Comparison videos get painful to listen to if the sound gets badly out of sync. That only happened once in this run, fortunately. If you make a comparison video for a run where the music doesn't reset as often or where the improvements are more frequent and/or drastic, you might want to consider only pulling sound from one of the movies. It'd also be neat to show the per-segment improvement and the total improvement so far. That said, thanks for making the comparison vid! It was fun to watch.

Generally for automated image processing I turn to ImageMagick, but that requires knowledge of the command line. It may not be any faster but at least you can queue up each action in turn, leave it to run, and go do something else.

Ah. So basically this is a solo-Kevin run, with two extra junk characters along to pad it out and provide 1-damage pokes. Interesting.

I must have missed something; if you aren't going to class change, then how are you going to keep your damage high against the later enemies? As I understand it, Kevin's glitches only improve his base strength, which is severely capped if he doesn't class change. The other two characters would basically be useless for damage.

That kind of attitude will break down quickly if they continue to find more improvements in earlier levels, though. Is it worth redoing a one-hour movie for a 10-frame improvement? Probably not. For a 100-frame improvement? 1000-frame? You have to make the cutoff somewhere, and it depends largely on how big the improvement is compared to how much of the movie you've completed, and how willing you are to redo segments.

I'd say that if the improvements would gain you more than 1% of the length of movie that you'd have to redo, then it's worth redoing; otherwise, just carry on from where you are.

Watching everyone get level after level has its own amusement value, too.

I wouldn't recommend starting on getting the aboveground CDs until you figure out a way to get the belowground ones. They'll need an entirely different type of glitch to access. In fact, likely you'll need some kind of savefile corruption, or some way to get Rush Dig into Forte's inventory (which I'd guess means corrupting weapon data). I don't think anyone's done any research into that kind of thing for this game yet.

Y'all are aware you can vote for more than one movie, right? So you can choose your top 3 or whatever.

Thanks for the encode, Undie. The game seemed decent; saved from generic walk-right-for-justice by the variety of moves the main character can do. Yes vote. Is this game yet another recreation of Journey to the West? I got a definite Goku vibe from the protagonist...

I've definitely read in the past that you can get different behaviors for the dragons, so it's not an emulator thing. I'm not sure what it depends on, but if I had to guess it's an RNG check that's set when you start the game/load a password (noting that presumably passwords don't encode the RNG state, so reloading the password could still get you different behaviors).

Can't you hold L or R to have a different character talk to the storekeeper?

Why the two values for the Wind god-beast? For when the perspective changes? Why would you need to buy armor?

But this is not the point here. We're talking about building rapport with the interviewer and passing the image of a friendly and trustworthy person. Not according to society's or the company's measures, but thinking about the interviewer only.
If you're going to test people skills, you should actually test people skills. Not the ability to guess what a person with good people skills would say. More than that, at any job you need to be able to get along with your coworkers. This is why you get interviewed by your coworkers (and are in turn interviewing them!). In short, multiple-choice tests are practically worthless in this setting. They have little value in most settings, for that matter.

I'd prefer an employer who asks questions that are pertinent to the job at hand and is capable of judging my personality and skills in an interview and a short assignment, instead of relying on a standardized test. That said, I've never encountered this test in any of my job hunts.

But there'll be a huge uproar over the whole process, too. How much does the pixel trick reduce entertainment? It didn't bug me any, but then again if it were in a longer movie it might start to grate...I don't know.

VirtualBox is its name, yes. You'll need a Windows install disc either way. With Boot Camp, you set up your computer so that when you start it up, you have the option of running either OSX or Windows. With VirtualBox, you can run a copy of Windows inside OSX. You don't need to reboot, but you don't get the full use of your processor (since some of it is dedicated to running OSX) and VirtualBox can't make good use of your graphics card. Still, it's more than sufficient to run FCEU, the only one I've tried. I suspect you'd have trouble with N64 and PSX (and some arcade) but that other emulators would work fine.

Not before someone makes an actual game out of it, presumably. Despite the name it is merely a simulation / sandbox right now, which doesn't really lend itself to anything beyond playarounds.
