May as well post this new trick. When you blj with mario and he grabs a pole or tree or something, pressing Z+b on the frame mario hits the ground from climbing down the pole will let mario keep either a forwards or backwards speed in slide kick form. Here is a demonstration video I made of the trick.

Topic Revival time! Lately I have taken a lot of interest in TASing this game and made several runs on stages collecting all melons. Whilst doing that, I found a few tricks that I did not see in any of the prior WIPs that could prove useful. Two of these useful tricks include jumping and licking for 1 frame on the frist frame possible over and over. This lets Yoshi jump get massive height and travels further distances. There is also a trick where you can Stop an egg from exploding by licking it just before it blows up. Anyway, I started an all Melon/Heart TAS with goals that I'm unsure of right now. I also worked on the any% run and was able to save 95 frames over SL's old wip in level 2-2, which can be seen here.

Heh, and just like that HappyLee makes another strong blow in this war. Anyway, that walking in place thing was sweet. Yes vote (again)

Wow, didn't look at the site for a few days and this frame war started up. Well, good fun, I'm curious to see how long it will last.

You have impressed me yet again HappyLee. Being a fan and a bit of a TASer of a few SMB hacks, I found this hack to probably be the most entertaining and interesting hack. Besides that the quality of the TAS was very high, and I was entertained though out all of it. There were many moments where I like "woah..." and that's always a good thing in TASes Yes Vote!

Yes Vote I have never actually played this hack but I have played the origonal LoZ. This run was a really crazy run with all of those strage glitches such as just walking through blocks and my favorite, that screen warping glitch. I'm hoping to see this published.

Wasn't the best thing I've seen, but good for someone finally submitting a "play-around/freerun" for sm64.

For the 120 TAS, here is a video showing some nice timesavers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aXuSd5w5DA Besides these route being faster than the current methods of getting the stars, they both also don't require the cannon. The other star that required a cannon was also proven to be faster without it and instead using that flying glitch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRzvuiDPZes&feature=channel_page (I probably already brough this one up, but its a reminder for the last thing I'm going to say) Since the cannon is slower for getting these three stars, not opening the cannon would have a great deal of frames.

I have seen pretty much all the WIPs of this and they have been pretty impressing and entertaining. I'll wait off on rating until I watch an encode on the finished project, but I'm sure it will be just as impressive as the WIPs provided.

Ok, it seems, that many people missed a few tricks, I've discovered past the last 3 month and are not really fimilar with the low% category! a low% RBA run gets MORE items than a low% run, that visits spirit and shadow temple even if all trade items count as one item ;) and in case if somebody wonders, all we need to beat spirit and shadow are a Sword, a Shield and Bombchus. That sounds sick, but it's true. no Hookshot, Hover Boots, Bombs etc. the kokiri sword is not skipable, because of DoT skip! you can do DoT skip with deku stick on B, but in order to get a deku stick on B you need to have a sword ;) we visit Zelda to get zelda's lullaby. It's needed to get magic and magic is needed to shoot light arrows! we get Ruto's Letter, because doing RBA with it gives us arrows, so we can shoot one light arrow without quiver and bow ;) here's Acryte's trick to get bombchus from spirit temple without slingshot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JiTW_bBtKk I've discovered a way to hit that switch without a deku stick, but we need deku sticks still to get a small key to get up to that room. maybe we'll find a way to skip deku sticks completely someday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODZGV5VSXlo here are all the tricks, that lead to hover boots skip: gerudo fortress gate skip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cyf7zvxCIXc&feature=channel_page entering gerudo's fortress without bombchus: hover method: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2cag5dzkv0&feature=channel_page mega flip method: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuDcK_3bPAM&feature=channel_page silver block skip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5l72HQ1uaE&feature=channel_page (newer version for GCN; game freezes on N64 and Mupen if you use bombchus in a void, so you have to use chaosv1's way!) You can't actually just jump after bouncing though, you need to make mario fall off the ground or be off the ground and then double and triple jump. Heres how it looked for me without tools http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCyqp1n1kRw

Ok, here are two bljs outside the pyramid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUnPCsutKJI I couldn't do much with either but I was able to find that the walls in ssl almost all have the bounce effect. Lets see if these can be useful

Here is the fcm file of the run (I hope the setting and all are correct). Also, heres the run on youtube I was able to obtain the shoe item for player 2 on level 10 (at the cost of about 98 frames) which help speed up later stages. Also, I am trying to find a way to manipulate a shoe to appear in stage 16 like in Tarzan's run, but I have yet to have any success. I believe this is because the shoe actually appeared on stage 15, but since thats since a quick stage, it wasnt worth getting the shoe. So I'm currently trying to find a good way to manipulate items. So far only amounts of bubbles blown and whether they are popped are not has worked for previous items.

Man, FP was crazy. Lots of unexpected twists here and there, but the thing that got me by far was how you didn't activate the witch switch but still got its jiggy. Looking forward to RBB

Posts after 4 years of silence. Anyway, I'm slowly working on a new bubble bobble run that that is currently faster than the published run due to route changes and a new trick. So far this run will aim for the same goals as the previous run. I'll post a WIP sometime. If people thing different goals might prove to be more entertaining, I can easily go back since I'm not far into the run.

Anyways, back to the CCCless discussion... As people may already know, hyper speed wallkicks can get you through walls, the element behind that though is probably what kind of wall it is. For example, in this video I was able to get through the "caged based" wall. An odd this I noticed about that though was that there was an invisable wall right behind the cage that could be kicked off of. I am uncertain as to this but if possibly more reasearch was put into this little trick and tested it in certain areas, SL 6 and BBH 6 might prove possible, as stated by others a page ago. As for possibly getting OoB in DDD, you might be able to with a good setup with the wallkicks trick. As I said, I don't know if these are even possible, just stating my ideas so that someome may try and possibly have success.

I have uploaded the WIP of stage one to youtube here. Kyman14 and myself would like feedback as to wether or not this would be an overall entertaining run before we get to far into this.
