So I'm curious about something: is there a workaround for the [graphical] glitch that occurs when you loadstate in certain rooms?

You can still talk to them at school. This discussion is largely irrelevant to the topic.

It gets considerably more difficult when the people you're working with live thousands of miles away.

They've done YI2 already.

I agreed with you about my skills at TASing, comparing to them, but not about getting descentrelised, since it's actually really really easy to organize this kind of things on a TAS, even if it ware 10 persons working on it.
I'm actually organizing a larger TASing collab (eight people IIRC), so I know that it's not extremely easy.

To tell you the truth, I'm faster than ism on the project I restarted, for about 50 or 40 frames...
1) ISM wasn't on that list, so I don't know why you're bringing him up. 2) You're saying you're "better" than ISM because you used a glitch that hadn't been discovered yet when he did it? I don't understand that logic. Either way, I think four people working on a TAS is plenty at once--any more and it just gets too decentralised.

To be fair, you aren't at their level of skill in the first place. I'd say that the 100% that has yet to be started is a dead topic for now (or at least until bahamete finishes up TSRPR).

"Cheat code" implies external help. It's something that the devs left in the game, so it's more-or-less valid in that regard.

Voting no because of this reason.

Okay, so I'm working on a complete disassembly of Mega Man X right now. I suppose this could prove to be useful to some people around here in the long run, so I was wondering if anybody wanted to help me document RAM addresses? I have a WIP RAM map right now, but it's pretty small thus far. I'll post notable findings here, if people want me to.

This argument has gone on for way too long. They're seriously never going to start at this rate. Each of the four TASers have stated their opinions in private chat, and the ruling is 3-1 in favour of not using the Chuck glitch at all (the 1 was for going all-out). The decision should be up to the TASers themselves to figure out, and while I like the idea of asking for the community's opinion, the arguments are never going to stop because there's always going to be some filibuster. Christ.

But, it does say that the Earth and everything on it were created in seven days. And that's the time that everything would have had to evolve.
Does the Bible explicitly state that New York City was already created after those seven days? Because evolution isn't limited to physical changes - it extends to technological changes as well. Four hundred years ago, a self-powered form of land transportation was total blasphamey, but society evolved and it came about a couple centuries later. That is, unless you think that the world didn't exist before you were born.

I'm not going to be conducive to this topic because I think it's absolutely stupid to discuss here, but:

I legit facepalmed at this. It's been a while since I've read such a downright ignorant statement such as this.

The stun glitch is quite the amazing phenomenon, I must say. Very nice work on Bowser. I'll encode this, but it'll have to wait until Monday afternoon or so before I can start it, so anyone else can do it if they want to before then (but tell me, so I don't encode for no reason).

I don't see how completion using the goal sphere is less entertaining that completion using the Yoshi wings (or whatever they're called). Both completely bypass the level. I don't see why people find the wings acceptable but the goal sphere significantly less so. Both are about equally boring, IMO.
Yoshi wings can only be [ab]used in the level you're currently in, while the Charlie glitch lets you get a goal sphere from one level and use it in virtually any one you want.

but would anyone be against getting the goal sphere again from YI1 again since they would be right there anyway?
I would. Redoing a level for the goal sphere isn't very entertaining, in my opinion.

While i wouldn't mind some occasional backtracking, that wip was quite boring.
You can't backtrack in some places, but not in others. Either you do it whenever possible, or not at all.

I generally agree with JXQ, but I guess I'm ok with the no backtracking rule (no death abuse or start select). Either way, I still think there's probably room for two 100% runs.
There's always room, but it's extremely unlikely that you'll find another person/group willing to make an equally impressive TAS.

I disagree. Going back to levels you've already played just to skip new levels deprives the run of content and, in turn, hampers its entertainment value.

The idea to go all out seems like a decent one, but then does "all out" mean we can write 96 to the exit counter and be finished possibly faster than the glitched run? Obviously not but you see that "all out" doesn't really mean so, and we have to draw a line somewhere.
100% doesn't mean getting all of the exits, though - it means playing every level to completion.
