I think the first step is for someone (maybe someone who's beaten the game 20 times ;)) to do a "benchmark" run. The current non-TAS run is apparently a little over 9 hours, so if someone were able to beat it in about 8, that would give everyone else something to shoot down... er, shoot for.

That was pretty cool. I didn't think Fei Long would beat Zangief, much less with a 13 hit combo. Yowza. I might redo the movie if I ever remember why I did it in the first place. It was probably the half-lucid byproduct of some convoluted scheme that didn't pan out.

A SSF-TNC (U) tournament. Me versus myself. It would be less retarded an idea if I didn't suck so much at street fighter. :D WHO WILL WIN!?

Does anyone else run into the problem of the emulator staying in memory after you close it?
I'm starting to think so. It tends to crash if I open it 3 or 4 times without rebooting. Edit: Switching to fullscreen mode also does it quite often.

I'm optimistic, but I have my doubts that this would make a good run. So, I made a silly demo of the first 2 levels. Any interest in seeing more of this?

Ha! Poor megaman! That floor zip in fireman's level did not look fun for him.

If you can't see the google ads, you probably have it blocked in your c:\windows\HOSTS file. I didn't know. But, now that I do, I think I might take a few minutes and try to earn the site half a penny.

Yeah, that's the old version. I can't even get it to compile without downloading old versions of mingw and nasm and all that. I don't think it's worth the trouble when we can just modify mame, which already supports practically everything, and is open source.

It doesn't look like the Evo team has released their sourcecode. At least, I couldn't find it anywhere. It would be hard to do anything without it.

Where did you find that?

Jeez. This one kinda fell by the wayside, didn't it? It's not the best game ever made, but I think this movie gets the most out of what's there. ...Or at least as much as could be expected for a game as obscure as this. Voted yes- a week ago.

I'll definitely be looking forward to this. Tried a few times, but never made it to the end. Good luck (again.)

You mean the technodrome? I thought that was always in the same place... Anyway, you could try using the cheat function in FCEU to look for the address that would tell you which path the game has chosen. If you make 3 different savestates, where each savestate has one of the different paths, you should be able to compare in the "add cheat" function in FCEU and eventually get the address of where the information is stored in memory. I'd do it myself, but you'd theoretically need to play through the game up to level 5 at least 3 times just to find out where the right memory address. The debugger or memory viewer should be able to tell you if you got the right value or not when starting a new game to actually record. Does that make sense?

It's not bad, but not new or interesting, either. It seems way too easy so far. Maybe use the '?' to de-upgrade your ship? It's easier to be creative and entertaining when you actually need to use the Options and the different weapons, and plan to be in certain places at certain times in order to kill everything/stay alive.
please notice particularly around frame 13730 ;)
Yes, that was pretty good. :D Ahem... Now, I certainly shouldn't be saying this in a thread specifically about Gradius, but I think you ought to consider running a different game, like Darius Twin for the SNES, or Crying for the Genesis. They're 2-player, the graphics and sound are better, and unlike Gradius, not everyone has seen movies of them already.

It's important that the people learn about Noid, and why he ruins pizzas. It was a good movie, overall, and Foda's got some nice rhythm in that last level. And then there's this: I mean, what the hell IS that?! Oh well. Yes vote.

RnRR (say it out loud; it's funny) doesn't seem to have any useful glitches. Though, the BM game doesn't seem as solidly programmed. It just looks like there's more to potentially exploit. So I wouldn't be too surprised if there were TAS'ers launching themselves through walls before the end of the month. :D

I liked it. Kind of a shame that there were only a couple weapons used, but I don't suppose anything could be done about that without wasting a lot of time... I don't know if Jyzero's suggestions would have saved more than a handful of frames, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

I made a quick and dirty demo of the first level. It's also laggy, but damn, looks like it could be a lot of fun, doesn't it? If no one else is interested, I might take it up myself.

Is it my imagination, or was red guy trying to SODOMIZE blue guy near the end of level 1? It cracked me up, and I'm still laughing. Yes vote.
