Yes it is, in Abe's Oddysse, unless you use an old plugin the graphics are corrupted. I'm testing it with PSXJim, but I don't know how to change the plugins in this emulator.

I'm doing some tests to grab the first Gem asap, but I'm having some trouble to find memory addresses in this game, anyway here's my first attempt: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1084809279/DootyMarvelSuperHeroesWarOfTheGems.smv edit: I found the X speed address, but it only works on Dr. Doom's Castle: 7E0263, 2s edit2: the Time Gem (Red) increases only your walking speed, almost useless on a speed run. Now, I'm trying to manipulate him to give me other Gems. edit3: no way, the other Gem he gave me with manipulation is the Reality Gem... anyway here's another wip: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/422242145/DootyMarvelSuperHeroesWarOfTheGems.smv (~20 seconds faster than this old TAS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7suMqZbOmNw) edit4: more memory addresses:
7E0263,2s Dr. Doom's Castle
7E0273,2s Alaska
7E03D3,2s Boston Aquarium
7E02A2,2s Amazon
and a small update on the wip: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1734266902/DootyMarvelSuperHeroesWarOfTheGems.smv edit5: almost there, just two more stages to go now. (btw, I'm almost breaking my "edit record" too...) edit6: here it is: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1820127033/DootyMarvelSuperHeroesWarOfTheGems.smv (too bad, I didn't break my record... maybe next time.)

Thank you guys. I was thinking to move to another emulator, like PCSX, but since the games that I want to TAS are not very well emulated yet, I'll stick to the Snes9X a bit longer.

It's a really good game, I remember it was even compared with some PlayStation games back then. I'll give it a try, if there's no one else doing it already of course.

Same as the above answer, except the comparison with PlayStation games...

Thank you, the most useful is the speed address: 7E0C1A, 2s. I'm still trying to beat Magneto in one combo, like Omega Red and Exodus, but looks like it's not possible, and this may be the movie I'll submit: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1519839846/Dooty-X-Men-Mutant-Apocalypse.smv (00:49.60 seconds or 2976 frames faster)

Thank you Randil, I'll watch it as soon as I get home tonight. edit: overall I'm faster than your wip, but your Beast stage is 101 frames faster than mine! redoing...

Thank you Nibelung. Cyclops, Psylocke and Wolverine's stages are done, I'm in the midle of Gambit's stage but I saved just a few frames :( Anyway, I'll post my results as soon as I finish those starting stages as I'm playing them in a different order: Cyclops, Psylocke, Wolverine, Gambit, Beast, Psylocke and then Beast for the remaining stages. edit: found a small time saver in those moving platforms of Gambit's stage, and I'm pretty sure it can save some time in other stages as well, so I'm starting it over again. edit2: All five starting stages done, 00:21.18 seconds ahead (1271 frames): http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1628894148/Dooty-X-Men-Mutant-Apocalypse.smv edit3: almost done, I'm doing the Magneto fight right now. more of Nibelung's suggestions applied: Omega Red finished in a single combo, the same for Exodus. 00:43.33 seconds ahead (2600 frames). I'll post a new wip as soon as I finish Magneto's fight, I'm having a hard time to manipulate him...

While I'm waiting for the new version of PCSX to continue my Oddworld run I'll try to apply the improvements proposed by Nibelung, the author of this run: Points to optimize •Cyclops Stage: At frame 2196 i forgot to make a jump. I just noticed this when i was already fighting Omega Red, and I didn't wanna to come back to the start of the movie because of 10 frames or less. •Beast Stage: Better Strategy to kill the sentinels (jump-hit-hit-hit-DoubleHit Headbutt doesn't kill them)... ...and so on. Since there's (apparently) no glitches found in this game, the only way to save time is through optimization, and that's what I'm trying to do.

Sorry laranja, but Tompa found an interesting way to save time on menus of DKC3 and it can be applied in this game also: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1445478683/Dooty-Aero-Fighters.smv (24 frames faster) Anyway, that's not the reason I'm voting No, but for game choice, it's not a very interesting game, sorry again.

I kinda liked your run, but I think you should try the arcade version as it is way better. I'm voting Meh.

Dude, this game is pretty boring, and the music does not help either, I'll give this one a No vote, sorry.

Another one of those favorite games of mine, and you played it beautifully. What I liked most were the boss battles, especially the fight against Flibby, the ladybug. Yes vote of course.

Outstanding! Even though not flawless, as you took damage in one of the endurance matches, it's an easy Yes vote for me.

Thank you guys. There is almost no information about this game on the internet, no walkthroughs, glitches or tricks, so, some strategies may not be the fastest, but I took some time to test alternative ones and this is the best I could do.

Terrific! I'm a little dizzy after seeing so many crazy stuff, but I guess I can still hit the Yes button.

Can anything else be done? (to reduce lag)
Some lag frames will happen regardless, while others are related with Zenki's attacks, for example the Rudora Attack generates ~30 frames of lag.

I myself have tried to make a TAS of this game a while ago, but those damn autoscroller levels made me give up ... anyway i liked your run, especially the boat stage, so you got a Yes vote from me.

This run is probably like 25% Tompa and my own work,
ElectroSpecter is right, up to Low-G Labyrinth I reused his and Tompa's wips, so, the authors must be Dooty, ElectroSpecter & Tompa. I'm editing the submission text to include this and will post it here as soon as I finish. (I'm at Mekanos right now) //The submission text is getting a little long, so I better not put it here, but it's getting good, it is based on the official players guide and I think you'll like it. I did not mention any names on it, so we can easily edit it if necessary.

Thank you guys, I would like this to be my Christmas present to the community, so I'm devoting all of my spare time on this run. /okay, the run's done; http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/217741452/Dooty-DKC3-105p.smv Thre's some things to fix here and there, but it will be in the submission text as "possible improvements".

Those guys are really helpful, Tompa pointed out a big mistake in Barrel Drop Bounce, and it was corrected in this wip; http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1844438167/Dooty-DKC3-105p.smv /I promised to go slow this time, but Razor Ridge was just "copy and paste", so here's a new wip; http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1041523622/Dooty-DKC3-105p.smv //my copy and paste skills are worth nothing in Creepy Caverns and Lightning Lookout, but I'm almost done with Kaos Kore.

Sure it is, a good addition would be the speed of the Toboggan, and also the Boat/Turbo Ski Boat.

Thank you guys, I'm doing Mekanos at the moment, as it gave me better luck than Cotton Top Cove this time.

no, Arich is Tompa's suggestion, I mean a sacrifice in Squeals on Wheels that saved some frames in Springin' Spiders.

pretty bad luck on some of the banana bonuses, but those time savers were implemented along with a new one; http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/297114593/Dooty-DKC3-105p.smv
