Here, voted for Castlevania. My favourite TAS from this list is Mario Kart, but Castlevania went further in the luck aspect.

On snowy afternoons, you like to play a type of solitaire game. You deal out cards from a randomly shuffled standard deck, face up, into a pile. With each card you deal, you say the faces of the cards, in order: ace, two, three, up to king, then starting over at ace. If you get through the deck without what you say ever matching what you deal, you win. What are the chances that you win? They’re about 1.6 percent. In a standard deck, there are four cards of each rank — four aces, four twos, four threes and so on. So when you randomize the deck by shuffling it, there is a 4/52 (or 1/13) chance that you will place a card in a position that will match what you eventually speak aloud. Put another way, before you start the game, there is a 12/13 chance that any card will not match what you will speak aloud. In order to win, you have to get through the deck with zero matches, so you need to “win” these 12/13 shots 52 times in a row. The chances of that are (12/13)52≈0.01557, or about 1.6 percent. Good luck!
is wrong based on my understanding of the problem, but I don't care to figure out the exact number. Edit: Close enough, but random trials (C++ program at http://pastebin.com/YDSWF9UR) appear to give a winning percentage of about 1.62%.
A way to proof the (12/13)52 answer is wrong is too look at the denominator of the chance. There is a total of 52 cards. Thus, the amount of ways they can be organized in is 52!. When you play the game, you will win when the cards are displayed in X of these ways, and you will lose when the cards are displayed in (52! - X) of these ways. Thus, the fraction X/52! represents this chance, and has both an integer nominator and denominator. 52! is a multiple of 134, but not of 135. So, since the fraction (12/13)52 is irreducible, it can't be equal to X/52! if X is an integer.

Japanese version is faster in some places, indeed, but we don't count is as an improvement. The standard on TASVideos is to use the USA ROM, I think. (Someone correct me, please, if that's not true).

I had to check this side by side with the current publication. What you did do is considered as an actual improvement at 25m. Which forces 100m to act differently due to this. You're not at an emulation fault that you think your are. You did everything correctly. This TAS is fine, I'm giving it a solid Meh.
Actually, the improvement in the first room is also due to emulation. The barrels are spawned in different frames. Anyway, great job with this run! I think it can't be published because of the issues you said, but if we find an way to proof it was possible to manipulate better RNG in my old run, even with the poor emulation (and probably it is, I didn't test delaying the entrance of the room in more than... 2 frames :b), then it can be obsoleted by the site's rules. It's always good to obsolete movies that use poor emulation.

Prince of Persia improvements were really interesting, in my opinion the TAS of the first game is entertaining and should be a Moon. Actually, this and some of the other vaulted movies by Challenger have a high entertainment rating, which means, I think, more people agree with me about that. Robyns, by the other hand, was impressive with the huge amount of movies she got published, and surely some of her individual movies are really good too, so it's a difficult decision. I might end up voting for both of them.

Voted no for game choice. The final level is fun. The rest, though, felt really unfocused to me, and I didn't really enjoy watching it. It was unclear what the game was going for; it has randomly placed level elements in many cases, as is common in Kaizohacks, but it looked as though the game was intended to be much easier than that. The main issue is that there's no real coherent theme; in most official Mario games level elements are placed out of a sort of realism/place, and in many hacks they're placed as elements of a puzzle to maximise difficulty, and both of those gives the game a sort of consistency that makes it interesting to watch. This game, though, doesn't really have any of that, and it was hard to figure out how difficult its sections were, and often what the levels were even about. The final level stood in contrast to that (other than the boss, which to be fair is tedious even in the original); it did have a sort of coherent theme (fluid motion along corridors), and also made some sort of architectural sense, being only let down by the occasional camera mishap. If there was a TAS of a game full of that, I'd be happy. As it is, though, this run doesn't really entertain.
Let me disagree with you about the quality of the hack (not about the run itself). JUMP has 125 exits divided in many worlds, with very clear themes each. Maybe because this is a warps TAS, it was impossible to see this, as most of the run happened in the Star World, which has never a theme (just like in SMW or SDW). I strongly disagree that this hack has randomly placed level elements. Most of SMW community (me included) considers it as a very high quality hack. And about the difficulty, it isn't supposed to be kaizo, but it's supposed to be close to it. In SMWCentral, its difficulty is stated as ''very hard''. If you want to see more of this hack, take a look on this 3 hours and 13 min long 100% TAS, made by J1h7e7: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adILPxbWqs8 A TAS of this kind is indeed way better to show of the hack and for entertainment! But, unfortunately, I'm afraid it will never happen. From my experience it would take, at the very least, 3 years of hard work to finish an optimal TAS of the whole hack. There are few SMW TASers active nowadays, so it's hard to find anyone up for that.

