Here we go! Instant stars (2 Stars) Super Mario 64 "0 star" Gunstar Heroes "2 player" Yai! Easy stars! SMW (1 Star) SMW small only SMW any% I'll vote for the any%. Sonic (2 Stars) Sonic 3 & Knuckles Sonic Advance 2 Sonic The Hedgehog Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Here I think we save time by directly starring Nitsuja. If the Sonic Advance 2 run is the one that requires a camera hack to follow Sonic, I guess it's hilarious enough to warrant a star. I still vote for Sonic 3 & Knuckles as my choice for "beat two games with one input", heh. Super Metroid (1 Star) Super Metroid any% glitched Super Metroid any% real time Super Metroid any% ingame time Super Metroid 100% I would vote Super Metroid 100%, but only the version made by JXQ as the most recent one makes the mistake of taking away the input animation, which was the sole reason (for me) to watch it. If not, I vote for the any% glitched. Metroid (1 Star) Metroid Zero Mission 100% Metroid any% Metroid Fusion 100% The new Metroid Fusion 100% run was added here. At this point, Zero Mission is the most popular, so it's yellow. If you disagree with this, speak up! ;)I don't enjoy the Metroid series, so I haven't watched these, except the NES any%. I'll refrain from voting here. Megaman (1 Star) Mega Man 1 Mega Man 2 I vote Mega Man 1 again, as it's the most broken game on this site. Rockman and Forte (1 Star) Rockman and Forte any% Rockman and Forte “100 CDs” Not voting here, as I haven't watched these. Zelda (1 Star) The Legend of Zelda Links Awakening DX The problem with The Legend of Zelda is that the cool glitch is missing from the current run. I'll vote it anyways, but down know if it is a good candidate. Castlevania (2 Stars) Castlevania Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance Castlevania: Circle of the Moon Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow Circle of the Moon has the best music and giant bones. NES Castlevania will get my vote instead of HoD because I've remembered how popular it was among those that played it, and HoD, hilarious as it is, looks and sounds like the banned episode of Pokemon. Wire TAS (1 Star) Ninja Five-0 Umihara Kawase Spiderman 3 Bionic Commando Ninja Five-O, though Bionic Commando kills hitler and aims at the cock. Special concept (3 Stars) MMX+MMX2 Gradius Kings Bounty Monopoly River City Ransom Lost Vikings Vote for Gradius, Monopoly, and Lost Vikings, and would also add River City Ransom. Vote against MMX+MMX2 because when shown side by side, the input for both games seems different all the time (that's why I said it sounds better than it plays). By the way, Lolo + Defender of the Crown also belongs to this concept. Lolo for the win! NES games (5 Stars) Super Mario Bros 3 any% Excitebike Battle of Olympus Ninja Gaiden 2 Darkwing Duck Mega Man 5 Gimmick! Super Mario Bros 2 Journey to Silius Arkanoid “Warpless” Legend of Zelda 2 Battletoads “2 player warpless” Here I vote again for NES warpless Rygar for awesome glitches and music, SMB 3 any%, Ninja Gaiden 2 (though Ninja Gaiden has the best music theme ever), Zelda 2, and Excitebike. SNES/Gens games (2 Stars) Biker Mice from Mars Sparkster Donkey Kong Country Golden Axe Rocket Knight Adventures Comix Zone The Mask I vote for Golden Axe and Comix Zone. N64 (1 Star) Majora’s Mask Goldeneye None for now. The N64 section of this site is underwhelming. ._.

That was fun, in a deranged sense of what fun is, of course! I'd feel bad for those boys that got this game as a christmas gift. Good to know the good guy wins and the evil guys die horribly with their eyes popping and ears bleeding (from watching and listening to this game's graphics and music, respectively). Edit: Heh, For some reason I can make bigger the Reply box, cool!

Okay, these are my votes on the categories made by Baxter, from an entertainment point of view alone as I haven't made any TASes. Super Mario World (1 Star) Super Mario World any% Sonic (2 Stars) Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Metroid (2 Stars) Super Metroid 100%, Metroid any% Megaman (1 Star) Mega Man 1 Zelda (1 Star) Legend of Zelda Castlevania (2 Stars) Castlevania HoM (glitched), Castlevania: CotM (non-glitched) Wire TAS (1 Star) Ninja Five-0 Special concept (2 Stars) (+1 star) Monopoly 4cpus, Lost Vikings (3 players), River City Ransom (playaround) NES games (3 Stars) Ninja Gaiden 2, Warpless Rygar, Zelda II (or Arkanoid) SNES games (2 Stars) -1 star Sparkster Genesis (1 Star) +1 Gunstar Heroes “ 2 player”, Comix Zone N64 (1 Star) -1 star Mario 64 0 stars is enough to represent this category, and it also has links to the more-complete runs in its description. No need to star the others, too. : P EDIT: Changed "SNES Prince of Persia" for the as-yet-to-be-published Sparkster run, even though it's a bit too close to the Sonic runs.

