Probably because their potential for evil is limitless.
How can these cute and peaceful kittens be evil? Link to video PS. I suggest watching that in at least 480p, because the default resolution makes is blurry.

Why not just subtitle the mission text into an encode?
This is a good solution.

I watched the run, but I'll refrain from voting, because of possible improvements by MUGG and possibly Phil (I'd like to see those movie files posted here).

It looked nice, but also confusing. I think this run should focus on entertainment and disregard speed altogether. I've played the game a bit, but I still couldn't figure out what you were supposed to do in some levels, because I don't remember. That wasn't really entertaining, at least for me. So, I propose that a TAS of this game would show each "Do this to win the level" message and then solve it as surprisingly and creatively as possible.

I too voted no, because the game seemed horrible and I was bored throughout the run.

No I was one of the sane ones last time. And I never stop when I see something wrong. That's actually a character trade I'm proud of. ;)
Then you fail to see that there's nothing wrong here.

Hello! My name is Brushy and I have a WIP of a possible improvement to adelikat's currently published run. This WIP of mine is some frames faster when reaching the falling bridge in the first level. My different input however changes the randomness of the bird in the bridge section, which causes several frames lag, if I try to kill it. The new strategy at the bridge demonstrated in the WIP allows me to be as fast as adelikat at the end of the WIP, but in a way I'm slower than him, because I lose all my gainings. I know of other small improvements in adelikat's run, but this game has horrible random lag that might nullify all improvements. I'd still like to go on and test those improvements. I'm posting this WIP to generate interest in TASing this game and maybe find a way to manipulate the bird in the bridge section to cooperate with the TASer so that the found improvements aren't canceled out. Good luck to everyone who's interested enough to try this.

Here's a fun little program that anyone can enjoy!
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;

int main()
{

 int day1, day2, day3;

 cout << "Hello and welcome to the bar of the future!" << endl;
 cout << "Please insert the number of beers you had the day before yesterday: " << endl;
 cin >> day1;

 cout << "Thank you! Now tell me how many beers you had yesterday: " << endl;
 cin >> day2;

 cout << "Thank you! Now, please insert the number of beers you have had today: " << endl;
 cin >> day3;

 cout << "Thank you! You have had an average of " << (day1 + day2 + day3) / 3.0 << " beers per day. You should drink more beer." << endl;

 return 0;
}
Written in C++. EDIT: It also seems I copypasted the wrong text file. Just a sec and I'll update it. EDIT2: Nach is working on a fix for the code tags, so I'll update this to a form that compiles when he's ready. EDIT3: Now it should be fixed.

Cool! I'll do that as soon as I finish it. P.S. On an unrelated note, if I make a savestate during a movie, and then I turn off the emulator, and then I turn it back on again and record, and then load the savestate, will it load the whole recorded movie? Or am I gonna have to do it all over again? 'Cuz I would... Rather like to turn my computer off tonight.
It will load the whole movie. TASers keeping their computers turned on for several months or even years would be a major energy consumption problem in the world :)

These features are cool, thanks for them. Now, how about some better moderating tools, such as possibility to merge threads? :)

Hmm. I'm kind of confused here. I thought people voted whether the movie deserved to be published...by the TASing - not the entertainment. I thought we voted numerically on entertainment/technical stuff after it was published.
A submission undergoes a judging procedure where a judge decides wheter it is published or not, by judging the entertainment value of the run and the technical quality of the run. He bases this decision on the judge guidelines, his personal opinion and the votes of other users, which he can actually disregard completely, if he thinks that's necessary. So to clear up your confusion, people here vote yes if they were entertained and if they think the run is technically good. The ratings have nothing to do with the judging process.

Here's the RAM map. You can use those together with the FCEUX cheat function.

Grand Theft Auto gameplay with a Mass Effect conversation, morality, and leveling system.
GTA IV had those. Also, Mass Effect morality and conversations are all black and white and even grey if you like, so there's no big deal. My combination would be Tenchu + Spider-Man 2 (PS2 and those consoles). Stealth action in a sandbox, how awesome would that be?

Wow, that WIP was awesome. Best one I've seen in a long while. For real, good luck with your improved run. I hope to see this submitted soon! :)

To me the WIP looked good, if disregarding the known improvements. I did wonder about one thing though, because the menu manipulation seemed odd to me. What's the deal with that?

Hello! My name is Brushy and I complain about things. This time I'd like to complain about subtitle placement and timing. I was watching the DailyMotion stream of the new Tiny Toons publishment and I noticed that the subtitles telling you the rerecord count and all that were right in front of the character for a whole lot of time. This could've been easily avoided, if the encoder had put them in the bottom of the screen at that time. This is not the only encode where I've noticed this, but I can't think of any games right now. Hopefully, from now on, encoders will actually check the subtitle placement and timing and change them accordingly, instead of just using the same script for all games, so this won't happen again. I'd also like to thank all of our encoders for the great job you're doing. Keep up the great and important work!
