1) I do not respond well to litigation. If an official issue was raised about ROMs specifically, I could probably do some changes somewhere, but I would certainly not agree to take down the site unless situations become unbearable. 2) As long as I have other use for the server hardware, I'm not opposed to running TASvideos on it.

I'm in the process of writing two computer-aided TAS projects: -- A new version of the Lunar ball player (this time utilizing quick vanity shots that prevent score accumulation taking minutes of time). -- A computer-assisted version of Solomon's Key. I'm currently stuck at room 11. For some reason, the solution I used in the previous TAS is not working no matter how hard I try. The previous rooms are (probably) slightly faster now, though. I haven't profiled them with exact math, but BisqBot has done its best and not worse than I did on Famtasia, except now in room 11 where we are dumbfounded. And theoretically, I'm working on a non-glitch Rockman TAS. However, I'll gladly resign that project for someone else who's willing.

Final Burn Alpha has had TAS features for a long time already as indicated by this thread, but it is not yet accepted on this site. Fans of this emulator have kept a very low profile, so it hasn't really progressed either. Thanks to inspiration from AngerFist, I checked out quick what's the status of the FR file format. It seems to contain everything necessary, except the indication whether the game begins from reset or not. There is a "number of frames played before starting the movie" field, but it is undocumented whether this field can actually be trusted. If the field is hex-edited to zero, does the emulator reset the console when it loads the movie, or not? Also, how portable is this emulator? How does it compare to the items at http://tasvideos.org/NewEmulatorConditions.html ? It is long overdue to start accepting movies for this emulator, but these issues should be cleared first.

I don't remember being a toddler, because I was so ignorant, empty and non-existent that I was probably infinitely happy.
You were non-existent as a toddler?

Yes. Everything is God's fault because he created everything.
Your definition of the word "fault" is wrong. Enabling something to happen does not make it your fault, unless you do it for the purpose of making that happen, or consciously neglect to heed to warning signals of it possibly happening. For example, if you order a pizza, and on his route to your house, the pizza delivery boy has a car accident, is it your fault, because you ordered the pizza and without your order, he wouldn't have had the accident? No, there's no way you could have known it will happen. Many people carry guilt over such things, especially when someone closer person is involved than some delivery boy, but it is a fallacy. Blaming someone for such thing, or carrying guilt over such a thing, is pointless. It is not one's fault. Similarly, blaming God for your idea of regretting your own existence is pointless.

No matter what I do, life can never be 100% joy, so why would I want it instead of non-existence? For example, a few days ago I was doing a TAS of Blackthorne but it desynced on level 1-3, and it was annoying. If God hadn't created me I wouldn't have needed to experience that annoyance.
True as you say, this life down here is never 100% of joy. It contains also bitter elements. I believe such bitter elements are actually crucial for a human life: They enable us to learn. Without disappointments, we would never know which directions and actions are good and which are bad. We would never learn what to do. Nothing would motivate us to reproduce either, unless we knew that the actions paving the reproduction of humankind (sex, watching the children grow and learn what we teach them) produce a greater joy than the life by average. Computer game designers know that granting the player all the power in the beginning does not make them happy. Even though all players strive to gain "exp" in the game, the moment a magical "exp button" (press button to gain exp) is introduced in the game, all other actions aiming to gain experience become moot, and it will eventually lead to the decline of the playerbase. It degrades the game, it does not improve it. You need to have both lows and highs in order to see direction and have purpose. A first-person shooter without possibility to die would make hitpoints meaningless, and pointless to avoid damage. Granting the player instant-kill weapons would make all battles pointless. Even though the player plays for the purpose of reaching the game ending, granting the player a warp directly into the ending of the game would make the whole game pointless. Similarly, giving up because you cannot experience 100% joy, is pointless. Hence, by no means it is a fault of God that you don't live a life of 100% joy. However, as I earlier explained in this thread, God has actually designated us a life that is 100% joy. To receive it, we just need to accept it, and it will be coming. But it won't begin right away. First we need to grow up here. After accepting that life God wishes to offer us, God will shape us towards the way that enables the 100% joy mutually for everyone -- mostly by teaching us to rely on him, because he's perfect. :)

What countries have you visited in your life? If more than one, which did you find the most appealing? Finally, if you could visit some place on Earth you haven't been, where would it be?
I haven't travelled a lot. I've visited Sweden, Skellefteå once very briefly; Russia, Санкт-Петербу́рг (St. Petersburg) once for a week, and Estonia, Tallinn once for a weekend. In Skellefteå there was a semi-rural dock, and I didn't find it very impressive. But I didn't spend time exploring the place, either. I was a teenager back then, and I went there with my mother, for whom it was her first visit in a foreign country (and the only one so far). Tallinn was much like Helsinki, except that it seemed that streets were longer and buildings grayer. It was a fun trip with the folks from our company, and I mostly sticked with them. St. Petersburg was the most remarkable of these three. It was an educational visit together with some folks from a few trade schools from around here; we went to describe Finnish education in some trade school in there. That was one day, and the rest of the five days we just hanged around touring and wondering. Things that particularly were memorable to me weren't very commending on Russia though: -- Street children begging for money -- Roads that apparently had no traffic rules whatsoever -- Decayed blocks, blocks that looked like the building thereof had been started decades ago but never finished -- Very low value banknotes that were extremely battered, had been used as shopping lists, etc (and conversely, high value banknotes that were in perfect condition (and the large number of zeroes in them)) -- Trams in very bad shape -- A long and steep escalator leading to the metro tunnel; it looked like someone could cause a very dangerous domino effect by prodding someone on the top On the other hand, I liked things like the design of their local-area trains, and the good service in restaurants, and I grew fond of hearing the language being spoken everywhere, and missed it for some time after returning to Finland. If I'd like to visit some place I haven't been, that would be some semi-rural area in Japan. I'd also like to visit Israel, Canada, Ireland and Brazil, possibly some other countries too.

