This is starting to sound like a mathematical problem.

There's nothing to do "like I said". What I did was that I fixed my server.

Your movie has an error, you can't stop the movie right after you kill the Joker, after you defeat him and he tries to stand you must move the character in his direction so the ending can take place.
Yes, I noticed when I started creating the .avi...

No that would be intentional lying. I'm not going to do that. Besides, I feel that high rerecord counts are a good sign - not bad. (But I wouldn't hack&increase them either.)

It takes far too much damage, and there are meaningless jumps, and there are meaningless weapon-selects... all-in-all, despite the faster time, it looks like there's a ton of room for improvement. The other video looks flawless even if time can be shaved off by not killing enemies.
Meaningless weapon-shuffling happens especially in 1-1, but shouldn't happen later on. I went through enemies if I couldn't hit them without having to stand still. I'm not sure about 1-1, but later on I didn't get hit unless it is faster than some other way.

Some comments, though.. isn't it faster to kill bosses 4 and 5 the way in the longer video?
I did the boss 3 slower than Bruno did. I can't figure out why, but I couldn't kill the enemy before it jumped the third time. In boss 4, I didn't like how Bruno wasted lots of time waiting there. I wanted a more active method. In boss 5, I didn't like how Bruno wasted lots of boomerangs (I had only 27, and he used 40). I wanted each boomerang to hit twice. (Didn't probably happen, but I wasted less of them anyway.)

Also.. you can jump straight up??
This was the actual reason I started making my movie. It distracted me to no end that Bruno didn't use it.

Wow, 7641 rerecords. My rerecord counts are growing by each movie. I seem to be getting pickier and pickier.

I got 11:30. But I'm not satisfied with how it looks like, so I'll publish it only as a supplement to Bruno's movie. It looks too unskillful - which is exactly what it was. It was training :)

46 seconds faster at beginning of 4-1... I'm unsure whether I'll beat Lezard's time. Doesn't look like I will.

In his video, he didn't go through the enemies. You know, you can go through enemies after you hit them, that's easy to figure out.
Yes, I've been using that quite much.

Upon seeing Linnom's 12:50 Batman timeattack, I got an urge to fix some of the mistakes he did - so now I'm doing a timeattack on Batman. I'm now at the beginning of 3-1 and so far I am about 20 seconds ahead his time.

I downloaded Mozilla after hearing so much about it. Seems neat, but I've got a problem accessing this site. In particular, I can't download the FMV files using Mozilla. All I get is a "text file" of 3 or 4 kB, much smaller than normal. Using IE they download just fine. Any idea why this happens?
The reduction happens because of transparent compression - i.e. the file is transferred in compressed format. That happens for all pages in this forum too. However the files should be automatically decompressed in the receiving end. Now that you mentioned it, it seems to work here exactly the same way. I don't know why it happens - maybe it has something to do with that the content-type isn't specified. I gave a "application/x-famtasia-movie" content-type to them and it seems to work now. Thanks for reporting.

Or maybe you go and find a non-broken ROM instead? Super Mario Bros with all levels is already included on my site. Super Mario Bros 2 without warps is considerable. Judging from Adventure Island 1 and 3, I doubt 2 is any more interesting. Especially the length makes it boring. Wizards and Warriors is on the todo list. Megaman 6 might be done by someone eventually. Bucky o'hare has been talked about already somewhere else on this board - do a search if you're interested. I don't konw of the rest.

Nope. I've usually just done a search on "font" in the package database and installed almost everything, without much looking.

Gunsmoke: I don't think it's interesting. Bubble Bobble: Could be a little too long... Maybe two player movie would be interesting... but not long. 15 minutes of Bubble Bobble is the maximum one can be expected to watch. If it takes longer, it's too long. Lolo series: Unsuitable. These games need brains, not reflexes. Watching someone else do the brainwork cancels all fun. Turtles: Maybe someone will do that Bigfoot: I've been thinking of that. It could be fun. I'm not sure. It's much more fun to _play_ though, than to watch.

A too complicated game and isn't more interesting than the 1st one and 3.
I'd like to _see_ it done quicker than my video was. I just don't want to go over the trouble again. Here's btw my latest try (incomplete): https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/bisqwit2-cv2-incomplete.fmv It works with the European version. It differs from the released version in that it has many micro-optimizations and that it doesn't buy the chain whip. One of the design principles were that if I kill something, I must get its heart. (Unless it's too far to reach - then it doesn't matter.) One curious thing to note is how perfect timing I have in Aljiba (the cyan town). Day comes exactly when it should and the crystal exchanger appears immediately after that without waiting. I also used the three block high jump trick twice, both at the below of a lake. Also, having these guys stay out of your way is often a matter of pressing up or left/right in the stairs. Both work for climbing but have different effects the monsters' behavior.

I saw it. I'm my mouth wide open. It's not like it helped me to do that... Well, it's good to see it is *possible*. edit 1: Here's an AVI file demonstrating that being done: https://files.tasvideos.org/cv2floor.avi (300 kB, no sound) edit 2: (Fixed the above address)

I just did the fall through floors glitch on famtasia! I'll send you the .fmv, but you will have to wait for 7 minutes to actually see it (I didn't think of using savestates). I actually did not notice it until I jumped out of the floor.
I want to see that. I tried that like countless times and I couldn't do it. It's definitely harder than the Rockman2 wall-omission tricks (click here for a sample) that the Morimoto's team are doing.

Elite seems to work only on PAL. NTSC operation seems to be hardcoded to Famtasia, so it can't be used...

But if killing monsters requires you to go hunting it around the screen, it's not very cool. It looks more like the monster is toying with you instead of the opposite.
