You can say that again, it's really well done. The part where Gambit dances to the music, the one I mentioned in my previous post, is simply one of the best ever made in my opinion.

edit; @ moozooh; 1 = No. I did the comparison after the toads lose all energy. 2 = Yes and yes. All segments are equal in speed, but staying on the right side seems more difficult. 3 = No. You slow down if you jump. Also, sometimes you can run, by pressing forward twice, but then you can't turn around as fast as walking, thus it's slower too. Finished watching the NES run; Let's see if I got that right; ~10 seconds of an almost unnoticeable dance in Snake Pit? To be honest, I was hoping to see something like X-Men in Arcade's Revenge, oh well...

I'm watching that run right now, and trying to assimilate as much as I can. Rest assured that I'll put as much "dance to the music" that I possibly can in my next run :)

No, sorry. Even though there are still possible things to improve, it's not in my plans to start it all over. Entertainment: 6.5.? Pretty good. This is above the average of some of my runs, so thank you!

Wrong, Fuzz breaks the obstacles with his buzzsaw and he does not slow down doing so.

Thank you very much, all of you.

the stage only ends when Fuzz crosses the line, right? Perhaps you could've made the race a close call at the end for entertainment.
I hit some obstacles when I was testing this stage and it slowed me down a bit, but the faster you finish, the sooner Fuzz appears at the end. edit: um... thinking about it now, it may be possible to save ~16 frames if you hit the obstacles with Pimple and finish as fast as you can with Rash, this way you would clear the path for Fuzz.

What is the camera bug in the second "checkpoint" of the rat race? is Pimple actually falling too fast for the screen to keep up?
I tried to reproduce that glitch a few times, but here's what FODA said about it on the original run's thread;

that problem was caused by snes9x emulation, it doesnt properly emulate that level's plataforms and foreground graphics on some parts.

It's on the front page and, as you must have guessed, I've spent the other holiday working on Battlemaniacs... I'm seeing the test of BT&DD increasingly far from being ready and so I'm giving up the idea to run this game for now, sorry.

Yes, it must be done with 2 players. I finished the run, and it will be submitted in an instant! edit; typos...

Oh, oh, the testrun will be delayed a few days :( when I got home that day, I was making a last save state to put Battlemaniacs on hold when the solution to Snake Pit hit me like a brick in the head! Well, when I realized I was fighting the Dark Queen... so, I'm so close to finish the run that I can't stop right now, sorry. There's still one holiday coming, and I'm sure I can start working on the testrun then. anyway, the Snake Pit will not have the glitch to finish the stage on the right side, but a faster solution instead; a punch on Rash's face and he is on the platform with the stage's exit :)

So, that's it; the BTinBM is officially on hold in favor of BTandDD testrun. There will be two holidays this week here where I live and I will have plenty of time to work on the run.

Don't worry, I will :) I love to post wips, but I was losing it due to people not asking for them or even not commenting whenever I released a new wip, so I thought it was kinda useless to keep posting them.

That's a real shame that the NES is so superior to the SNES versiom :( But it's early to say something based only on assumptions, I'll start a testrun as soon as I finish the BTinBM, or even before, as it's taking longer than I thought, so we can compare both versions more in depth.

EVERY final blow has ~8 frames of lag on NES.
I'd say that this is a good enough reason to use the SNES version, but be faster is not always warranty that a run will obsolete another. I wish that the two runs could coexist, not eliminate one another, but that did not happened with the previous run made on the SNES...

SNES, 2 Players, as fast as my free time allows me to dedicate myself to the run. and by the by, I love to watch NES runs, really, but I only play SNES games, maybe because I never owned a real NES? I do not know, I never owned a Genesis also, so that may be it :)

I hope so 'cause I'm strongly thinking about finishing this run on Snes9x and start a fresh run of Battletoads & Double Dragon on BizHawk, yeah, I'm that much unsteady...

Thank you feos, I'll try to implement that on v2, when I noticed you can "run" on stage 2 it was already too late. I'm not going to lie to you; I borrowed the NES' run style a little bit, but I'm also trying to make "The Silliest Run of 2012" :)

It's really sad that we are so close to the glitch but can't use it yet. in any case, I'm switching to BizHawk and maybe the glitch decide to cooperate now... here's the test up to Snake Pit, made on Snes9x 1.51: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/1726431628576403

I knew you'd understand, besides, I'm not exactly an expert on arcade games (I still remember the Combatribe's fiasco...), I'm sure another TASer will do better than me. But let's get back on topic :) I still can not skip the first stage, like on PJ's video, but I have a theory that can explain how the glitch works; hitting the skeleton in the first possible frame and start running in any direction causes the skeleton to be pulled in that direction. I believe that PJ somehow managed to pull the background instead of the skeleton, so I'm testing this theory whenever I find a skeleton.

Don't tell me, I can play most of the Wii and GC games on Dolphin at full speed, so CPU power doesn't seem to be the problem, I just don't know why it's running so slow here :(

Wow, thanks a lot, PJ! about Biomechanical Toy; My computer can't handle this game very well, the frame rate is so low and the sound is so noisy that I almost got a seizure... I know it may play fine on the encode, but that's why I'm redoing Bttletoads; I like to watch the runs on the emulator. I don't know if it will be submitted or not, in any case I'll put it on my storage, it may encourage the authors to redo their run at least.

I was trying to watch this run on the emulator the other day and went into a lot of desync problems, basically every time I save or load a state. So, what? Well, I'm now trying to improve it, not the time itself, but the "playability" on a newer, more stable emulator. I'm working on Snes9x 1.51 while I'm waiting for the next version of BizHawk that will accept DirectInput for the hotkeys.

Thank you, mklip2001. Megaman X2 will be then, thanks again. sorry, Odongdong, I was editing my post for so long that you posted before me :) well, I never did any Metroid run either, let's see about that too. edit: Metroid is calling my attention more than the other games, so, you can expect a Metroid run from me in the near future. edit: there's other much more experienced TASers working on those games already. I'm working in something else, sorry.
