As far as I know, it's one of the few SNES mario games that hasn't been run. Of course, there's also "Mario early years: Fun with letters" and the "Fun with Math" game from that series. That would be a quirky TAS, if anyone cares to try. Mario's time machine is about Mario going back in time to save things in the past that Bowser messed up.

Maybe... I haven't started yet, so it's a possibility. I'm still having trouble getting iMovie to play AVI files downloaded from this site. Anyone know how to fix that?

After the pokemon Red run is done, I'll get right on it. But I want to make the Pokemon red run ASAP because I'm worried someone else might impugn on it. Progress will go pretty fast once I get the Gengar/Nidoking/Nidoqueen to level 100, but until then it's hard.

I did some tests on my N64. The fastest time I could beat one level with 1 character was 40 seconds. Logically, with 3 you could beat a level in about 15 seconds. That's without any dynamite at all. It seems that I was wrong when I said the game can be beaten in 46 levels. It looks like it'll take about 60. There's about a 10 second delay between levels, so with 60 levels and 25 seconds each that gets you a run of just 25 minutes. About entertainment: Zurreco says this is too repetitive. However, there are various ways to take out buildings, and they vary by level. I think there are 13 levels, maybe more, with V.E.R.N. bonuses*. This means that 1/4 of the levels will involve simply finding the bonus, and pwning everything. * A V.E.R.N. bonus turns whoever gets it into a demon who can take out small buildings in one hit. Arguably the best power-up is Death Breath, which destroys multiple buildings at a time. Another good bonus is Hot Loogie, which burns down 1 building. Several levels contain "power-up" bonuses which let the character who gets them destroy large sections of buildings at the same time. Yet another bonus is pepper, which makes the character sneeze, blowing out a level of the building. Another trick which could be very useful is hijacking. You can hijack planes or tanks, and shoot out several buildings very quickly. Some buildings have an item in them, such as dynamite, a fireplace, etc. that destroys the entire building when activated. Quite a few could be leveled that way. Sometimes, though, it will be necessary to take out a building with regular abilities. Sometimes it will be faster to punch the sides with 2 monsters. However, there's a trick. It seems that there is no limit to the punching speed of the monsters when on top of a building. Basically, if there's a tall building that needs to be destroyed, one monster climbs up and punches the top at 30 hertz, taking it out within a couple seconds.

Are there any big changes for this, as compared to Pokémon red? I hope not, because then 90 minutes might be doable for a Red TAS.

I know what you mean, Jay. I think they designed this game so a speedrun would be really, really good.

I downloaded Mupen from Dehacked's place and decompressed it, and it doesn't even come with a program. It's just a whole bunch of weird programs, no actual emulator. I'm on a Mac, BTW. How do I get it to run?

I found that codec, doesn't seem to work, I need either a new video editor or something that lets iMovie play videos from this site.

I take it, then, that it's a board game type-thing. He claims to have beaten it in real time in 10 minutes, so it shouldn't last that long.

800,000 frames = over 3 hours. Even 80,000 seems high, at 22 minutes. Maybe you meant 8000 frames, a little over 2 minutes?

OK, that works. Thanks a lot. EDIT: No, it doesn't work. I can run the movies in VLC, but when I try to use iMovie, the Mac video editor, the videos are still blank.

I have a good Mac which I use to make movies. It is this computer I will use to make a "God Playing 2" movie. But, I have a problem. Whenever I download an AVI.TORRENT file off this site and open it with BitTorrent, the file loads normally. However, I can't see anything in the movies - just a white screen. I get a message saying I don't have the right QuickTime plugin. Does anyone know what I should download?

LOL, Dragostea Din Tei better known as Numa Numa. Imagine that: Miya Hee, Miya Huu, Miya Ho, Miya HAHA. Miya Hee, Miya Huu, Miya Ho, Miya HAHA. all set to video games. S.S.H's Merciless Goddess seems pretty good. I think I'll wind up using an SSH song, but I remain openminded. EDIT: When I posted that, I hadn't heard Travel Demon! I'm thinking Travel Demon=VERY YES! It doesn't leave much room for an intro, but that's OK.

Ooh... Post 666 for FractalFusion... dudududu... Anyway, does that inventory jamming thing work as effectively in Pokémon Red? Seems to me it does, but I've never played Pokémon Yellow.

Let me explain something about completion. My parents are divorced. At my dad's house, he has a crappy little Windows laptop that I can make TASes on. At my mom's, she has a huge, brand-new Mac which I can make movies on. So I figure if I make a movie, it should be a movie for TASvideos.org.

Stop spamming, Robbie (Ridgway). About Nidoking's DVs: Is that even necessary? I mean, I have a feeling you could kill the Elite Four with DVs of 0000.

Many people on the site have seen the God Playing movie made as an ad for TASvideos.org. I want to make another video like this, but with videos from the newer systems instead of all NES. I'd like people to suggest similar songs for the intro, main and credits. And maybe post a link to a music video or something like that.[/url]

I made a run of this. The run was absolutely, perfectly optimized. It was rejected because the game was boring.

@ Spikeman You don't really understand Glitch City. Not many people do. All doors are like a "warp point" for an area. The Safari Zone building is warp point 4 for Fuchsia. In the route north of Vermillion, for example, it sends you to warp point 4, which doesn't exist, resulting in the glitch. The route north of Vermillion yields an enormous Glitch City. Most glitch cities are too small to really explore. About Killer Clefairy: Whoops again.

I did manage to recreate it... It was essentially what JXQ described. So, I guess this trick can't be done on a bigger level. That, and the fact that I don't understand game mechanics well, and the fact that my test run is slower than Genisto's by 60 frames as of the end of level 1-1, I'm not going to attempt this TAS.

Pounded into oblivion by a Clefairy... So much for no damage. But you now, it might not be the fastest to be repeatedly attacked by Clefairy. There might be some enemies (I.E. Brock) where it's faster to take damage. Yes, that would be good. Have Onix use Bide, and get pwned by "unleashed energy" to almost 0 health, then later get pwned by a critical hit Pound.

I found an odd glitch letting you go through walls at top speed. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to replicate it. I'll try again and tell you if it works. I still don't know how it works, but it seems promising.

I'm trying to make a warps-using TAS of this game. I think I can make some general improvements to it. However, one thing confuses me. How does the trick in 1-3 work where he wobble back and forth? What does the input look like? (I.E. hold B, otherwise have >____<<<<<>____<<<<<)

A fair bit has been said since I last was here. Trainer-fly: Some locations might be passable with it. Of course, it does take a while to execute. And unfortunately, after getting Fly, there are few battles. Most of the battles are at that one place north of Cerulean, and that place east of Pewter. I might have missed a few big sets, but I don't think so. The only other place that comes to mind is that one dark tunnel, with an escape rope. Might work, might not. @Primo You mentioned losing to the lass with a Clefairy. How does that work? Using escape rope sends you to the last Pokemon Centre. It's closest to just use Escape Rope and walk down to the place with the Jigglypuff. That is, if Nidoking is quicker than Gengar.
