No, they're all Konami, except Ninja Gaiden.

No, on principle that I favor realtime over ingame time, always (Hell, in theory you could make a Pokémon run with 0 ingame time, but it would be 256 hours long)

Well, kikkin-man on ICP mentioned a bug that causes the enemy to attack with literally all they've got (I.E. killing henchmen for extra resources) so that bug could save time. Some later levels could be done just by labrushing with fliers, and the "blow up generators" level could be beaten by fixing the lab with henchmen while Lucy runs around sabotaging stuff. Of course, it's moot until there's a working PC emulator.

I've done exactly what P.J. boy said, and it still won't work! How do I make it "run", or w/e?

Phil makes a good point - The games that are TASed often enough to have that many tricks, all have tricks & tips pages. So I propose all submission pages link to the tricks & tips page of the game, if there is one.

Wow! That could add up to a HUGE timesaver! You could push through the game for a while like that - The incredibly annoying Trainer Bridge in Cerulean, Cerulean Gym, S.S. Anne, keep going for a while after that without catching anything. I suppose eventually it would be best to catch Mew as the Cut slave, and well as Fly. I'm gonna fiddle with the Oak meeting and see if anything can happen. EDIT: Nothing yet, however, I did remember another glitch, and I've finally put up a .vbm (note: It's still labeled "Oak Skip"). It's the hard reset bug, which is what happens when you turn off the power when it tells you not to. It seems as if you have no pokémon, but you do. Mosly they lack useable attacks, but on is a Charizard with crazy-high attack power, 0 defense power, and Megapunch and Vicegrip. This glitch may or may not be useful, who knows? http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1566567875/Pokemon%20RedOakskip.vbm

Great! I wonder how much time that saves? More importantly, I wonder what would happen if you tried a similar trick on Professor Oak right at the start. Any idea what happens when you go into battle with no pokémon?

Interesting idea. I propose the new version (because Hanzou just figured out how to skip Pewter gym, so a new version is implied) have audio commentary.

I can't figure out how to make this work. I'm using Snes9x 1.43, using a hack of Super Mario World. I want to display the 7E007B byte. How do I do this?

Quite amusing. Definitely better than "normal" chess game TASes. Yes vote.

I've been thinking - Pokémon R/B has a bug that lets you go on Cycling Road without a bicycle. Obviously, getting the bike is much faster than not, but I wonder - would it be possible to skip the guy who sends you to pewter gym without a badge? The "bikeless cycling road" trick is pretty easy to pull off. EDIT: Here you go http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1763215754/Pokeredbikeglitch.vbm I used Pokémon Red, because I couldn't find the .vbm of the Blue TAS.

I still say it should be Google Video, and be only viewable by link.

? You can upload AVIs to Google Video, and make it so they are only viewable if seen from a link on tasvideos.

Is it possible to hack a game so the demo input changes? That could make for very interesting demo movies. A hack with a built-in TAS!

I used ipsXP to put an .ips patch (Ninki Saga) onto Super Mario World. However, when I open it with Snes9x, the screen is black. As far as I know, the rom is a good dump (I can watch the published TAS on the unpatched version) and I've used the same patch with good results on a different computer. Any suggestions?

Voting meh. This game just doesn't seem like a good choice to TAS. It was OK, but I wouldn't watch it again.

Yeah, let's never make TASes again so we can just wait for quantum computers, which undoubtedly will do better than us.

Yes vote. Wow, SM64 has so many videos. Not that I'm complaining. EDIT: 11, including CCless, this, BLJless, and all the published ones.

This is your first submission, right? In my experience, first submissions have a tendency to become gruefood. N64 games are especially rough. However, resubmissions can be much better, and closer to perfection. I say: Go ahead. You may surprise yourself with how big an improvement you can make.

The tap-dancing glitch is a bug where you use auto fire A in places where the camera height can be changed, and Wario warps downwards. Anyway, Qlex, if you "dislike glitching", get liking. Most of the runs on tasvideos use some form of glitch, and to ignore a massively timesaving bug (Estimates range from 1 minute saved to an hour) would get you crucified.

Can my RCR run be starred? I know this sounds braggish, but the previous run was starred, so I don't see why a massive improvement shouldn't be starred.

I think it could be interesting if you could manage to get inside bosses and shoot them with all 5 bullets at the same time.

It's version 3 by this author, version 4 overall. Voting yes and star.
