I see what you mean. It's pretty easy for someone to get carried away with thinking of the positive outcomes of such ideas, but never taking time to think of the cons because they are not happy thoughts. Sometimes that even leads to your idea not feeling like the best idea, which is a good thing.
I still struggle with restraining myself, especially when it's about something I'm passionate about, whether it's TASing, making videos, talking with friends, etc. There are some things that I know I should restrain myself with, but my excitement gets the best of me. I think I've gotten better at restraining myself over the years, though it still sometimes slips.
What I've actually done recently to help me is I created a private twitter account, where I can just rant about anything I feel would be too much for others to listen to. It has really been a good way for me to vent without having to DM someone in particular. Anyone that chooses to follow that twitter account can respond with their thoughts if they have something to say. But really the whole purpose of such an account is for me to SAY SOMETHING, and this way it doesn't intrude on anyone.
Sometimes we all need to yell into a pillow if we are feeling angry or energetic, we don't wanna scare others away just because we have lots of energy that we don't yet know how to control. and yes, it definitely takes experience to learn how to cope with it.

I got bored and wanted to see if I could resync the current publication to bizhawk. I got past the stage with the spikey pillers before I gave up with the boss directly after that. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/62899378081657479
I had to edit some of the inputs near the end to get past some things, and I discovered a clip through the last breakable wall at the stage, it happens around frame: 29100
was this already known that you can skip past that wall without blowing it up?

I'm legitimately confused why this topic even exists, haven't we already gone over this in this thread?. heck, when I provided screenshots for this thread, I was only focusing on the title screens since they looked better with BizHawk GBA pallets, but I soon realized (and I mentioned this in that thread) that it doesnt look good for actual gameplay, and makes it darker than usual. I dont want that to happen with GBC as well, and I feel like the pallet is fine as it is. It's not as annoying as FCEUX's pallet.

Alright, now that we know it's faster than Chatterbox's run, we have to now compare with illayaya's and pirohiko's wip. since both runs use USA and all characters are named A, I dont have to change much.

The biggest difference is in illayaya and piro's wip, they get a cookie from the sister, and they dont get the cheeseburger until after the onett skip. when they enter the ghost town, sharpRui36 gets to the first zombies faster than illayaya & pirohiko.
I am unsure if the route is the same after the point where the WIP ends, I dont know if money has to be withdrawn from the bank like it was in this submission. it seems like you can get the needed items from selling both the burger and the cookie. I do fear that this isnt going to be an easy fix. Just from making both comparisons, I can tell that RNG is a major factor in this game. There's actually alot that is going on in this run than what people might think.

A few things I should mention, I cut out alot of the longer cutscenes and didn’t include the ending after the credits, since the whole point is to see if this is faster in main gameplay. Which it appears so, once you remove any reagional differences. However I also removed every battle, including the Gigias battle, because realistically factoring out every battle for language differences is next to impossible to do.
Now while it is faster. I would like to point out nearly 275 frames were lost during the walk to Gigias, as the sandwich wasn’t consumed to get there faster. I don’t know why this happened but would like an explanation from the author.
Either way, this confirms that the run is faster in gameplay.

It should apply to both versions of Snes9x-rr. Even some later ones if I’m not mistaken.
Codecs really are just different ways of comprehension, they don’t exactly change quality that much, even on not sp great computers. Most publishers use Lagarth Lossless Codec.

Technickle, this has happened too many times where you submit movies that are still suboptimal and easily improbable by spike. Is there a reason for this? Are you spending enough time making your movies? Are you struggling with anything in terms of the tools you use? Despite the hostility being exhibited in this thread, there are people around here that can help you learn how the tools work or some tips in optimization. However, If you keep this up, you are going to lose your submission privileges eventually. I would rather you try to learn something from all of this, but I’m not seeing it here. If you need help, just ask for it.

It looks pretty optimized. The problem with most puzzle games is unless you understand how puzzles work, it’s sometimes hard to follow along. So while I applaud the author for the optimization on this game, I’m gonna give it a meh vote.
