If someone wants to try it, I'd be happy to see a WIP.

That's good news, although this means you're going to remake Dry Lagoon again right?

The "soft reset" idea was very smart, and using it to be able to change between dark and hero sides is also a great idea. Being able to hex some stages into the movie like Ringrush said would really make things way easier!

Too bad it wasn't possible to discover any way to walk on the sand, it is a great idea. Actually after posting I wondered about that when I noticed the animals/chaos drives list on the bottom right corner, very funny lol

The WIP is outstanding, it looks too much more amazing while watching everything together, great job! Dying with some health left? LMAO, how did you do that? Did you got hit at the same time you got some rings or something like that?

The unseen areas, the team work, the strategies, the speed, the entertainment, words can't truly describe how much I appreciate the effort you're putting into this TAS man, just amazing.

And it keeps getting better and better, and I'm loving it! If it wasn't the need to raise the CHAO to get those emblems, I'd love to see an 180 emblems TAS, although we could still have an all missions TAS :)

Can't wait! Can't wait! The final time of Iron Gate is outstanding! By "best possible emerald locations" you mean that this layout is even better than the old one, making Dry Lagoon also be improved? If yes then this is amazing, if not it's amazing anyway just because the reason of it being slower would be the Iron Gate run. Great job guys

I know this has been said before, I'm repeating it just for the people that are taking this argument to another direction. If the trick can't be reproduced in the console, then disallow it forever and either do the run without it or do the run another version of the game, thus classifying it under another category. If someone finds a way to make it work on console without crashing, then go all out.

I remember reading this too, it was in an youtube video, but it's been a really long time, it was when I barely knew anything about TASVideos and SM64, but I remember this. If I'm not mistaken SS even said that the team would not start the "new"(at that time) run unless they knew all the possible improvements and Brian still don't wanted to show it.

I've been following and updating from the SVN for a while. Just wanted to say: even if not many people post in this thread I'm sure plenty are enjoying your work, so thanks! Also, I loved the playaround stuff in Koopa Hill #1, but I needed to comment on this:

I made an effort toward an ecologic boss fight. The word "エコ" means "eco" = ecology or ecologic. And...
...And you ended up with "エロ" instead? Hah! (for those who don't get it, that's pronounced "ero" and is short for ""erotic" or "eroticism")
Well... the run is very sexy so that fits anyway =D

The volume isn't even low enough to make a difference, I could hear the stage music just fine.

I've never had his problem with the audio dump, unless it's something that onnly happens in SSBM

Also, do you know if you'll be doing any dualspeed duration in the TAS (getting two speedshoes overlapping to get a permanent speed increase). It seems like somewhere there should be two checkpoints close enough (or a capsule and a checkpoint...City Escape comes to mind as a candidate).
I think it would be needlessly restrictive to not allow this, for non-TAS it's useful as a rule that prevents people from doing speedruns starting the stage with the effect of a speedshoe even by mistake, since you won't ever get 2 of them at all (this is the only reason I can find to make this rule have any meaning, although I'd like too much more if getting 2 speedshoes in the same life was allowed, but of course not restarting the stage then, either finishing it or exitting to the stage select screen), but for TAS I don't see why this should be prohibited.

Wow! The trick is awesome! I never expected it to be as impressive as it really is! Hey Andy, it's great to know that you guys could improve the damned board section, I'd never touch City Escape to TAS it just because of that.

Technically Yoshiiscool found it. I was in his stream the other day and Rolan was there and Yoshi told him about it. Apparently Rolan said it saves 20 frames. Anyway I honestly don't mind the music thing. I believe as long as it saves time it should be incorporated.
As a viewer I support this notion.

Man! I'm really amazed with this run! I honestly enjoyed every part of it. The fight against the ninja and the chopper brought amazing memories! At 26:20 I can hear "Meryl" at the start of the communication, but in every other one I can't hear anything, that one is supposed to be like that or you could've skipped the very beginning like in all others? OMG! Snake is godlike! His cloth changing and Aikido skills are amazing! Superman and Steven Seagal would be very proud! Some parts made me lol really hard: 1-Guard: 'takes punch to the back' Huh!? What was that noise? 2-Meryl: I'll be the point. Snake: Fuck off bitch I know what I'm doing. 'Gets another path' 3-Meryl: I'll be the point again, there are mines all around this place, I saw their location when Mantis was in my mind. 'Walks slowly and carefully making some turns around the area' Snake: 'Runs in a straight line to her' That guy really fucked up your mind. Amazing job so far, I can't wait to see the end of this TAS!