When you were a toddler, you very much wanted to exist. You did everything you could to live and adapt to human society rules, starting from the first cry when being born. Your saying "didn't want to exist" is an idea you have later adopted. Do you blame God for that? You are misidentifying the causes of your frustration. Find them, and figure out how to heal them. It will improve the life of yours, and those whom you depend of and who depend of you.

I don't subscribe to those rules. Assuming that you mean, what does it take for a person to be recognized as an adult. In my mind, there is no such thing as "adult", or if it exists, it is a purely negative concept. A human is learning and developing all the time. When that stops, the human starts resisting reason, and that is not a good thing.

I already have a cat so it answers the first question. As for second question, I'd like a tiger or a dolphin, but chances are neither wouldn't work very well even given perfect circumstances.

so you're saying that saying that your name is spelled wrong is like saying that TASes are cheated? they're not cheated because they're done intentionally with tools? but why wouldn't it be wrong just because it's done intentionally? if i murder someone, it doesn't make it any less wrong if i do it intentionally.

I don't know enough about Finland to know if this response would be appropriate there :\
People in Finland aren't particularly obese, though of course obese people do exist too. But in that moment I was actually in a hurry, but I didn't want to end up sweaty and panting at where I was going, so it was really a shortest-time and least-energy optimization task I was doing :)

I wish to apologize to JXQ, Fabian, jimsfriend and skamastaG for the things I said in this thread. Although what I said was based on my misconception that it is a simple thing to improve this movie, the fact is that what I said hurt feelings, and me saying merely that I misunderstood does not remedy the damage. I categorically apologize for: -- treating the players (especially JXQ) as if they don't have any saying to the submission when it is submitted -- implying that the players are redundant and that anyone could do the same. As I have already defended the arguments I made, I'm not going to do that here anymore. This post is to apologize that I wrote in a way that I never should. I am sorry.

A recent example, I was walking in a tunnel (view) that goes under the railway. The tunnel curves slightly towards the left. Normally you'd keep an equal distance to the side walls of the tunnel, meaning that your route forms a curved line in relation to the map. But obviously, you want to aim towards the closest point in the exit that is in line with your destination path, to minimize needless energy spent. So to do that, you must approach the left wall in the first half of the tunnel, and again approach the center at the second half of the tunnel. However, the first half of the tunnel is a downhill, and the second half of the tunnel is almost flat. What works in 2D does not necessarily work in 3D. You must consider that the slightly diagonal surface (downhill) of the first part of the tunnel is longer than it appears, because of the hill. So do you need to converge more, or less, to spend least energy? Keep in mind that in a downhill, the gravity assists you so less energy is consumed even if you walk a longer route. But oh no, in front of you, there are two persons who are directly in line with your "optimal" path, and they're walking slower than you are. So what do you do? Do you pass them by the left side, or by the right side? Furthermore, when is the optimal moment to pass them? You can control the moment by speeding up your pace a bit and slowing down it after passing, so you maintain the same average energy consumption. If you're going to lengthen your route to pass them, you'd probably pass them in the downhill, because it costs less energy to speed up your pace in a downhill than it does in the flat part. Yes, I was really thinking all of that in the moment.

You know you think in TAS tense too much when you want to optimize all your movements, i.e. walk the straightest route, comparing whether stairs or lift will be faster, considering the time waited for the lift, time spent opening the stairwell doors, … changing facing pre-emptively when turning, experimenting with moving in counterintuitive ways (such as the Michael Jackson door opening style), reaching your hand to daily items abnormally fast because normal movement just is quite sloppy, optimizing with which limb to open or close the fridge door when you are handling other items at the same time, etc. Yeah, I do all that.

What is DHT again? If it is some kind of noncentralised tracking thing, then we aren't using it because it makes the "downloaded N times" statistics completely useless, as those are not reported by clients anymore. It also makes it more difficult or impossible to get obsoleted torrents out of circulation.

Yeah, we usually go to subsecond optimizations when no larger optimizations are possible... Maybe this is what AKA refers to? Such practice has already been established with NES movies also.

These are valid points. As for myself, I've always been somewhat passive towards emulator updates or new rerecording platforms here; mostly because most of the emulators are entangled with Windows by design, and getting them to work on my favourite operating system is a large hassle, and also because my personal zone of familiarity has been exhausted already. That's when enthusiasm stops, and it becomes work. As for insufficient appreciation towards new people and contributors, I plea guilty. It is something part of my nature, which I could probably outgrow. I can deal almost warmly with a few people, but I cannot make 1000 or 200 people feel themselves important. :-/

I have felt that you have had an apparent mood shift since around the time of that "xebra incident" (not that I am saying it was caused by that). I just figured you were in some sort of "funk" lately. I don't think I am the only one to observe this. Just though you should probably be aware (since you seem to suggest you aren't aware).
I indeed wasn't aware of anything like that. I'm indeed somewhat more depressed now than I was before, but I think as a consequence of the events after (i.e. from reception to moderative actions etc.) that anything leading to that.

Can you explain, what is the "recent attitude" that you speak of? From my point of view, there was this topic about size tags being abused. At first I decided to shrug it off saying it's a social problem and should be dealt in social ways, but after having been made aware of it, I came to notice that it actually is quite annoying, so I devised a technical means to discourage the use of micro text. But instead of being discouraged, some people protested and decided to become troublemakers instead. I dealt with troublemakers as any admin is supposed to, however, it was not received well.
