It appears both me and fsvgm777 failed to catch this, but the given time for this movie is not correct. The game runs at 50fps but it’s being timed as if it’s 60fps. This is the case for both the site and in bizhawk. Even adding “PAL 1” into the header file does not fix the issue, I’ve written a ticket for this issue here: https://github.com/TASVideos/BizHawk/issues/2684 Once a fix is in place I’ll be replacing the encodes to show the correct time.

I tried running this movie file in the publication in PCEjin, and it didn’t play inputs back probably, it was just pressing random buttons on every frame. The submission file didn’t have this happen, so I’m wondering if something happened to the file in the publication process. So far this is the only PCE movie I know that does this.

I only said that because both previous publications ended input right as one of the characters enters the concert. So I wasn’t sure what would be preferable for this game specifically

Getting on the stage doesn’t require too much in question, all I need to do is pick up the pizza from the couch using Butthead to use as bait for the fishing pole, getting the cat. The problem is those security guards are next to impossible to get past with the current health I ended with (they will both die in one hit). I would have to do some routing to get health pickups, but I didn’t know about this ending until after this was submitted.

PAL runs at a slower 50fps, compared to Japanese NTSC being 60fps

My first thought would be that this movie was made on fceux then converted to the bk2 format, and it just so happens that the one lag frame wasnt emulated in fceux but it is in bizhawk. I could be wrong though, but that’s maybe an explanation for it. Edit: I just noticed the Temp encode has the FCEUX input reader at the bottom, which makes me fully confident it was converted to bizhawk but wasn’t tested for sync. Which honestly I can understand since some of the movies do sync between both emulators.

That’s fair, it’s just for GBA DKC2 specifically, I don’t think the warps in worlds 1 and 2 take up so much of the run that it would make the TAS any more entertaining, showing off these stages would probably be more beneficial in a 102% TAS
