LOL, firefighters who don't rescue people. About how long would a run be if it saved everyone?

Well, about 4,000 of those are cinematics. But otherwise, I was just... efficient. Tell me, where would you expect those extra rerecords to come from?

Yay! But Hanzou, did you test the idea with the bike? IIRC, it wouldn't work unless you used the bike for the inside-safari-zone trick either.

I just had a MASSIVE IDEA! Get the starter poisoned by a Weedle in Viridian Forest or w/e. Have him die while going over a ledge somewhere. In theory, this would result in him being warped to his house in Pallet and be able to go through walls!!!!!! I know that if you jump over a ledge on your 500th step while doing Glitch City, you'll be able to go through walls in Glitch City. I racked my brain for other ways you could warp while going over a ledge, and this was the only thing I could think of. Also, if it doesn't work, it might be possible to have this happen while going over a ledge on a bike.

Not a bad idea, MUGG. After all, some runs do have "warp glitch" runs alongside "normal" runs.

Anyways, White Land 2 is done (youtube on the way).
Goddamn, that's more impressive than the first run! On another note, that's one of the first videos I've seen on this site I can edit. I vote for all videos to be encoded as .mpg from now on.

Although it's arguable that not sharing WIP's could make you... not be aware of a desync.
Please, don't remind me... *sobs* I've had some bad experiences with both the Densetsu No Stafy run and the SMB quad run.

IIRC, the Mac version of Crystal Quest had a bot for the demo mode. It fired at the fastest speed possible and moved in a straight line to the nearest crystal. It had trouble getting past mines, though.

Sorry for this big bump, but my friend Flamegamer has found some interesting bugs in this game. 1. Bunny hopping Basically, you jump, then kick right before hitting the ground. You bounce and kick, giving an extra-powerful kick. Do it again, the kick becomes even stronger. 2. Trash can zipping An offshoot of the bunny hopping glitch that only works in 2P mode :P One guy stands on a trash can, the other guy bunny kicks it. ZOOM! 3. Bye Bye Boss! Against Moose and Thor, it's possible to kill them easily. Beat them to the ground (One bunnt hop should do it) then pick them up and throw them into the pit near them. Yay! I'll be running this game. Novice difficulty, 2P. I'll aim for entertainment and speed, mostly speed. I will fight Moose, despite his skipability. The pit glitch is just too funny to pass up.

Billy mitchell was awesome though because it states he used no set patterns, meaning it was just incredible skill instead of just memorization. I think the others that got the perfect scores all used set patterns. I'd do the same though.
Did you use patterns for your SMB1 runs? ;) On-topic I heard that one guy did actually beat 256. I'll see if I can find some info about it.

On another forum I go to, there's a rule that for a bump of a topic more than 3 months old, you need to PM a moderator and get permission.

$0. What a useless run. The point of TASing games like this is to get the highest score possible in the shortest amount of time.

I prefer getting them in little doses, rather than one big movie.

Not necessarily. The game has an RNG, which means it might be messed up at the point where Gocha showed the desynch. Because the enemy might go to the wrong place...

Uh-oh... I'll have to restart the WHOLE THING *Cries* This Video proves that the ROM was hacked. Damn intro hackers. It's like tagging graffiti on a building. EDIT: BTW, its Chamale not Chalame, JQX.

Oh, you need to enable left+right. There's a bug used in the boss fight.

Here's a very interesting idea for a SMW TAS: Fastest time to get 99 lives. I wanted to see this done for at least 1 Mario game, but when I thought about it SMW was the only viable choice. SMB and the lost levels would involve simply bouncing off a Koopa Shell 99 times. And anyway, the game doesn't display the number of lives the player has. In SMB2, 1ups are near non-existant. In SMB3, the current TAS is more or less the fastest way to get 99 lives. However, SMW is a good possibility. Basically, I think the route would be basically the current TAS until 1-castle. At that point, Mario would pick up a big combo by staying on the wires and stomping Koopas. Then the TAS would go to 2-1, pick up the cape, and fly around killing enemies. Then dive to the end of the level and hit the tape, unlocking a bonus game, where he can get all of the same item. Movie end.

What bug, exactly, causes it to be unable to emulate any Pokemon games for N64? I think Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 both merit mini-game TASes, and a Pokemon Snap score-attack would pwn! EDIT: This puts me at 2 posts per day! W007!

Yes, but the relevant question here is if the speedrun is entertaining enough to merit a publication. I love gameshows with obscure trivia questions, so this is great. It's like, UBER GENIUS FTW!

I think the problem with All-stars is that there's a bug where left+right makes the guy run at TOP SPEED with NO ACCELERATION TIME. I would prefer a run that starts from a savestate.
