Well, I must say that none of the pokémon which can be glitched in Mt. Moon are that impressive... Most are slow, part poison, or have long cries. Cubone looked good until I found out its only attack is Growl at start.

Surf is unnecessary and, in fact, derogatory because you can simply bike over water. Surf is slower.
About the process itself: That's odd, because I always thought you had to go out twice for the bug to work. Huh.

Many a good run has been cancelled on this site, often for little good reason. For example, FractalFusion's record-shattering Pokémon Yellow run. He received 17 yes votes, and 3 meh votes. Yet he cancelled it, due to "bad reception". 85% is not "bad reception". At my school, 85% is the standard for an A+. Here are the quotes from the people who said bad things about the run:
Those 3 people effectively convinced FractalFusion to quit his run? Bah! I, like many other people, was incapable of finding a ROM of Pokémon Yellow, and waited a long time for the AVI file to come out. I was stunned when FractalFusion cancelled his run.
I have no disrespect for an author who makes a video not worthy of publication. However, when an author cancels a run which otherwise would have been published, I get very mad at that author.

The turtle is made of plastic... The snail may be going slow, but when he's done it'll be über-fast.
I'd like to point out that in German, "Schnell" means fast. Umm... okay then, moving on...

I thought of a potential route problem with Primo's run. I think it's impossible for Poison types to become poisoned, and Gengar is Ghost/Poison. So we'll have to use a different pokémon for the run. In fact, that fact blows out Nidoking or Nidoqueen too!

Well, is it actually possible to play it frame-by-frame, let alone savestate and record input? In fact, given that they're .exe files, if we could savestate THEM why not do TASes of other games? Dibs on Impossible Creatures Campaign when we get .exe TAS.

Interesting, but it's several seconds slower than the current run going forwards. In games like Super Mario Bros, you can fool around and go backwards because it doesn't impact the speed at all.

For those of you who can't see Rridgway's image, this should be better.
How does THAT work?
About HoF poisoning: I don't think it would work, because it would simply send you to the Pokémon Centre.

Just thing of what you might have been doing and keep running through different strategies. I once posted in the Pokémon Red/Blue thread "I found a trick to walk through walls, but I forget it". Just keep looking. What was your fighting style at the time?

Kamek.
Funniest video game character. My favourite quote?
I totally want Nintendo to make a game where this dude is the protagonist. Where you have to grow things to get past other things.

QuickNes is the only rerecording emulator with frame advance for Mac. As there are many Mac users who otherwise couldn't get their videos published here, how about encoders accepting .qnes videos?

Interesting thought. So does entering the gyms turn off walk through walls or what? I haven't been able to so any testing yet, so I'm kind of in the dark about lots of stuff.
About the Elite Four people: Are you sure that if you go to extreme left or right they'll still block you?

Another note: What's the poisoning plan? It might be possible to use potions to "adjust" the exact amount of steps that can be taken after a poisoning. Some trainers do have Ekans, which could be used for poisoning.
I think I know why the Safari Zone has different rules than poison. I once had a pokémon with 1 health that should have fainted when I stepped, but I saw a wild pokémon. I killed it, and the Pokémon fainted after the fight. However, in the Safari Zone, the rules are different. If you use the walk-through-walls trick and enter the Safari zone, you have 0 steps left and can walk around forever. So, if you saw a wild whatever in the Safari zone on your last step, you could go around forever. So, they programmed it to make that impossible.
On that note, trainer-fly could theoretically be activated on the last Safari Zone step.
On another note, I found that while in the Safari Zone building with walk-through-walls, the guy doesn't talk to you (unless you prompt conversation). So, in theory, you could skip the Elite Four guards. If you could maintain the walk-through-walls status.
@hanzou: Pokémon mansion? I thought that's where you get Eevee?
