i wonder how fast shadowgate could be beaten. 14 minutes?
I think it can be beaten lot faster than 14 minutes. TAS is 9:18 and I think it's not impossible to beat it in 10-11 minutes.

Well, I've started to make a new run of this game. Here's my progress so far. The intro stage is as fast as tinister's (except the boss which is only a test) but I have to test a new strategy for it. All kind of help is very welcome here.

I have two great ideas but I can't produce them due the lack of good video editor. But your videos are looking good, keep it up guys.

Anyway, great video as before, can't wait to see the Nightmare bit :P (That is, by the way, the one boss I had to cheat on to get past...)
Nightmare is hard like hell. I guess I have to find the ROM and take a look at this run.

But what makes this hard to judge is that author already found a way to improve this by 10-30 seconds.

I tried it out a bit and found something, but I think you're already aware of these things. I'll list them anyway: Jumping is faster than walking and don't attack if it's not necessary because attacking slows you down. I'll wish you good luck, hope you'll get something done soon.

Super Metriod is hell to optimize.
All Metroid games are hell to optimize. I've spent almost 1000 rerecords in just 1 room in Metroid.

Added metroid %100 & deadly towers. Still a lot of runs not being worked on...
Woo-hoo! Looking forward to a 100% Metroid run. (Crosses fingers that it's in the original suit. Though it should be possible to hex-edit the .fcm file and remove the entry of the password?).
It's going to be suitful run, but it's in hold at the moment. Hopefully I get my nerves back in one piece soon and continue that run. And like Bag said, it's not possible to hex-edit the password input because it affects random factors (I think).

Voted YES. This movie was entertaining and it's also lot faster than the current published run. Good job Randil!

It is bit slower because of the "Player 2 get ready!" screen.

I'm sorry to say that I'm putting no continuing this run for a while, it's destroying my nerves. But I'm still thinking about the route and such so all kind of help is still welcome.

Continually jumping as soon as you land will keep your extra speed after jumping from a downhill run. In some places, it looked like you used it knowing this glitch existed (2-1, for example), but in others, it wasn't used as much as it could be, so I'm not sure if you were aware of it or not.
Gah! Guybrush, I thought you told me you already tried this!
I did and it didn't work in the place I tried it.
