Seriously, what have I done that's so terrible? I understand Rridgway, but not me.

Oh. I suppose that means a lot of the pummelling in my run is worthless, because it doesn't recuce anything. I should let him get up to waste his stamina.

I don't think so. I watched my video of Simon getting owned and 04BE goes down a little then stays at 1C. So it doesn't seem to be that, unless there's something in the game where clubbing your opponent really bad prevents him from getting to use all his willpower.

On second thought, it's not 60 frames. There is some sort of rule, but not one based on seconds. On another note, the game lags a lot. I found in one place that with 2 routes that differed only vertically, there was a 10-frame difference in time. So I'll look to cut down on lag. No WIPs, I think I'll just hammer this out in 2 days. It REALLY bugs me to see one of my runs this unoptimized.

Wait. Do you ever heal fully, either at a pokémon centre or an auto-heal place? 'Cause I don't think so.

Its still funny that it got a law written for it specificly.
Oh. I thought it was like in New Hampshire, where it's legal to build a boat out of rocket fuel. It doesn't have a specific law, but it's a loophole in the law. I thought it was something like that.

Hi, Jiruru, welcome to TASvideos. Anyways, that's a good point, but it's more effective only when the ball must stay on the fairway to reach the green in 2 shots, or when it's impossible to hit the rough without very adjusted aim.

I've managed to find a lot more improvements than I expected. I found a few places for improvement in level 1 and improved it exactly 60 frames (This game has a 60-frame rule akin to Mario's 21-frame rule).

Because the ball stops instantly when it hits the rough, while if it goes on the fairway it rolls for quite a long time.

Not really, because the shots would be aimed as fast as possible. So it would be obviously not real shooting, which would take a lot of aiming.

How's the progress on this run coming, Fractal? I'm glad to see the current run published, but I think a Machop run would be very funny.

Well, it might be somewhat interesting to see a baseball game where you can set inning length. Line out, line out, line out, homerun.

I would actually prefer a run that covers both minigolf courses, as they would be hole-in-one frenzies.

Reminds of Tom and Jerry. It's a fast-paced game based on a cartoon, with the run about 9 minutes long. I recently found a glitch in Tom and Jerry (see the topic) where pressing left+right gives instant acceleration. Test left+right and autofiring A or B in various situations (Running, mine car, toboggan, et cetera).

Not all stairs are textured slopes. With some, if you walk up slowly Mario jerks upwards instead of going smoothly.

Curses! Rridgway discovered a bug in this game where pressing left+right at the same time accelerates Jerry to top speed instantly. Also, if he hits a wall he turns around instantly. I hate to add another run to the list, but I think this could be improved by about 10 seconds if anyone wants a go at it...

2007-05-08 19:08:03 Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Would anyone be interested in a run of SMB3 without getting any mushrooms? So far I'm partway through the first airship - I'll post a WIP later tonight. So, why is it there was no interest in the SMB3 small run but so much in an SMW small run? EDIT: Just watched it. I just lost a dollar on a bet with Rridgway :(

I doubt it, given the several seconds need between shots (especially high-power ones).

My best level on SMW is, by a long shot, whatever the level I run here is. I use "Vomit Comet" flying, which is slower in a TAS but the same speed unassisted.

I thought a while back of doing a mini-golf run. I've done a fair bit of testing, and have scored a hole in one on every single hole except #17 on Peach's Dream. Which really sucked, because it was the second course I tested (of two). I had just bet a friend that I could hole-in-one every mini-golf hole. Sigh. But still, it would be very interesting to watch those constant holes-in-one until that one hole. About a real-course TAS: Interesting. I abandoned the thought because of difficulty, but it deserves looking at. In theory, even par 5s could be done in 2 shots (1 to get close, 1 to hit it in). However, with a weak hitter like Yoshi or whoever you start with, it might not be possible. So, I suggest this submission use cheats. Recall the Zanac submission[/ur] where cheats were used for entertainment. Miscellaneous: I'd like to point out that it would be best to get the ball in some way to not roll far. Maybe put it up hill, or in the rough if it doesn't cost a shot. A Mini Golf run would obviously not cheat, as they all put the same, but the character chosen should have the shortest after-hole-in-one animation.
