There is problem with multi-core prcoessors for some people. If you do have a mult-core processor try: Run the emulator, ctrl-alt-del, and goto the 'Processes' tab. Right click on SNES9x.exe and select 'Set Affinity...'. Uncheck boxes until only one is checked.

What do you think a normal rhythm game does then?

He is probably talking about a VfM compatible version of x264 to use it virtualdub. I don't believe there is an 'official' version of that anymore. Though there is probably a third party one available. Somewhere.

Well, if the problem is solved by turning off Norton. I would blame Norton.

Hmm, HappyLee this is one of the times where speed doesn't beat entertainment. While your run is faster, it's much less entertaining to watch because you run over all of the levels. That is probably why you are getting the no votes. mushroom actually went through a few submissions of Air 2 before it finally got published. Some of which were much faster than the currently published one. People voted no on those too because they thought they were boring. Edit: From a technical standpoint it's a very good run, but don't think it will be published over the current run.

The Firemen I wish it saved all the burning people though. Note: It wasn't even rejected! I vote cardboard redoes it saving everyone and then doesn't cancel it! Yep!

No real reason HappyLee. Recently the encoders have taking a vacation. There haven't been many publications in general; they will catch up and yours will be published eventually. Patience.

I don't see why this run should not be accepted. This would have been encoded instantly if it was 1 frame faster over the normal SMB, so why not the walking one? The most negative comment has been "No more entertaining than the current one". As opposed to there not being any real visible difference to some of the improvements for some publications on this site.

After looking at the screenshots selected by Dammit, and then the newly generated NesVideoAgent screenshots. I think it's clear which one needs to be on the movie page if this gets published.

I would agree that NOD32 is probably the best anti-virus program. By my experience AVG is terrible, and Avast is not very good either. I also personally recommend that people stay away with Kaspersky. Back in Kaspersky V5 they added 'protection' against alternate data stream viruses, however they do (did? I think they changed the way the program does it) by writing ADS onto every file that it scanned. Basically adding footnotes to each file which if different after being read back later, were flagged as being a malicious file (Their words here. Which kind of makes me suspect it's still done this way). However, there was a bug in the program which caused it in rare cases caused mass corruption of files. Without knowing this I downloaded Kaspersky to try it out (as people were recommending it), and later found out that it had corrupted a bunch of my files. Now, they did release a tool to try and recover the corrupted files, but in my mind that doesn't matter. What good is a virus scanner to protect your data if there is a chance that it might shred it? In my mind the best virus scanners are just that, virus scanners. Not a whole suite which tries to protect your computer from everything. (McAfee, Norton, Kaspersky Internet Security, ect.) These programs tend to try and take control of your computer, and can cause MAJOR problems during updates. I know all three are known for causes connectivity issues in Windows Vista after Windows Updates. In some cases they even can cause Vista to enter reduced functionality mode after updates. If you are very unlucky that means having to call Microsoft Activations to get Vista reactivated after you sort the issue out. The other thing to remember is no virus scanner is going to be perfect. They will all let viruses through, no exceptions. As shown with copy protection anything written by humans, can be broken by humans. If someone wants to write a virus to beat the current virus scanners there will. You can find many articles that support this evidence. So there is no sense in using one that will worsen your computer. If you suspect that a file you downloaded might have a virus in it then make sure you scan it. There are websites dedicated for scanning files with multiple virus scanning programs for you. The best security for viruses and trojans is a diligent mind. The best security for worms is a firewall. This will never change.

This game's palette/backgrounds suffers from Mega Drive syndrome too much for me unfortunately.

I am 100% with you. (Well maybe the childish part is a little harsh) I refer to April 1st as "The worst day of the year". I quite literally try to keep contact with the outside world down to an absolute minimum for the the area (and I say area because of time zones, and people like to start up early) of the day. It seems to be a holiday you either love or hate, and all it takes is for one person to love it to ruin it for everyone else. Also, it gets even worse because you often need to do 'damage control' during other parts of the year because of something that someone has said or done April 1st. Ugh.

It should be noted that the official version of VBA won't work for making a TAS. The version at the site that alden linked has been modified to add new features for TASing.

You will need to download a IRC client to be able to connect. An example of a good one for Windows would be X-Chat.

That is because Top Gear 3000 uses the DSP-4 chip. It is the only game to use that chip. Thus, writing support for it was incredibly low on the priority list. I do believe that one of the zsnes guys have put some basic support for it into zsnes not TOO long ago.
