-beam is not used (linked in some previous post in this thread)?

I don't think Bisqwit want the Windows version.
It's just so much better when I can edit and compile my own versions. I hold the possibility to change the program as I want as a high priority. I can't compile code that has been written for Microsoft Visual C++ with Windows libs.

I randomly NOT display frames so as to decrease the CPU usage by the X server, and I re-enable XShm (your original snes9x patch turns it off)
In your patch, there's no reason to disable XShm. I disabled it because I used an external recorder. External recorder can't track direct memory access - it had to force snes9x to call XPutImage. (Thanks for reminding though - now that my version has an internal recorder as well, I have to remember to remove the touching of XShm support.) Randomly skip frames? How is that better than a controlled frameskipping?

- Better turbo function (with TAB)
What is this? In my version, turbo increases the frame skipping as long as the key is being held - except in the recording version, where it doesn't touch frameskip but eliminates all waits of any kind. As for frame advance, I too think it's highly necessary for snes9x. At Famtasia, I can live easily without it.

I watched this movie and even though it's faster than the previous movie (by more accuracy in 8-4), one sentence came to my mind which describes my opinion: bad imitation of Pom's movie.
The reason I state this opinion is because I don't like backstabbing. I'll welcome it if Pom makes a new version that is 3 or more frames faster than his current version, but when it's a different author, I think a higher threshold should be applied. Either it has to be significantly faster (21 frames is significantly in SMB1 at this point) or more entertaining (which seems to be impossible). I felt bad enough when I obsoleted Michael Fried's SMB2j movie with only a ~20 frame difference.

Well, there is a way to look which buttons were pressed. You have to open the .smv file with a hex editor, then go to the right position and "read" the numbers that you find there. I made a small tutorial about this, you can find it here.
You could also create it as a page at my site.

>Maybe some good programmer here can create a plugin which actually displays the keypresses during the video?? I think there already is one for NES. Bisqwit used it for an earlier version of the movie for Friday 13th. Something to check into perhaps.
It was an external program which modified the AVI. Also, VirtuaNES contains such feature, and I think FCEU (at least the Windows version) does too.

Orz? <img>
That's a fine translation :) But please don't embed images from servers you're not responsible of. People don't like bandwidth stealers. You may find your image suddenly replaced with something else without your consent (because you linked to it without the image owner's consent). Edit: For those who don't understand the joke - this picture is from game "Star Control 2", representing the fishy (pun intended) race of Orz.

Turn music up-side-down
I once heard, that one of the great composers had once composed a symphony that could be played holding the notebook in either way: normally or upside down. Both had a melody that made sense.

It's a joke obviously (not all the markings make sense), but are you sure you have access to the hosted image, in the sense that it doesn't suddenly turn into a goatse image without your consent or something like that?

Or, you could use another browser which is a better idea ;)
Or you could submit a bugfix to the javascript which is the best idea :)
