From scratch, I think. I really like the concept art Yoshitaka Amano made for the game, and would want to express that as faithfully as possible. Edit: It's the weekend, so I buckled down and did a rough bit of what I'm conceiving as a transform animation. The moral of the story is: hands and feet are HARD! :p

I've had it in my head for some time that I ought to try making Esper Terra from FF6 as a KoF character, which is without a doubt the most awesomest idea evar.

Thanks for the link. Maybe I'll give it a shot...

The reason is because the L+R glitch looks cheap and takes away much of what makes the NES version great.
The constant, shrill p-ringing? :/ I don't expect an answer to that sarcastic remark, but I honestly don't understand why an L+R glitch would be worse in this case.

As Xipo said , the lag of 2-player is much much much much big! And it's the most problem of this 2-player-run . I think , no matter faster or slower than the published movie . 2-player-run MUST be more wonderful than 1-player-run . Just Do it !
My thoughts exactly. ...Well, not exactly, but that's the gist of it. If a 2-player run is entertaining (and it probably is) then go for it if it pleases you, Xipo!

I voted yes because I was entertained almost the entire time. I also like the long route through bowser's castle, and the things we don't see in other runs. It should probably be rejected anyway, if a more complete/efficient run can be done. (With MOAR dancing.)

Start a movie playing, and load a snapshot/savestate when not in "read only" mode. You can toggle read only mode by pressing shift+8. ...and as long as I'm babbling like Peppy from Star Fox, to barrel roll, press Z or R twice! ;)

Has anyone heard the soundtrack to "AAHHH!! Real Monsters"? I don't know who Greg Turner is, but he does the best Danny Elfman impression I've ever heard.

That was pretty decent. Possibly rewatchable. Weak yes.

Good effort, but even if the run is (or were) optimal, I don't think the game is TAS-worthy. No vote.

Awesome all the way to the end. I saw the partial version a few years ago, so a lot of this was not entirely fresh. Still a lot of fun stuff, though.

I made two Deus Ex glitch/inanity demonstrations. Not exactly crap-your-pants-fantastic, but I think they're one of a kind. First Second

A hypothetical question: while watching a TAS, you are fairly certain you hear the sounds of domestic abuse coming from the otherwise normal family that lives next door. You understand from past experiences that the legal system in your region is powerless to help in any way, and that informing the police will more than likely make things worse for the abused, put a bullseye on your own head, your home, car, mother, younger siblings, etc. Decisive action is required, nonetheless. What do you do?

I like this game a lot, but I don't know if a run of it would be publishable. An "aims for shortest time" speedrun has never interested me for the reasons mmbossman gives, but the game engine could be interesting to watch in an entertainment run, like RCR. Voting no.

and I plan to select tiger. Is it odd?
Judging from the FCM, using Tigers might make the game too easy. IMO, you should use the "canonical" characters Riki and Kunio. I other words, I recommend making heavy tradeoffs of time for entertainment.

Fatal Fury 2 and at least half of the King of Fighters games have great soundtracks, with Geese Howard's theme being a personal favorite.
Joe Higashi's theme from Fatal Fury Special rocks my socks. "OK OK HAHAHA!" Weird. It's neat to see the Pokemon series get some love. I don't like the games, but a lot of the music in the GBA series is good. Especially Ruby/Sapphire- look up "suterarebune".

This topic already exists. It's a good topic. We should revive it.
Super Mario Sunshine
Gotta love that a cappella thing they did with the original SMB theme...

Don't say jconserv, they just shut down. So... my old forum is dead, I need a new forum maker, perhaps one that can handle some sort of 'money system*'?
Judging from what you've told us, it sounds like you want proboards.

Fabulous work. Keep it up, you crazy bastard. :) Randil: You need to use the reset-record version for this movie. It should be marked v10, IIRC.

I've seen surfing ninjas, but I don't think I've ever seen ninjas surfing on tigers. Nothing special, but pretty good for its length. Yes vote.

If the game lags badly, 2 players might not be worth the better boss fights.
I don't think it's nearly that bad, though I should whip up a more optimized comparison to be sure. That said, I don't want to be a negative nancy and ruin Solon's fun by harping on this point. TASer's prerogative uber alles.

1. There's a dash?
To dash, tap left or right twice.
2. Two players wouldn't speed the game up significantly (if at all) due to considerable inuvlnerability time on the bosses so far, plus coordinating two sets of controls would be a nightmare.
I'm not sure about that. The X-attack does 3 points of damage, compared to the regular attacks' 1 point. Two players means more of those attacks... I assume that the attack animation doesn't exceed the invulnerability time.
3. I tried bunnyhopping up the wall in your screenshot, and it didn't seem as fast as regular climbing. I'll check it again later.
I probably should have mentioned, you have to be standing a pixel or two to the left before jumping. Looking into these things, I made an exceedingly half-assed smv of the first level.

Nice to see someone take this game up. I've often thought it would make a good TAS... albeit on 2-player, since you can control them simultaneously for great justice. Otherwise it's kinda mediocre. A few notes. Am I going completely senile, or are you are you not dashing? I'm pretty sure you should jump to avoid climbing, like so: ...And use two players. :) Does Hard make the movie less interesting in some way?

The "Press start"-pauses or the "Let go of the left/right button"-pauses? As for the start-pauses, I just did those when I had to to get the right weapons (I.e. the snowboard can not go down the pipes), and the "let go of left/right" when I had to avoid an enemy, like the rocks, and the stupid spider in the crystal world.
Ahh. I meant the former. Thanks for the answer.

Cool. Colorful, non-linear, and mildly retarded like Clash at Demonhead, and the music didn't even make my ears bleed. I'm kinda curious, was there anything special about the timing of the pauses? Like nullifying momentum, or somesuch?
