I can sense a bit of sarcasm in your post subject, and I'm voting NO just because of it.

TAS Movie Editor has made the file size 80 MB.
I just found out how to fix this the easy way; open your file in TAS Movie Editor again and instead of Save, choose Save As.... edit: it fixed my 128MB DKC3 file, but somehow it made your movie unplayable, this fixed your movie: open your 80 MB file in Snes9x and create a save state, open your Saved As... file, toggle your movie to Read-Write and load your save state, toggle again to Read-Only and it should work again.

I would not be so sure, I can't stand playing Crysis 2 on Xbox just because of lag.

I remember when they put the screenshots of Luigi's Mansion and Bust-A-Move running on Dolphin. Back then it barely went to the title screen of those games. Now, it emulates lots of games perfectly, if not better than the original console. I was waiting for a GC game to be the first Dolphin submission here, but then I stumble upon a Wii submission, and a really good one to say the least. YES.

I'm comparing when Gambit touches the upper platform, he is way behind there when he take damage. Something I forgot to mention is the awful luck with the bad guy on the inclined platform, he refuses to duck kick, and just like the brown guy, no matter what I do, he just want to punch, really bad luck. Donkey Kong Country 3 is taking all of my spare time, so I'm not going to work on this anytime soon, but thank you anyway, and if someone else wants to take a crack at this game, please be my guest.

Okay, I'll put your idea into practice then, (I'm stuck at Kreeping Klasps anyway...) thank you. edit: I was counting it all wrong, take damage is actually 1 frame slower: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1751282869/X-Men-Damage-Test.smv Why? I'm on the upper platform 8 frames sooner, but 17 pixels behind.

Um... real time? well, it sure seems faster, but it would be nice to see it optimized so we could compare.

As promised, Mekanos is done so here's the first wip, 640 frames ahead: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1436469601/Dooty-Kong-Country-3.smv

That's the spirit NitroGenesis. I'm glad you understand, and I hope my test run can be of some use to your improvement.

So it seems X2poet, but I guess I'm a little impatient to wait for his answers, so I'm testing the game to find out and... I'm sorry NitroGenesis but your run have major improvements on the character select screen and on the first boss fight. edit: here's a test run beating the first boss 1269 frames faster: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1656585175/CarRangersTestRun.smv

Is it also faster against bosses? You also said that the bosses can't be manipulated, but what about their energy?

Looks like it might work, I'll test it to see what happens. Sadly the game is not hex friendly, so if it work, the rest of the game must be redone as well. edit: here's what I came up with: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1867678366/X-Men-MutantApocalypse.smv the brown guy is too strong, also he doesn't want to duck no matter what and it ended up being just 2 frames faster...

You bet it is, mostly because of the green banana bonuses that must be manipulated. Luckily the any% doesn't have much luck manipulation. edit: Lake Orangatanga and Kremwood Forest done, but since they're basically "throw Dixie at warp barrels" kind of stages, I'll post a wip as soon as I finish Mekanos, where I'm testing some of the 105% things.

Sorry to resurrect such an old topic, but I guess here's more suitable to say that I'm implementing some 105% tricks onto the any% run, let's see if it will work. There's nothing much new to apply though, so it will not be based only on speed, I'll try to do some "speed entertainment tradeoffs" whenever it's possible too.

Thank you for the encode guys. I'm still not comfortable to switch to a new emulator, so I'm back to my favourite, the Snes9X.

Oh man, your last boss fight was horrible, watch guacho80's boss fight to know what I mean. I'll refrain from voting until you improve it. edit: I'm sorry, I know that I was rude to say that your boss battle was horrible, but you can improve it, just manipulate the boss better.

Thank you guys, turning off background #3 kinda solved the problem, but the life bar is also gone... wierd enough, I've tested it on Snes9x 1.52 and it plays your movie perfectly, with no graphical error! too bad TAS Movie Editor makes your movie file so big, it's an invaluable tool, some of my movies would not exist without it.

I know it's kinda off topic, but why is your .smv file about 10mb in size? edit: sorry to ask such a question (again), but how do I fix this graphical errors?: by the by, despite the .smv file being that big and the graphical errors I'm getting, it's playing fine here.

You're right, during my tests I never got it to work, my bad. but... you must kill a brown guy to make he respawn on that platform, also you must recover from a knock down, and it takes too much time. anyway, I'd love to see it working, but the odds are against it working.

I was also working on a run of this game, but lost my .smv file and my motivation due to a virus on my computer... looking forward to watch your finished run.

Hi, since it's not yet encoded, I just fixed one of those mistakes, is it possible to replace the submitted file by this one? http://www.mediafire.com/?i6a009gqa666n5g if it is, how do I do that? it's already replaced edit: it fixes this mistake: Rescue Mudokons # 96, 97 and 98 before Mudokons # 94 and 95 to avoid back track. about the other possible improvements, they cause too much desyncs, so it may be fixed on a future run.

@ Warp: I was referring to the second usage, but I'll put it on the Possible Improvements section anyway, thank you for pointing this out.

Walking is in fact slower (Mudokons # 62 and 63, sorry about that), but some mudokons react faster than the others when a Slig says "look out", they will stop whatever they're doing and only then will hit the deck (Mudokons # 68 and 69). about the invisible Elum, it's faster than pick up an extra rock to blow the land mine where the Slig fell to his death.
