Hmm that's a pretty simple one really, however I would have a difficult time trying to implement it in the ingame any% unless phantoon drops something insane. Some very important refills are made in that room, it might be doable but the gains would probably suffer and be pretty small in the end. Same goes for 100% run where it is impossible to implement. Dunno about the realtime any% or the low% run though. Still a very nice find.

Hence why I have the "all or bust" pedagogue for this particular issue. If SM and AoS get more categories than are needed, then other games should too.
Well I agree that there are probably other games that would do good with more than 3 categories.

I would find it unfair if games like this and super lameoid are allowed to have this many categories, but so very often other games are denied it. It should be either all allowed or none allowed, and if some games aren't allowed more categories than it already has, why should this?
Well of course that would not work, some games, we can take Super Metroid as an example as you brought it up, have very good reasons for multiple runs. 100% low% and any% all delivers a thuroughly different route and overall differen experience (although letting my run get a 4th category was perhaps too much for some, I don't really see why it would hurt anyone) so not letting it have at least those categories would just hurt people that are interesting in seeing them. But just because some games have a reason for multiple runs doesn't mean every game has a reason for it. If every game would be alowed for example 3 categories that would just lead to pointless runs with arbitrary goals of games that you can't really finish in more than one way. Also Super Metroid is not lame >:(

No? Then tell me who gave Taco the motivation to start cracking Ceres.
Well if the only thing that can motivate him is the strive to humiliate others then maybe he should search for other sources of inspiration. Besides, Tacos finds in Ceres are (aside from being really clever) only special because of Saturns rambling, which we could have done without in the first place. You could see it like it was because of him that the new time was realised, but you could just as well see it so that because of him many people wasted much time to find single frame saves when they could have searched for more useful tricks later in the game.

Then how will we ever see his any% run?
Over there I guess.

Realtime or ingame?

Otherwise I have always provided a smv for them. And just to repeat what was said many times before, all my claims (no matter whether a smv is provided or not) are based on real achievements. I'm not that kind of guy who relys on simple thoughts, despite being right in 99% of cases in them anyway. It's just not enough.
Well what about having a 30 frames faster torizo fight compared to JXQ, you where holding that for a long time. (released it first when moozooh prefomed the torizo skip) Or having a ~50 frames faster phantoon fight than JXQ. (though no one ever asked for that one, and it's figured out now anyway) I'm sure there are more but I won't bother searching for them. The thing is that you mostly do what is much worse, you don't tell about your achievements even when they are highly relevant to others (for example 13 second faster MB fight that JXQ could have had in his 100% run and that jump in the first heated norfair room which has been relevant for basically every run out there) and as it recently became clear even lie about your achivements to make it harder for people to find them. I'll stop arguing now I think, I can waste my time talking to a donkey or a doorknob or something instead.

Many games deserve more than 3-4 runs, a great ecamle is this one that can have many very different and entertaining runs. Sadly it seems unlikey that it will happen in the close future :(

Maybe if you write about the improvements in this thread and about people you want to thank and so on someone could take the .smv and submit it in your name. Or you could just ask about what you don't understand about the guidelines.

Yes... Parhaps Saturns magic video already skips the torizo and the maridia green gate. You never know these days.

Well, if the mockball bombs would be so obvious for you to find, then it's really strange why you didn't use them in your latest WIP, especially when you say that you already had the idea to use them there. Seems like it wasn't the case after all.
Would be a waste to spend a hefty amount of time to optimize some really tedious mockballs in a testrun. He had that of improvements for a reason, to test all those hard to optimize timesavers later in the real run. EDIT: Oh my, too late.

I for one have never had trouble with the AI in neither MK Wii or MK:DD, they don't seem to hit me with more stuff than anyone else. (which is still a whole lot though) What I really miss in the Wii version is that you can't aviod red and blue shells, in DD I could aviod red ones pretty much consistently and blue shells could be avioded, though to a lesser extent and much more luck based. Still it's a good game, probably better than DD and definitely better for MP with friends who are not plaing it much. (I have noticed that I don't win by as much as I used to) Also the Wii Wheel sucks... I mean it is fun and all that once or twice, but it gives you about as much control over what is going on as being blindfolded with a normal controller to play with. If everybody but one is drunk that guy get's the wheel, to even things out.

Yes of course but it seems to me that they are getting lower still, and not only in month old publications. But then again I don't know how long it took for the movies I'm comparing to, to get the number of ratings they did.

Damn fine run up to this point, Great Armour rape was extraordinarily awesome. I really hope that you finish it this time, an improvement to Atmas run is long overdue.

By the way,are the quality of films and videos relating to the release time?
There is no absolute criteria that affects the ammount of time between submitting and publication, the encoders choose to encode what they want, when they want. The quality of a movie often do have something to do about how long it takes though, if a movie is of great quality it will take a shorter ammount of time to decide if it should be published or not. Movie legth also play in, the longer the movie is the longer it will take to encode once started. Also more than anything I think that game choice effects how long it takes. An encoder would obviously much rather encode a movie of a game he/she loves than one he/she doesn't even know.

Could anyone make a graph of the average number of votes (ent/tech votes after publication, not yes/no/meh votes) movies submitted for each month has been given? I have the feeling that the number has been decreasing and would like to see if there is any truth to it.

They aim for ingame time, Kriole mentioned it earier. I don't think they will use pause abusing though, that's just stupid.

Looks great, definetely suitable for a full TAS. One of the more entertaining N64 runs I've seen as many of them tend to get extremely hard to follow unless you know the game very well.

Some people have waited for several months to get their movies published. Don't complain, it will get you nowhere.
