Well, this time I just want to ask, if a 1-player movie is done faster than a 2-player movie that is published, will it be accepted? And even obsolete the 2-player one or just be sorted in a new category?
If a 1-player movie is faster than a 2-player movie, then a 2-player movie should be made that uses whatever tricks have been discovered, if at all possible. If that's not possible due to the nature of the trick, then the different movies become separate tiers. The exception to that is if the 2-player movie was done with exceptionally poor optimization, in which case it would be obsoleted.* *I have to qualify this whole paragraph by saying that this is just my observation of how things work here.

The movie aren't working lol
I solved the problem. I'll report my findings here in case it can help anyone else, though it doesn't seem like anyone else has had this particular difficulty. The movie wasn't necessarily desyncing, but Mupen wasn't able to save anything to the gamepak. Hence, the movie couldn't possibly get past the menus. To solve that, I had to change some or all of the plugins. For the sake of completeness, here's what I changed to: *Mudlord's Rice v6.1.4 *Azimer's HLE audio plugin *TAS input plugin *Hacktarux/Azimer's RSP Booting the game like that, I was able to save an agent file. The movie then synced perfectly after I switched back to the movie plugins, thus causing my brain to explode out my ears and nostrils. It was well worth the trouble, let me tell you. :)

WWF: Attitude. I played a 1 vs 3 exhibition match as a create-a-character. That's pretty much all you need to know.

Re-did my TAS of this game again. This time, it is 33 seconds faster than my previous! And big thanx to user silverjazz for helping me find a clean ROM, cause I actually used that to re-do this TAS for superior improvement! The record now is 10:14.27
Congratulations. :) I gave it a once-over last night. The only glaring fault I found was around frame 15,000 where, as bartman, you flew into a wall. I can't be certain that there's an improvement since I only tested this bit quickly, but it does look like you could have saved 15 frames. Also, the "Snow Burns" fight is likely improvable with better luck manipulation; Burns appears in the center hole and there's a delay before you hit him.

I liked it. The old Air video wasn't as interesting to me without having seen this for comparison. Since the converse of that is also true, publishing this as a separate tier might not be a bad idea.

MKII by a wide margin. Aside from the magical nature of the entire video, I doubt there would be any TAS at all if not for the glitches.

Heh. You asked for it. ;) Hoe has written a frontend for running fcm/vbm files directly from explorer, which makes movie watching incredibly convenient. I don't know how complicated a task it would be, but could you add smv support for this tool?

You can play in Snes9x version 1.51. Just don't load any savestates.

Bisqwit (a biscuit) wants to prove he is the best video game character of them all. To achieve that, he starts a journey to defeat all of the other well known characters, they'd be the bosses. His huge advantages over all other characters include the power of slow down/frame advance and rerecording/save states. After defeating a character, he receives some (or exactly one) of their abilities.
Copyright infringement FTW. ;) FWIW, here's my idea: A 3D game written with SDL+GL as APIs, in C++. Think of what you'd get if you crossed Super Mario 64 with River City Ransom: a great physics engine, a shopping/upgrades system, and some intensely cool fighting. The design would take into account that the player has superhuman reflexes, and can see well into the future. IE, instead of "acro circus" you'd have some ability that is impossible to control in realtime. In fact, knowing that people would be TASing it, I'd lean toward designing it as an interactive or "dynamically choreographed" action movie rather than a normal game. There would be plenty of room to strategize and experiment to find the best ways of doing things, but the camera controls would be a lot more flexible than what we're used to.

New years is a pie. Or is it a cake? Maybe it's only 2012 that's pie, and the rest are cakes. Jappy new year to you all, regardless.

I also try to make the two bonus levels enteresting, complete with 8 consecutive crotch shots in the first one.
LMAO! I thought I noticed something... The vulcan usage toward the end was awesome. Very climactic. Two thumbs up.

I wouldn't bet on getting a TAS of this game published. There was a submission a long time ago, and as you can see, it was 75 minutes long.

Sweet! I can't believe there isn't more interest in this- the WIPs have been awesome so far.

I'm using anti-ds, I have the right rom and all the settings match up with the video, but it desyncs in the menus and gets stuck in "select a file to delete". Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

There isn't enough room to slide under. If you tried it, you wouldn't be able to clear the spikes, and would be instantly killed.
I'm just saying, he could use whatever leeway the spikes will allow to edge closer to the koopa, let it hit him, then run on through the rest of the level. I tested it just now, and it seems to have saved about 50 frames... but does something go wrong later in the level, doing it this way?

Nice improvement, technically and stylistically. I was wondering though, why did you kick the koopa into yourself in 1-6? I know you needed to be small to get under the spikes, but wouldn't it have been faster to duck-slide into it?

It is palpably awesome. Half an hour is a bit of a stretch, but it's definitely worth seeing. Hope to see an improvement down the line. Yes vote.

http://librivox.org/squirrels-and-other-fur-bearers-by-john-burroughs/ I've "read" about 50 audiobooks this year, but this is the only one comes to mind as being obscure. It's entertaining. There's a chapter about ferrets.

Sorry, but this game didn't do it for me at all. There's a lot of waiting, and the action is monotonous and rather slow. It looks like you handled lag and damage flawlessly, so I'm voting Meh, leaning toward No.
So, how many SMS games are there left for me to work on? :D

Yeah, a bit sloppy. You missed a shot on Bowser, among other things. Not a big deal for a concept demo, I suppose, but some dancing while waiting for a koopa to pick his ass up and crawl across the screen would have been a plus. It's a good hack though, and the movie was definitely entertaining so I'ma bust a Yes vote up on this mofo.

I always liked this run, but it's better having been shortened. A lot better. :)
