I'll be blunt. Encodes shouldn't be mandatory for submissions.

They learn to make them "flashy" because they have researched the games themselves and read the threads and guides in here. Many people here also have a good sense of style. Watch the TASes, use frame advance and input display to your advantage and learn. Then, innovate.

The Simpsons also had meteorites burning up upon reentry to the size of a Chihuahua's head.
Comet/meteorite isn't a satellite, duh.

Because Matt Groening and Don Rosa are part of the NASA conspiracy to keep it a secret and feed false information to the public.
So Don Rosa knows the cure for cancer?

You do realize that what will be falling is debris, rather than the satellite as a whole? (Not that the chunks of debris cannot be dangerous if they hit a building or such, but probably not as catastrophic as if the entire satellite were to crash at terminal speed.)
No, it will be a whole. That's how it happened on The Simpsons and in a comic drawn by Don Rosa. Why would TV and Don Rosa lie to me?

I think there's a cure for cancer on that satellite and there's also a government conspiracy which aligned the stars so that it caused the crash of the said satellite. Also, Lena Meyer-Landrut is very cute.

<offtopic> Pirate_sephiroth, please refrain from posting those large pictures into every thread. They are completely pointless and just take up space. I'll leave that one be, but be warned. </offtopic> I've never heard of this practice of putting two spaces after a period until this thread. Sounds a bit silly in my opinion, but oh well.

I prefer this kind of graphics. I can see dirt on the ground when I go outside, so I want to see artistic graphics when I'm playing a game.

You are experiencing "second-hand nostalgia filtering"..
This nostalgia feeling thing is just crap in my opinion. I disregard the age of music and concentrate on listening to it. It just happens to be that most of my favorite music was made in the 70's, there's nothing nostalgic about it.

The run was pretty much like the current Super Mario 64 run, but with awful level design. Voting no, as I wasn't a least bit entertained.

I'm glad I've never even heard that Friday song thingie. I just listen to Queen, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Elton John, The Beatles, Queensryche, Chang Yu-Sheng, Boston, Guns 'N Roses and all the other greats. So much good music has been made over the past 50 years. Just do as I do and ignore the pop charts and don't watch MTV or listen to the radio and you'll do fine. PS. Queen II is the best album ever made!

Mister Epic, are you ashamed of your anime love affair as you just edited your post to remove the part that said that the character in the picture looks cute?

Here's what my avatar would look like, if Guybrush had a hat on: But since I'm not stupid, I just link that here instead of making it my avatar.

Mine is a triumphant Guybrush who found a bone. I like Monkey Island series and my nickname is derived from Guybrush (it used to be Guybrush). Guybrush.

Oh right, I forgot about this... Well, here's Duck Tales 2. It's about 2-5 frames faster than adelikat's run up to the falling bridge. Then I lose everything I've gained due to different random lag. I really think someone should look into this.

Hey, I've had a lot of these! I think I still have some. I'll dig them up later and put them in this post.

If a 40-year-old plant that was soon to be closed anyways could almost withstand the 5th most powerful earthquake ever recorded and a tsunami wave, I think nuclear power in Germany is pretty safe.