Dynamite Headdy is fairly a good game, and the movie is very entertaining. But I think Gunstar Heroes “ 2 player” is better... Golden Axe is a typical beat-em-up game. But I haven't watched the movie... Comix Zone is a unique beat-em-up game. But...
From those, I've seen the last three. Golden Axe is a very funny watch, as the player manipulates most the monsters to kill themselves while avoiding any hit, very unconventional. Comix Zone is also very impressing. I don't know which one I enjoy more, as I've seen both many times.

For groups I suggest the following two categories of runs. I must say beforehand that in my experience (about 30 people) they are either wildly popular or heavily disliked. (Marked with Asterisks the ones I would suggest) 1. Glitch Festival Examples: *Sonic 3 & Knuckles, *Rygar (either version), Zelda II, *Mega Man, Pokemon, NES Strider, Comix Zone, *0-star Mario 64, Zelda 2nd Quest. 2. Skips most of the game Examples: I think Baxter knows all already, but specially the ones that also belong to the first category, like the Castlevania ones. The group that disliked those two categories enjoyed the most the luck manipulation ones, and the ones that shown amazing skillplay/playing with death, while not using any bug/glitch that looked "cheap". 3. Exhibition/plays with death: Examples: *Ninja Gaiden I & II, Arkanoid, Ghost n Goblins, *Mario 3, *SMW, *River City Ransom playaround, Genesis Golden Axe, *SNES Prince of Persia, Super Bomberman 2 (last levels, mostly), Gunstar Heroes, *Sonic 2 and Ninja Five-O. However, both groups enjoyed any game they had previously played. In addition, I suggest 3-players "Lost Vikings" as an alternative to 4-players "Nightmare on Elmstreet".

I think Umihara Kawase makes for a bad starred movie as the game is obscure, the graphics are weird, and the gameplay is uncomprehensible. I'd vote to bring back the star on Monopoly as it's very short and the best example of luck manipulation in a well-known game that is infamous for how long it usually takes. Also, it's a game that people that have never owned a console knows. Though I won't vote about keeping/taking away the star on the dual Megaman X & X2 TAS, I think that it is a concept that sounds better than it actually plays. I miss the stars on the rygar runs, oh well. :(

Pokemon isn't a bad idea, but I don't think it would justify the length of the movie, which would necessarily be greater than that of the published TAS (which is already very, very long to most people.)

I'm usually more curious about how many obsoleted versions are for a given movie and their respective times. It's also a chronological listing, but probably not as useful.

If you disapprove of new categories purely because they are not the bland and unoriginal fast as possible with no other goals, then don't watch, the movie's not for you.
Well, if the other categories are named "faster ingame time" and "lowest percent" and none of them fit their own criteria, it's really difficult to defend them using only common sense. The controversy/joke is people trying to keep them anyhow, and finding a way to empty the meaning of those categories to make them blurry and subjetive, and thus evading obsoletion. I remember seeing other submissions having alternate files where a certain glitch isn't used, but these usually complement the same submission, not create a different category. And I don't mind people having egos, as long as they use it for good purpose and don't hinder other people from doing the same.

this run should be able to coexist with the 6% run because that run uses gamebreaking glitches, where this one doesn't.
That argument would work if there weren't other published runs of this game that don't use gamebreaking glitches, either, while also being faster, better at showing all features in the game, and/or cooler.

How many times you catch and even surpass the roadrunner? This TAS is hilarious, and much more awesome after having seen the previous attempt so you can understand how crazy this one really is!

I watched it and understood nothing, it went so fast! What are you doing with the priestess on the first teleporter after you beat the boss? It looks as if you lifted her skirt or something. Hahaha.

I'm waiting for this, and I'm happy to hear the amount of improvement you have found. Anyways, you can take all the time you want, guys, there is not deadline to miss. Just wanted to say that there's public for this run.

The run started slow and boring, but by level 3 it got as fun as exciting as any other Ninja Gaiden. Thank you for playing around during the wait times!

Sorry to rerail, but I prefer any% runs, as 100% runs take longer, some of the optional achievements are dull, and generally, the longer a movie is, the more repetitive it becomes. I still prefer 100% to low%, though.

Is this not also the case for 'hard line' christians who are against things like homosexuality? There's a lot of stuff in the old testament particularly about god destroying entire cities, etc. It seems hypocritical to me that a christian would follow only one half of the bible, or whatever.
Hey, I'm a Christian and I only follow the new testament! ò_o

This never gets old. Hah! Each step get this closer to the Mario Bros TAS record, in fact, if not taking into account the first minute that is spent on cutscenes, it's actually faster. Will watch after it's published, which I've no doubt will be soon.
