I think adelikat's run is more entertaining....
You highlighted the wrong word. Your synopsis is extremely biased by your opinion. I honestly don't care who wins this frame war, but I thought both had entertaining moments. Its pretty clear past 8-2, HappyLee changed his technique, from what he learned from the Extra Mario Bros submission. Before 8-2, I'm pretty sure its identical to the current published run, which no one said he jumped too much... until now. His current run has wobble running, adelikat does not. I found that entertaining. Also, adelikat bested him by 3 frames, and he in turn bested adelikat by 2. It takes 2 to tango. Lets try and stop from making opinion sound like fact. Whoever wins the frame war, wins. Both are doing their best to add entertainment to the runs.

maybe the recent ammount of "fake submission" will change peoples minds...
I'd say that thread was 50/50 for/against. It really isn't THAT big of a problem. Plus, the site controllers are pretty bogged down just keeping the (new) site running. If this trend of craptacular movies continues, it may be worth the effort to change the rules and code. That decision is not up to me, or anyone short of adelikat and Nach. Although, I had a few movies canceled or rejected before I became good enough to submit publishable TASes. Maybe this is just the inherent learning curve to TAS publishing. A simple copy/paste of the rules link when rejecting the movies may help slow the amount of repeat offenders. Also, address the fact that 'Being new doesn't mean that your movie is given special treatment.'

This is what, the 10th+ submission in the last month from someone with zero posts, without reading the rules? Valsso with 2 SMB hacks, 3 from GTimekiller who ended every movie at the credits end? 2 SMB64 crap from sonicmason 2 from Arykado and dantybelmont, which were useless. 3 from charles1q2w, which were possibly just trolling. Wow, I may even be forgetting some?

Uh, I wasn't trying to 'help' the discussion of the 14%. Its a discussion whose time passed a while ago, yet keeps getting coughed up repeatedly. It was stuck in the submission queue permanently, screwing up the submission page formatting, with the most ridiculous half rejection message ever. It was absolute absurdity, as absurd as lesbian campers in SPACE. I was stating that, in a humorous manner. Negativity? Did you see the guy beating the dead horse? Hilarity!

I'm also against un-publishing for entertainment purposes. The rule breakers should go, much like the Crystalis video did. Also, Phil's 'gift-to-himself' publication should go, or at least be re-voted. Also, I fail to see the benefits of removing publications. Are they causing the site massive distress, simply for existing?

No one can help that you are badass, but it will be obsoleted... (hopefully sooner than later, I'm looking forward to that run.)

Oh god, its like Freddy Kruger or Jason Voorhees. No matter how many times this discussion gets killed, it keeps coming back from the dead. Seriously, how many iterations till we get the totally absurd Jason in Space sequel? I'm not going to bother arguing points for or against this. Everything that can be said about this has been said 8 billion times. Instead, I'll use a favorite gif.

Neither can you clearly define all 240,000 species of flies by the word 'Fly.' It is a categorization, like this site attempts to give. Whether or not it is accurate? Who knows. Don't attack the goal, attack the metric by which the result is achieved.

I feel that Extra Mario Bros is so far from the original game it hacks, it deserves to be a separate game. The mechanics are totally different, the (majority of the) sprites are totally different, about the only similarity (as I see it) is the glitches that are abusable.

Doomblade is a great weapon. It does insta-kills randomly. Problem is that it 'steals' the hero's turn if it decides to kill someone. Has to be equipped to work too but you don't actually need to use attack action. For example: hero could use healing ring but in the battle Doomblade strikes one enemy dead and hero cannot perform the action (using healing ring). I have tested this many times. Its behaviour really differs from other items. But I guess it's no use in this TAS however. And can anyone remember what did the Magic Mirror do? "Deathpaw Item: 6A Magic Mirror Drop Rate: 1/256" lowest drop rate?
Hmm, it would REALLY speedup the run if I could simply doomblade Darksol and DarkKnight out of existence. These should be easy to check... The question is, do I get the Forbidden Box just to dance, if that is the case? Also, magic mirror can reflect spells. Tried this against Darksol/DarkDragon. but I think it fails on multi-target spells. Also, unfortunately, the Demon Staff's muddle does not affect any of the 3 big bosses. If you play the last WIP in the thread, I pick up a Magic Mirror, thinking I could use it. If you want to play with it, that would be the easiest way to get it.

Gens 11a. I thought that was the standard of the site. Upthorn said, iirc, that version 9.5b and earlier desync with games that initialize the SRAM at some 'early' point in the game. I'm sure he could fill in more technical details.

LOL, Bisqbot used to respond with witty comebacks whenever you said something. I was curious if it would also message these. Its a bot, so I didn't think I would hurt its feelings. In retrospect, I realize I probably should have said BisqBot, Fuck you, if I wanted a response. Also, cursing at is not the same as wishing death upon :)

I tested the Mercy Staff, here: http://forums.shiningforcecentral.com/index.php?showtopic=14723 Also, Item drops and rates, from the ROM, here: http://forums.shiningforcecentral.com/index.php?showtopic=11852&st=25 I'm actually wondering if three battles would be faster than the 1 battle and way off the path route to get the current set. Problem is, manipulating encounters is the hardest part of manipulation.

IIRC, The Mercy Staff only casts Heal 2, which restores ~60-80 HP. The Heal Ring casts Heal 3, which restores 100% HP. Its out of the way, but I need to go most of the way there to get the Frost Armor (which could be replaced by a drop) and the Light Blade (which doesn't drop). All of these would be replaceable with drops, (Get enough armor to reduce Dark Knight's Damage, get a Mithril Sword Drop, get a Mercy Staff) but the sum total of time for each battle would far exceed the amount I have to go off path. Plus, the Mithril sword doesn't increase awesome blow %.

I agree with the general consensus. Everyone knows at this point you can jump backwards in a mario 1 game. Yes, jumping backwards adds entertainment, on occasion. That doesn't mean you need to do the entire damn run backwards jumping. I really want to see this hack published, but dang that is hard to watch.

I honestly wonder if consoles aren't doing that already, and if not, why not. What's the big deal? Almost everyone nowadays has an usb keyboard and mouse. And if they don't, they are really cheap.
I will agree, that as far as accuracy and control, mice are better than an analog stick. But, the controller has a superior reason for existence: These games were meant to be played by the average Joe, not the elitist PC FPS player. Controllers allow for you and your buddies to sit on the couch, and play video games. While you claimed (whined because you lost) that it isn't intuitive, it is more likely your familiarity with a keyboard/mouse combo that made it feel unintuitive. I'd also say the popularity of Halo makes this statement completely invalid:
