People writing "TAS" on their runs are trivial, but with so few blocks sure is something we don't see very often! But it's not the highlight of the run to me, I liked it all, so, did I find this run entertaining? YES!

Weird glitch, but it's a very long time since I last played this game rescuing all of the Modokons. Are you sure you're not missing anything? Here's the FAQ (I think) that I used: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/198221-oddworld-abes-exoddus/faqs/27495

You should play Exoddus on PCSX-rr, here's the correct, well, the better video plugin: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=179164#179164 but to TAS it, you must use the TAS video plugin, and bear the horrible graphics... About the glitches; all of them are based on the auto turn delay, even the Stop & Turn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIo1TJUBGlo

Then how's this a legit "New Game +"?
Well, something that must be tested is if the glitch can be reproduced without the new game. I mean, using just the completed game and then playing tracks mode with 2 players. If so, the new game is just a placebo and the run will fall into "is a demonstration" category instead.

No, it won't. You can't even play Hot Top Volcano if don't beat it first in Adventure mode. But... since it seems to be an any% run, wouldn't it be better to beat the first Wizpig? This way you can start from a clean SRAM and avoid a lot of trouble with people wanting to prove that you cheated when you didn't.

Almost one year since I last touched this game, but I think I have the memory addresses used to create my run. If so, I'll bring it tomorrow to you, but I think the enemies in this game have "hit points", I mean, you have to hit them a certain number of times regardless of which attack.

Judges can make mistakes (I'm not saying this is the case; I'm talking about this run that got accepted.)
(RingRush's Croc any% "glitched", judged by me) I feel really bad about it to this date, that's why I'm not judging PSX runs anymore... But a verification movie didn't helped me in this case; I should have enabled Read/Write and actually TASed the last part of the run to be able to "see" RingRush's cheat, unfortunately, I did not.

I found it pretty boring; player 1 just sits there all the time. I'm voting No, sorry.

How could I have failed to notice this run on the workbench yesterday? Too bad I can't watch it right now; still working... I'm downloading it to watch at home tonight, but by all the comments, I'm sure it will be good. edit: (a little late, but still) And it was damn good! loved the chicken collection too, I can't vote anything other than YES.

The 100% is still at an early stage of development, but the Stop & Turn trick already saved time; 8 rescues, 838 frames ahead so far. edit: oh, oh... with those new tricks it's a lot harder to plan anything ahead, so I'm planning "on the fly" :) 10 rescues, 960 frames ahead. another edit; a hard drive crash forced me to restart the whole thing... yet another one: I managed to save part of my old hard drive, luckily, the movie file too, but my images of the game found their way to oblivion, so, it is on hold. edit: Not on hold anymore, all of my lost CD-Rom images are back :) edit: yeah, I love to edit my posts :) 33 rescues so far, more than 5k frames saved. edit: the v2 of my 100% run is up and running, here's a wip: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/4879271791501047

As others have said, it may be improvable, yes, but in a game as complex as this one it will be even when we think there's no more improvements to be done. In any case, I found it to be really entertaining and I'm all in favor of it being published. In other words, BIG yes vote :)

This is one of the few Wii games that run at full speed on my old PC, and since I don't have a Wii, it's also one of the few Wii games that I already played. I'm going home now, but I'll edit this post tomorrow with my thoughts about the run. edit: Can't watch it either, movie ends as soon as the game starts :( let's wait for an encode then.

@ Slamlaptop; Ha, ha, you're right. Those programmers should have used an easier name on that stage... what the heck is Monsaic anyway?

Yeah, my bad. Pretty much like the use of "optimised" instead of optimized, but I'm trying to memorize more English words as I find them. edit: okay, fixed and "memorised" :)

Yeah, I'm already planning some of the rescues, the Stop & Turn trick can make wonders! But I hope that one day the PC version of Exuddus becomes "TASeable", I really do.

Sligfantry here. @Dooty, Seeing as the DDG can be done with bees, what about trying the shots from a slig.
I tried for, I don't know how many hours, but looks like there's no way to do the second jump when; 1 - shot by a Slig 2 - attacked by Scrabs or Paramites 3 - bitten by a bat or a Slog If you can find a way to set the DDG in Scrabania and enter Scrabanian Nests as a dead Abe, it is possible to skip Paramonia. I can set the DDG in Scrabania, in a door with the flying mine, but then I can't finish the stage :(

Btw2: Is the ghost elum glitch really necessary? Does it make the run faster?
Without the glitch, we would have to grab one more stone to blow a mine which the invisible Elum can simply walk over, it saves about 60 frames.

I was twicely wrong! Um... twicely, is this a word? anyway, going into the background doesn't cancel the death delay, Sligfantry, the guy who found the glitch says that jump in a well does; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d394vrsfeA also, it IS possible to set up the death delay in Mozaic Lines; you only need to let the bees attack you twice, and when Abe's voice get really high pitched, jump! sadly, there is a really high ledge in Abe's way, and it seems impossible to set the "backward jump" after the death delay trick is set.

Yes, in real time it seems too risky, as if you fail Abe dies for good. But it's the same trick Sligfantry used in his video of Exoddus, so it must be possible in real time. antd made an encode of my submission; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeQP8INOxHs The first backward jump is just to avoid the lever, the skip itself is around 29:22.

Thank you for the encode, antd! Sorry about the desyncs, there's three images of this game floating around the internet, and PCSX-rr says that all of them are SLUS-00190. In one of my edits of the submission text I said that Paramonia and Scrabania could be skipped with the death delay trick, but apparently I forgot to read my own submission text...

It's not possible to reach Mozaic Lines as a dead Abe, but even if it was, being in the background would cancel the glitch.

It's the auto turn delay, but instead of climb down, you must try to climb up the ledge. The skip of Scrabania and Paramonia turned out to be a massive waste of time. With the current known tricks only Zulag 2 can be skipped, sadly.

Unfortunatelly, I don't know how to encode :( I updated my submission with the skip; http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13577 But with this new glitch, the backward jump, I'm really close to skip Paramonia and Scrabania altogether.
