Two more levels - and 3 exits were obtained. Vanilla Secret 1 was the one that took the most work so far. Vanilla Dome 2 secret exit: https://youtu.be/mk3MFyW155E Vanilla Secret 1 both exits: https://youtu.be/V6t29b1z1u0 Now we are at 53/96 exits, only 5 away of the arbitrary 3/5 goal. But it's very hard to think of 5 levels that are remotely viable.

There is a challenge in SMW of clearing levels without pressing the jump buttons, A or B. Today the 50th exit was achieved, Awesome, so I think I should post it here as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7O7Oo5dLmA There is a playlist if you want to see the other levels: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7195269BE54CC3CF

I can give some SMW examples such as the minimal jumps run https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ie9yNoKWy1k And I guess the 'clearing levels without pressing A or B' series https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7195269BE54CC3CF There are also hacks that are created just for TASing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXZ54MGWgN0

A very successful mathematician has submitted his proof for the Riemann Hypothesis. A lot of people are skeptical about it. I couldn't understand a single thing, but for a RH proof his paper is incredibly short: https://drive.google.com/file/d/17NBICP6OcUSucrXKNWvzLmrQpfUrEKuY/view

Amaraticando has found a new way to abuse the Yoshification glitch. This new variant doesn't involve ACE at all, and it can be used to obtain credits or to finish the level. So, by TASVideos rules, would it be valid to use it in 96-exit to finish Cheese Bridge Area quicker? Everything happens inside the ROM (thus there is no ACE), but doing the same trick a few pixels to the side would lead to credits instead. EDIT: I linked the wrong video the last time. Here's the correct link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KY5rcp3V24

As it turned out, there were some improvements early on to the 96 exit TAS (some of them apply to any% too). My plan of not sharing WIPs so that people don't find improvements didn't work. So I decided to share the same WIP ISM did in the past, Star World + Special World: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdaqW4TeS40

You are saying Diablo 2 might be actually TASable in the future? That's amazing! I'm so hyped about it now. I'll absolutely work on a Diablo 2 TAS as soon as it's available.

Yes, it can: limit of x^(1/x) when x -> 0 is 0 limit of x^(1/x) when x -> inf is 1 and maximum of x^(1/x) is e^(1/e) at x = e. So for every 1<y<e^(1/e), x^(1/x) = y has two solutions for x.

I know this is based on RTA standards and I've read your submission text. In order to TASes to be accepted here they must differ from Real Time Attacks. Thus, ''RTA-friendly strategies'' is not an acceptable goal. You were linked to the movie rules in your previous submission.

As it was said to you in your first submission, this site is not interested in movies that are slower than the current record. You said yourself in the submission text that you lost framerules over the current publication.

FWIW, don't confuse our colleagues from abroad. The use of "zebra", meaning upset, is used only in Brazil. ;) For those who are curious, it comes from an illegal gambling game called jogo do bicho (animal game). Legend says that some guy wrote in a newspaper that a team beating another in some football match would be the same thing as getting a zebra in jogo do bicho (which is impossible, it has 25 animals, none of them is a zebra). It turns out that the upset did happen, so here we say that a "zebra" has happened when an upset occurs in soccer.
Oh! I used to think 'zebra' was a Brazilian term, but I listened it in the first episode of House MD, when House was referring to the possibility a improbable disease causing the patient symptoms, instead of a common one. So I figured 'zebra' was an universal term for improbable events.

So that's why. I finally get it. I guess it's what happened to ISM back when he was making the 96-exit TAS. Maybe it's better to keep in discussion with people who are capable of finding improvements once a stage is done, so you'll have more confidence with no improvement being left?
That could help, but it's hard to catch an improvement without the movie file. And I just can't TAS if I know there are improvements behind (if I happen to find one myself, I will definitely go back and fix it). So if I make the movie file public, chances are (considering this is a very big TAS) somebody will find an improvement somewhere, possibly more than one. I will end up going back to try to fix them, and god knows how many months it will take to sync everything, re-do score, coin and frame rule plan, etc. So I rather not knowing about any possible improvements, and thus, not sharing the file (neither a video of the whole run so far). Makes it much more likely that this run will be completed and submitted one day.

That would be already crazy enough if the improvement was for the whole run, and to think it's possible that it can be over 2 minutes when the run is done. Congratulations on the great work, man!
Thanks for the compliment! I will make a post here occasionally about the progress of the run. Also I want to say I initially intended to publish at least one WIP of this run, but I realized doing so would very likely result in someone finding some improvement early on, and I know I would want to go back and fix it, which would make this run to never be finished. So I rather not knowing about possible improvements until I'm done :) Thus, I'm just sharing some nice strats or levels on Twitter, for those interested. This was the final version of Butter Bridge 2, for instance. A rare use of double stun glitch: https://twitter.com/Bruno_Visnadi/status/1013565795790663681

Cool find! Looks definitely useful for a new 96-exit TAS.
I should announce here as well, there is a 96-exit TAS in progress already. I'm currently at Butter Bridge 2. Thankfully for me, this new trick won't improve Gnarly. It would suck to line up every frame rule again! So far, 58/96 exits have been done, and improvement is of 1 minute and 37.8 seconds. Rerecord count is around 627k.

One of the most famous SMW pit hacks, Item Abuse 3, has just been TASed. And what a brilliant TAS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXZ54MGWgN0 Panga's video has been taken out by Nintendo, so you might want to watch the previous TAS before in case you don't know the intended solutions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuZMvMtZCWU

If Sweden and Germany win 1-0 tomorrow. Given three teams have 6 points with identical goal difference and goals scored. Which two teams will go through to the knockout stages?
As far as I know, 'fair play' is the next tiebreaker:
FIFA wrote:
Here's how different fouls are scored for the the tiebreaker: Yellow card: -1 Red card for two cautions: -3 Straight red card: -4 Yellow card and straight red card: -5
Mexico has received 2 yellow cards, Sweden has received 3 yellow cards and Germany has received 2 yellow cards plus one red card for to cautions. So if the score attributed to cards doesn't change in these last 2 matches, and both Sweden and Germany win 1x0, Mexico and Sweden will advance. I'm not sure about it though because FIFA says right now Germany is in second place, when it should be third if we consider this fair play rule. I was wrong, read Masterjun's reply.

That unmarked penalty for Sweden, though... Now Germany is almost guaranteed to beat South Korea, and even if Sweden beats Mexico chances are goal difference will be in Germany's favor - so it will probably get past the group stage. If Germany finishes second and Brazil finishes first, we will have Brazil vs Germany on Round of 16. That would be fun.