Yeah, the Grue handles anything that's rejected or cancelled. Also, no worries or hard feelings on the submission. Everyone's gotta start somewhere, most first submissions (even those from prominent, established TASers) end up being fairly weak. My first recommendation if you want to continue TASing is, well, maybe choose a less complicated game than SMW to start out with. The game has a ridiculous amount of speed tricks that need to be applied all throughout every frame of the run, and it's not something I would recommend for a first-time TASer. If you have your heart set on it, you might be spending a lot of time (and I mean upwards of months or even a year) learning everything before you're able to make an SMW run worthy of publication. My second, and much easier, recommendation is just stick around the community! Support other runners, learn from what they do, maybe even join the IRC channel and chat with us if you want. We're mostly nice people. I only bite when people ask, for example.
Thing is SMW is the only game I actually know how to TAS.
Sorry for upping this old thread, but I should say there are people around who understand well SMW engine and are willing to help. I don't know if you are on SMW Discord Server (it's about speedrunning but there is a channel for TASing, same thing for the SMWCentral server). Post your movies there, and I and others will point what you can improve in your TAS.

After further optimization, 122 frames could be saved with J1h7e7 findings, and a few other things I found too. I don't have the time now, but I will explain the improvements (and as well explain deeply other aspects of the run) as soon as possible. Here is the movie file: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/35967833034758926 It now runs on version 1.04 instead of 1.01, so this problem is gone!

I think nfq is confusing discrimination to intrinsic characteristics with ''discrimination'' to people that committed immoral actions (such as heinous crimes). There is a big difference there.

Nach, I think you are pushing it with these arguments to conclude grassini wasn't attacking personally anyone. He did attack people. However, I never suggested, neither did Samsara or Bobo the King, that grassini should be 'terminated'. In my honest opinion, he shouldn't even be warned by the moderation as he was now. This discussion would work just fine without moderation intervention. The point is there was moderation intervention, so it would be good if it was equal on both sides.

If you evaluate what grassini said with a bit of common sense, you will see used the term ''lefty liberals'' as a characteristic of the people he was answering to. He immediately mentioned them again in ''I pity you guys'', making clear he was not referring to some group outside of TASVideos.

Not only grassini used memes satirizing other people's opinion, he also called them paranoiac and mentioned them twice in not very friendly ways. That sounds pretty personal. I don't want to make from this thread a mess of personal attacks, but it is very unpleasant that moderation ignored him, but warned against the use of the word 'troll'.

Grassini, I get you are trying to base your arguments on memes like this little comic you posted. Nowadays terms such as ''racist, sexist and homophobic'' are being used a lot in a sarcastic/satiric way such as you did there, but if you stop to think seriously about it, there is no mistake in claiming Trump is all of these. Just google his name next to this words and you will find a lot of video content that ends any discussion about it. Everyone should see how serious it is to have a president with this kind of ideology, it's not a risible complaint as you try to make it look like. You must know how disgusting and messy Brazil's politics are since last year, USA is an example of how it could be much worse.

Actually this came out last year on November 16. it was recently resubmitted to smwc because of a new version, so the current submission it shows a more recent date, but the version that was TASed was public on smwc much longer (and had many more downloads).
Shouldn't TASes for hacks be done on the most recent version? Or perhaps wait until no new versions are expected? Do any of the changes since v1.01 affect the methods used in this TAS?
I started this TAS really long ago, at that time v1.01 was the most recent. The changes don't affect the 11 exit TAS, but they would affect the all exit TAS.

J1h7e7 pointed out some improvements to this run. I'll implement them and update the file as soon as possible. It seems it will save more 2 or 3 seconds! Edit: he showed me the movies, it saves in total 81 frames. Since I'll have to re-sync the whole thing, I'll try to do it in V1.04.

I found the following number: 1016949152542372881355932203389830508474576271186440677966*6 = 6101694915254237288135593220338983050847457627118644067796. I still didn't check if it is the smallest. But it's surely the smallest that ends on a 6. EDIT: this is indeed the smallest solution. The next smallest numbers end in 7, 8 and 9, and they are the product of this number and 7/6, 4/3 and 3/2, respectively.
