why you didn't try to keep your speed during the 2-2 miniboss fight?
To tell you the truth, I didn't stressed that strategy out, so it may be possible to time my jumps to hit the boss on the first possible frame. I´ll try it tonight, thank you, Tompa. edit; I’ve managed to keep a little of the speed gained from going down the slope on the 2-2 mini boss fight, and somehow, he died with one less hit! (sorry, it didn't, guess I was asleep...) Then I got a desync on the Walrus fight while I was splicing the movie, but that was a good thing, it was improved a bit too and the run is 85 frames faster now: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/11159078583960174

The speed gained from going down the slope is lost when Mickey steps on the root, but the next platform is too high to reach without using the root, so no, no way.

I like it, so here goes another yes vote to your run, Newpants87. My suggestion if you’re going to watch it on the emulator; use the Super Eagle’s filter - it’s beautiful this way. Off topic: the name Shere Kan made me laughs for some stupid reason...

I had this exact same thought while working on this stage, but no, it is not possible because after a conversation or a collection of an item Donald activates a sort of checkpoint near that character.

Yeah, those bats are really annoying, the last one still is at least. I'm still on South Pole, but testing the up+down on Hideout I noticed the music is completely different on REV01. edit; the South Pole skip as promised, and the new Hideout music; http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/10493924627404782 edit; Um... I can use the plunger on Pete with no time loss, well, since I don't need to switch weapons, I think it will be even faster. So, that seems to be it, see you in the workbench in a few days :)

Thank you, guys. The power walk (um... I need to find another name for this trick) still have something I can't figure out, and it's exactly this; when I need to press up+down. The way I'm doing, I have to repeat the up+down every 19th frame, but sometimes it lasts up to 40 frames. Don't know whats the requirement for it to last for so many frames... anyway, I'm on my way to South Pole again, and the up+down can be used to show off while I ride the "thing that flies".

Thank you, thommy3. The Plunger, even creating a lot of lag on Dracula’s fight, is 16 frames faster than any other weapon. The new WIP is still far from the South Pole skip, but I want to show a new trick to collect the Viking Key; http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/10429176598229892

Searching for "last boss glitch", I found this video (around 4:25). I can't understand what the guy is talking about (German?), but it seems he's using the plunger to do the glitch. I'll test it.

Thank you, Mitjitsu. I read someone complaining about the use of (REV00), so I'm using the (REV01) of the rom, that may be the cause of your desync. Do you think the trick can be useful in other boss fights as well? I'm about to fight Drácula so I'll PM the guy who found that trick to see if he wants to share it. I noticed that the bosses have "hit points" instead of "health points", so I can't think of any faster ways to beat them.

Okay, I will :) I'm still far from South Pole, but I managed to make this work;

how-> break the first cube, clip a little into the left ledge, crouch and shoot. I want to show it in the next wip, but the power walk is a really time consuming technique, so it will take a little while.

Another one of my "rise from your grave" posts, sorry :) I'm working on an improvement to Mitjitsu's run. Also, sorry for the lack of a wip to show my progress, but I'll post one soon, for now here's some of my discoveries; * walk is faster than belly slide -> slide, get up and power walk * you can jump in mid air -> power walk, duck and jump * you can enter floors while on ladders -> press ^+v on ladders

Sounds good, but I'm working on one of your old suggestions; Donald's Quack Shot. I found some new tricks and I've already finished Mexico, 957 frames ahead.

Sorry to be reviving such an old topic, let alone one with so little interest. I was trying to improve the SNES version of Pitfall, but found nothing worth a new run. The Genesis version, on the other hand, has quite a lot of new tricks. So I'm working on an improvement to Beelzebub's run. The new tricks include; shooting animation cancel, walk through walls (just one of them so far) and a more optimized overall movement. The new run will be ready in a few days, so, well, that's all. See you soon with my first Genesis run. edit; almost done, I'm at the auto scroller stage, the mine cart-esque stage, 5600 frames ahead so far. edit; just the WARRIOR SPIRIT to beat, it will be submitted soon. edit; oh, oh... a new glitch. It may save time on early levels, so I'll have to test it a little bit more. It's a Sprite Limit trick; by throwing a certain number of rocks at the same time, some objects fail to spawn. edit; nah, only important things like platforms fails to spawn, so it's a useless glitch, but I saved a few more rocks to fight the WARRIOR SPIRIT now, so, that's that. edit; and here it is, 7391 frames faster; http://tasvideos.org/4098S.html

Seems nice, but I can't think of any practical use for it. When I was working on my run, I poked some memory addresses, mostly the horizontal position of the pilot, but unless you beat the final boss the Nitro won't spawn, so I only managed to get stuck or killed :(

When I saw the first wip I knew the game would be broken, but not that broken! Wonderful work THC98.

No, floor 17 on the original is completely different.

here's the solution :)
I don't know how that guy solved it like this, but I believe he is cheating... I came up with a really tedious solution, here's a screenshot: http://i40.tinypic.com/2566a7s.jpg edit: Well, I have to apologize; the guy is not cheating in the video, he is just using an item to solve the puzzle in a fraction of the time I spent here, I’m sorry. The item, a Magic Lamp, allows the character to pass through solid objects when you hold the X button. What he did is actually so simple that I’m ashamed to say that I’ve played the game for so many times without figuring out the use of those "Magic" Lamps… So, despite my stupid mistake on Floor 17, this game is quite enjoyable to play and I’m working on a play through to see if it’s TAS material or not. Thank you guys for the replies, I’ll post the results as soon as I finish the game, see you. edit: the game has some potential, but there's no support for it on the TAS emulators, so it's not possible to TAS it yet.

The most puzzling puzzle of all time, it's part of Namco Anthology vol. 1 and is a remake of Babel no Tou, or Tower of Babel. I played this game for the, well, a hundred times? But I still don't know the solution for the floor 17; I searched high and low, but no dice. Looks like no one played this game besides me... So, if you happen to know the solution for this floor, I beg of you, let me know. I'm about to go crazy.

There was a holiday here, and since I don't have internet connection at home, I was not able to reply earlier, but I like the one you suggested. I'm sorry about the edited screenshot, I could swear I've mentioned it in the submission text. It won't happen again I promise. Thanks everyone.

The surprise I was working on ended up being a really, really bad surprise for me :( I showed it to some friends and they said that I need more practice, well, actually they said it is awful... talk about frustration here. So, I'm just finishing the submission text and it will be submitted tomorrow. The new run is 1990 frames faster than my first attempt. edit: It's already there; http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14414

Thanks, but don't worry, unless we find something really big, there will be no v3 of this run. I'm still working on the Last Stage, but I'm already making the submission text, so, it won't take long for this run to be on the workbench, thanks again for all your support and see you there then. edit: I'm preparing a small surprise for that submission, how long it will take depend on how things work out. edit2: The run is done, but I'm still working on that little surprise I promised, so it will be ready in a few days.

No, that's not quite what I mean, I can open any SNES rom, otherwise they wouldn't appear on the Recent ROM list. The "Exception during loadgame" error only occurs with Zipped SNES Roms, everything is okay with Zipped GameBoy, NES and even Nintendo64 Roms. I’m sorry if it only happen on my end, I don't want to report false issues, but since I only play SNES games on BizHawk, this error can get kind of annoying when one needs to break and resume a TAS session over and over again.
