What practical joke were you referring to?
On this thread, anything between these two symbols: <> gets erased when the message is posted. So whenever someone posts the code, if they don't replace the first less-than sign with "not greater than or equal to", the code doesn't display correctly.
My intended joke on top of that was to put a bunch of lorem ipsum spam in between the <>, counting on the fact that it's still there on your server even though nobody sees it. : )
Are you saying that you didn't do the <> thing on purpose?????

Note that Upthorn's idea, sprintf("%s.%d", $x*100), does not do right, because x.05 formatted as x.5 equals wrong.
I think that was my idea. : ( You're probably right, though. A long time ago I self-taught myself C++, so I'm more accustomed to the iostream library. I only know a little bit about the C-style printf functions, which is why I figured that something was probably wrong in my code.
Anyway, that's why you're a computer software engineer and I'm not! ; )
Edit: it looks like you turned the joke feature off or removed it. But upthron and I both knew it was there. You overlooked the Preview button. : )

I think I should try to make a speedrun for this game. After all,my nick name is the same as the vigorous dolphin:)
I'm all for it. Be sure to study the tricks used in the Ecco 1 run, and good luck!

This debate is never going to go away. Never.
I say that we leave the "Concept Demos/Other" category alone, and choose what goes in there on a movie-by-movie basis.
If anyone asks for the specific definition of a "Concept Demo" or "Other", we can reply that the movies are chosen on a case-by-case basis, and that the final authority rests with the judges and administrators of the site.
That keeps things simple, no?

And Deep Loner, is the "-Neo Shinryu" thing illegal? If it is I will stop.
No, it's not illegal or wrong in any way. I was just point out that a signature would eliminate the need to type that at the end of every post, that's all.
It is a little redundant, since your user ID is printed next to your message, so we already know who the author is.
But it's your choice.
Edit: Also, regarding Bisqwit's question:

I'm curious, any particular reason why you are using a proxy?
Do you know what that means? Are you accessing the forums from, say, a school or public library?

Neo Shinryu is too POLITE to get banned!!! Let's drop that whole topic, OK?

Here's another tip: use a signature instead of always having to type -Neo Shinryu manually.
Eventually I'll find something intelligent or witty or humorous to put in my signature.

I would like the ability to generate a list of which threads I'm watching (for topic reply notification by e-mail) because I do find it hard to remember sometimes.
A small suggestion...

Like, duh.
I was frustrated that you didn't follow the topic before posting: a legitimate complaint, but I shouldn't have taken it out in the way that I did. I'm sorry.

I do have to wonder how feasible this approach would be on something like, say, a four-hour RPG game. But maybe I'll try it out someday! ; )
Thanks for all the encouragement, guys!

I did a quick search (another useful tool), and the only relevant post I could find was here.
I don't understand why it says "guest" though, because one has to register in order to post.
Edit: Bag of Magic Food writes two posts later that this user was banned. I guess you're not the only one who can't read. ; P
One of his names was "Shining Shinryuu".

Sorry if I sounded too harsh on your other thread. A lot of people ask obvious questions and then get indignant when we tell them to read the FAQ.
In my mind, it's questionable if an all-emeralds run of Sonic 2 would be accepted. There was an all-emerald run made of Sonic 1 that was rejected for not adding any entertainment value to the existing movie. The all-emerald run for Sonic 3 + Knuckles was accepted because it did add entertainment value because of the super/hyper effect and because it used Knuckles instead of Sonic. Sonic 2 is on the borderline here, so I don't know.
I'm certain that this idea has been discussed before. Peruse the Sonic 2 thread to catch up on the discussion.
By the way, welcome to TASVideos.
