I saw the movie, and I'm voting yes. There are only three things that I saw that I didn't like. -The lag. You've probably noticed this as well, and since you did'n't mention, so I'm going to assume that you couldn't help it. -You took two points of damage from a bird. Could you have made it so that instead of getting hit by them, you get boosted forward by two other enemies? -You took damage against the last boss. Was this so that you could hit him faster? Well, I also didn't like the leveling up, but that can't be helped I guess. Besides these though, it was played very well and precisely.

Well, I'm not sure if there is an autofire button (there probably is), but you can do it more precisely by slowing it down so much that you can press the fire button at every frame that you need to.

I had a similar problem. Try opening Famtasia.ini and chaning occupation to 1. Save the file, then try Famtasia again.

You press shift and the plus key or the minus key.

"pauses in movement" means the you stop moving at some points for tiny bit. Sloppy means that you mess at some points. I haven't seen the movie, but this is what they are saying.

Is he hosting them himself, or on some site? It would be unrealistinc to host them on someother site because there would be a total of 500ish downloads before it runs out. And if he is hosting it on his machine, it should last forever.

Read this Blechy: http://tasvideos.org/fmv.html Don't know what your problem was. Edit: Wait....you didn't use famtasia >_< Edit2: Apparently smvs do have a frame count. Huh.

Yes it is. First, make copies of each file. End the longer movie in Famtaisa at a certain frame that you can easily identify from level 12 (the first frame of the level, or something). This will cause the file to truncate. Then check out how many bytes are in the file. Then copy your back up of the movie onto the now short one. Open it up in the hex editor, and go to the byte that was the length of the shorter one. Copy everything from this point and on. Go to the 11 level movie. Go, play it, and end it at the same frame that you has originally ended the long movie. Now, open this one in a hex editor, and paste the data that you had copied before. That should be it. You might have one more or less extra bytes in the data that you are copying, so if the movie desyncs, just try pasting it starting from a differnt byte. Remember, that things still might go wrong because of randomness. It depends on what game you are playing. Edited for readability. Edit2: Someone said you are using Gens. I haven't really read it, but it should work the same way.

A page showing whos donated what is fine, but people start getting pissed off when people offer rewards for many, accuse them of selling out, etc... Anyway, it would be impossible to make the downloads faster if you are using bittorent. Anyway, the only people that would pay are the users at the forums, and from what I can tell, being able to make and watch movies is enough reward. Its up to Bisqwit though.

There three things that you may try to do: Change a keypress Add a keypress Remove a keypress Of course, you can do several of them at once. To do so, you must know the EXACT frame that you want to edit. If you are a replacing a part of a move with another, you must know the EXACT frame that you want. If you are off by even one frame, the movie desyncs. In the case that you want to change a keypress you must know what bits correspond do what keys. Anyway, one of the major problems with hex editing movie files is the randomness. Removing something, adding something, even removing a bullet that you accdidently fire might change the randomness, almost certainly desyncing your movie. But, its still possible. Have fun! :)

Well, mine did have an avi, but it was taken off. Sleepz was much faster because he used glitches, took damage, and didn't get 100% items. I used to not like taking damage, but I have changed my mind. Don't know about the policy on overwriting though.

If its a parse error, then its not your fault. Unfortunatly, Bisqwit is asleep and hes the only one who has access to the server. So, you have to wait until tommorow :(

Well, as long as you end up with the same amount of time units left in the level and the same or faster (in seconds) total time, there should be no problem.

First off, let me say I have not watched this run. Anyway...

A mistake I would edit out if this were possible. But of course it can be in an AVI...
Unacceptable. This would be cheating. We are not going to fix your mistakes.

Yes. I have played Thunder Force 3 more times than I can possibly count, and I didn't particularly want to play the whole thing at 5% speeds. I don't really NEED to either (although I did on a couple of occasions in Thunder Force 2). I suppose a movie where the player only shoots exactly where necessary would be more "perfect", but... this is a shootemup, not Mega Man!
Then perhaps you should be doing regular speedruns instead. These are not movies made as best as the author is willing to do. These are runs made perfectly. Your run has 144 rerecords. This is ridiculous. I've made movies where I use up this much in period of 2 seconds game time. Your run is over 23 minutes. Sorry if that sounded harsh, but you should ALWAYS play at slow speeds and get everything perfect. Perhaps not a 5%, but slow enough so that you do everything perfectly. You mess up and you lose a frame? Do it over. Is hitting all the enemies without outfire nearly impossible? Well, its not impossible then. Slow it down and get them all without autofire.

Please look at the submission queue before submitting a movie. There is already a faster movie. http://tasvideos.org/queue.cgi?id=18

In general, speed is better. However, if you only use 1 or 2 frames, it is acceptible to pull a really cool stunt. And of course, lots of speed is worthless if the movie is totally boring.

We're not saying that you can't ask questions though. If you search for a bit, and can't find the answer, then go ahead and ask it here. Also, remember that it is usally easier to ask your question in topics already dedicated to a game. For instance, there is already a SMW thread, a castlevania thread, etc...

Sorry, perhaps I phrased it wrong. Take a book such as the bible for instance. However interesting it may be, it is trying to get you fairth in God. I was not sure if this was just a philiosofic book that tells a story, or a religious book. All, I'm asking if this book is biblish. I have no problem with it assuming a religion (or lack thereof). I have read nearly of of Nietsche's (tranlated) stories, and I find them very well written and interesting. But, the book never seemed like it was trying to convert me. It was just giving me things to think about so I could decide myself.
