He rescued the animals before getting to the ship. I beleive Jecy asked for this. It's just a small detour.

I think that If I use 'Space-Time-Beam-Glitch' somewhere, I can accomplish under 00:20, easier. (Because ,perhaps I can skip Ridley & MotherBrain.) But I think , that movie will be not entertainment.(^_^;) So, I don't want to use it, If I can use it. ([perhaps] means, "I don't know "howto",now.")
I agree, I don't think watching this would be very entertaining. Skipping the boss in this way would be as entertaining as if a glitch was found to beat Super Mario Bros 1 mid way through the first level. You miss too much of the game. I enjoyed this movie very much! Every time you get a better time you find new ways to make the movie more entertaining!

You can beat the gun without icebeam too, but you need the speedbooster for that...

Honestly I have to agree with Josh and AxeMan on this one. The point of the star runs are movies which people can pick up and watch with no previous knowledge about the game and enjoy. That or in the case of the Mario runs, everyone knows about the game. My NG run is only really impressive to people who know about the game, while the other two are more full of action. I do feel that one of the movies deserve a star though, as in my opinion they are all very well done. To me the NG series is also a very good series for timeattacking. It has been said TheAxeMan's might be the best choice, as there is alot of actions compaired to the other runs, but then again Josh is doing a very good job with his run too.

In NG2, if you are able to use left+right, it's best to just jump the minimal amount needed to use it. But if you're climbing a wall from the right and need to go to the left, his method is the best.
Are you 100% sure of this? Remember when you jump into the wall your gaining both horizontal AND vertical movement, while if you run upto the wall and then start going up it your only gaining horizontal OR vertical movement. I would think that there would be a point where jumping into the wall would be quicker, although it might be pretty close to it.

I think the movie shouldn't be stopped until the credits/ending movie cannot be reached faster. This is in agreement with FODA, in that situation you should hold right to trigger the credits sooner. To contrast, I felt I could end the NG run when I delt the last hit to the boss because the credits/end movie would trigger at the same time regardless of what I did. Thus giving an easy point to compare final times.

2 Though this brings up an issue. I'll use NG1 as an example. I chose to stop it after I killed the last boss, but technically I could have kept it going to hurry through the ending story sequence. Do you stop it after there is no more gameplay, or after there is no more possible input? Personally I think it should be stopped after the gameplay is stopped, and the game will continue with the ending story and/or credits on it's own. This is how most movies are done now.

Heh, it desyncs for me before he even gets out of bed. Although this just might be a me only thing, as it desynced for me in FF6 for no reason too. (Yes I tried read-only and redownloading the file)

I think you need to link the acual file, rather then a link to add a file. Which asks me to log in as you. Edit: Much better.

I'm glad one of use got our run under 10 minutes :D Watching this I noticed that alot of the badguys were extremely similar betwee NG1, and NG2. Most looked and acted a little different, but some where the exact same! Hell the last three bosses were the same idea ;p Very nice run, it should definately be accepted.

Alright, I'm back to where I was with my last attempt at this, with only Act 7 to go. And I said 20 frames of improvement if all goes well...it actually turned out to be 104 frames faster!
Don't you love when that happens? The 62 I expected in NG1 turned into 100 :D

My thoughts side slightly with TNSe with this one. While I have heard of Shining Forces, and infact quite like the game, I have issues with gens. I also don't have a goodset of Genesis games, so watching Genesis based movies are rare for me. I also don't really feel making useless posts like "I'm not going to watch this, but I hope it's good" are really worth it. Although if you do finish it, i'll definately give the avi a watch.

No the games are quite different, and I do beleive that someone has acually picked up this game for a run. Atleast the first level has been done.

I acually looked into the game a few days ago, and it looked pretty cool, and it also looked like it would make for a good run. Although it's a game I had never heard of, so I didn't look into it further.. Edit: Sorry I was thinking of Big Nose Freaks Out

Hmm.. Would it be possible to avoid mother brains beam by using a crystal flash or someting like that? Or is it impossible to use crystal flash while you are trapped in the beam? Otherwise you could refill as she drains your energy.
You can dodge it with space jump I beleive. I do know that if you alternate left and right to get up faster after mother brain hits you with the first beam, then space jump in hte top right corner, strange stuff happens.

Does the Morale check apply to bosses? If so would it technically be possible to make them run from you?

Great! However, I need to ask something. In 4-3 (I think) when you jump up the wall, why do you go away to the right? Wouldn't it bee faster just going straight up? I know you probalby know what you're doing but I'm curius.
I think your talking about 6-2? If that is the place it's to unlock the screen so it will move left.

Well it will look 99% the same... it's just changing one jump. Hell you probably won't even notice the difference ;p Edit: Ok I tried to hexedit it, but as I thought it wouldn't work properly. Everything works fine up to 6-3, but then it throws off the randomness of the enemies. As it stands fixing the problem will save 62 frames, but I think I will be able to shave off another 3-4 by doing the whole thing again.

Well, there is for now a mistake which cost me 2 seconds, which most people wouldn't see. Luckily shimaknight pointed out that I was half asleep and missed it. For now i'm going to search other small improvements, which will probably be in technique rather than speed, and fix it up. Expect the fix before next week.
