Alright, went through it once, i beat it in 5 hours and 57 minutes, i missed something and i don't remember exactly which place the HP ypgrade is. I know where everything is and all, but just missed it somehow, maybe i didn't have an unlocler at the time. Anyways, i know i can do better, and i will. Besides, this was only my first try through the game as fast as possible...oh and i died 2 times from stupid mistakes. Oh well, practice makes perfect eh ^-^ i will retry tomorrow

So i take it that the implementing of rerecording for the windows version of ZSNES, they will also fix the compression of the movie recording i hope, cause otherwise, it would be pointless. Even if we were to make speedruns of snes games, snes games are generally longer than nes games. Also, you would have to do it in less than 10 minutes or the movie will mess up. As for the recordings i have already completed, i already completed *from beggingin to end* Breath of Fire 1, Breath of Fire 2, Illusion of Gaia, Earthbound, Secret of Mana and Twisted Tales of Spike McFang, but these are not speedruns, they are walkthroughs. All legit, 100%, cept earthbound which i cheated the weapons and armor, so i will need to redo that when i get the time. But if i start doing speedruns, i will not bother for awhile. ^-^

I am glad ZSNES will have rerecording support, i will have to redo many of the videos i have made. Cept now they will be perfect. Got a question about it though, will the output format of these movies be AVI or still ZMV?

hey hey, or Technos samurai, its alot like RCR but more oriental. Its very fun, very colorful changes in scenery and the music is awesome. that would be very fun to play 2 player, and if you dont want to 2 player, the 2nd player is normally controlled by AI ^-^

Ok, i meant by getting all the powerups, not the chips. Sorry, i wasn't specific in what i meant. Yeah, if i did try to get every enemy chip, it would take a very long time. I'll only get the enemy chips i can make use out of, like dash, double jump, cannon, invicibility etc...and those flower bomb things*forgot the name* very powerful. I'll pretty much just get the ones in my way, i may backtrack a bit to the last enemy if i don't think i have enough of that spicific type of chip though. Well, maybe i won't bother. I will start the run in about an hour and see how things start out.

I own the game for the gamecube, and i am pretty good at it. Thing is, i haven't tried a speedrun of this game yet. My normal time is around 5 hours collecting everything not going through as fast as i can. I was wondering, if i took the time to plan a 100% run of the game, would anyone be interested in it? I mean, it would take me some time to get everything down pat, but i played through it around 100 times already. It won't be a no hit run because it won't be played on an emu with replay ability, and if i record the run on a vcr, you will see where i try to replay it.... unless i break it up into parts. Like for instance, when i beat Gutsman, i could save then start the game back up for another part of the run, but i find breaking runs into several points isn't as interesting, at least IMO. I would rather see something played in one full run. Alright that being said: Would anyone be interested in this? Does anyone have any suggestions on which is a fast way to go? Should i make it a 100% speedrun? It will take awhile to perfect, maybe a few weeks. I will try to go through collecting only the enemy powerups i need. Only thing is, sometimes, i will end up getting a few extra's because they may be necessary if i botch up a shot. i "Believe" i am good enough to go through the game without dying, but i will make a few runs before i make the official run.

i downloaded it 148 times...you know, just to make it look popular <_< >_> <_< >_> ok well, i didn't, i was kidding. I never really noticed it. But maybe alot of people were interested in checking it out, i mean, there was quite a few speedruns of Mario 1 trying to get through it with warps ASAP, but maybe people also like to see all the stages played through and the strategies that go with it. Well, maybe there are no strategies for mario 1, just fly through the stage pretty much ^-^ ...just a different way to look at it.

Smokey's run was very good, and i saw several mistakes he made. If he perfects his last run, it will be even faster than this one.

A video for Punchout! has been made already on www.speedruns.org Bart vs the space mutants was a very boring game IMO, i used to own it, i made it to the 4th stage then shut off the game and never touched it again. umm...here is some more ideas on what you can do if your interested ^-^ Adventure Island 2 Astyanax Bonk's Adventure Breakthru Bucky o hare Faxanadu *not sure if this is too long, but very interesting nonetheless* Legacy of the Wizard Megaman 6 Q-bert *would take thinking, skill and reflexes* Mario 1 and 2 *speedrun of all levels completed* Thrillas Safari *the monkey dude skateboarding* Wizards and Warriors 1-3 *3 especially* I was gonna make a speedrun of samurai pizza cats, but i don't think i can do it with famtasia cause it is an illegal header or something like that... Maybe with virtualnes?

Its not hard at all mate, all you need to do is load up the emu. Then load up the rom. Then push esc so you can access the menu again, click on Misc then on movie. then hit record. Thats all, then whrn you want to stop the recording, hit stop.

So far the only emulator with recording is ZSNES. You can do speedruns etc, but you can't rerecord. If you are to record, you will probably want to use .989c or earlier...actually, just use .989c, cause the compression of the video on version after the version mentioned breaks and the movie will do odd things, like your char will do things you did not record.

I recorded meselfplaying Castlevania SOTN before, it was a 6 hour tape, i beat in like 5 hours, getting everything. It was interesting to watch, i also made one of star ocean 2 the second story but i had to use 2 tapes, was 12 hours. If i had a device that could let me copy the movie to my computer, i would redo castlevania SOTN, i think i am very good at that game. Star ocean 2 i will not do, i dont have a big enough HD to fit that whole thing on. Also boring to watch.

Well, i just finished watching them. I must say they are much faster/faster paced than Mike Larson's runs. Double Dragon 3 i especially liked how Phil used a variety of attacks, it was much more interesting to watch, same goes to Double Dragon 1. And the way you used your attacks...very slick, like in the second stage, there were a few enemies running after you while you were taking on an enemy in front of you, you stopped attacking and did a jump kick hurting the enemies behind you as well as in front of you. Most people just move out of the way...ok well i do anyways. Haha, and right when Chin came out of the door to attack you, you did a spin kick knocking him to the floor before he started talking, i found it a bit humorous how he then said how he was gonna take you out. I know its just a game, but i don't think anyone would be that cocky if they were on the ground abount to be pummled. A hell of a lot better than i was ever able to do ^-^ Thank you mate

Thanks for the tip Boco, i never knew that. ^-^ Hehe, those metal slimes, those infamous little buggers you love to hate. Yeah i remember never getting to fight many cause of them running away like that. I thought you were referring to beating those starwingers...well, i dont remember what they are called. They look like a bee, but with a pinkish body and a stinger, their heads look like a sort of bird.

Heh, i done alot of SNES games as well, but in a few, i died a few times, i do more full walkthrough and how to aqurire everything though. But, i do talk with with Mr. SAturn and we give each other idea of what to do and comments on what we missed in our videos and what vids we can do next. I have seen his video on Seiken Densetsu 3 and i must say, if you like watching rpg's played though, your gonna be amazed. This guy is soo accurate its insane. My videos, if they are rpg's, i usually spend time in certain areas leveling up to a certain level before i move on, so its a bit boring, but i usually dont stay in ne area long. You should check out my Illusion of Gaia vid i created, i think i did a pretty good job. I also did run with Earthbound*but i cheated the weapons and Armor, so it needs to be redone* Spike Mcfang, Breath of Fire 1, Breath of Fire 2, Secret of Mana, Illusion of Gaia. If your interested in these videos, go to http://www.inside-gaming.com/~turbo/romvids.htm . My bud was nice enough to host these for me, although there isn't a page 2 yet so don't bother clicking on it yet. There is only 3 up so far and the descriptions are inaccurate, i will send him the other vids and descriptions when i have the time. I hope you enjoy these vids. Oh and unfortunatly, i wasnt able to set up the rom in the zip file with the .zmv, but i believe all the roms are the (U) version. EDIT: oops, forgot, you will need ZSNES.989c to run these vids. The newer versions, they have changed the compression of the videos and because of that, they tend to break after about 10 minutes. I mean like the char will do stuff you dont want, like walk into the walls randomly, attack mid air or do nothing. so you will not advance on in the game.

I got the same error mate, but all the other fmv's seem to download just fine. Maybe just an error when setting it up for people to download?

Hehe, i would be very interested in this as well, i played through the game but it took me awhile, over 3 hours, but i also leveled up to level 30 and tried to get everything. One thing i didn't know is that you could encounter an enemy giving such a high amount of exp so early on... but wow, to think that enemies that you encounter later in the game would be alot harder :/ EDIT: link isn't working -_- DAMN YOU GEOCITIES *Shakes fist like an old man in a wheelchair yelling at kids trampling on his property*

I would like to start recording games for this site, but the thing is, im completely new to the emulator and the way it can be used. 1. When i complete a game, how do i go back and change things i realize i can do faster? 2. Also, i am not sure how to play the emu slower than normal. I tried a few things in that speed option but i am having trouble.
