Looking at the inputs in TAStudio, it's pretty evident to me that this run was made with real time inputs, as the author was mashing the button on the main hub. The movement in the levels feel a bit more like there was rewind involved, and the tools available in BizHawk were not used. There's even a moment in the yellow switch room where Mario never starts running at maximum speed, which loses a significant amount of time, and makes me wonder if this was the case for other levels as well. Run semble bien optimisé. J'ai remarqué quelques endroits où vous avez retardé le swing, apparemment trop longtemps, mais j'ai réalisé très rapidement que c'était intentionnel, sinon vous ne pouviez pas atteindre certains écarts avec le mouvement de swing. Je peux également voir un ennui malheureux avec ce jeu, c'est d'obtenir les 3 cristaux avant de quitter chaque étape, surtout si vous faites un saut vertical pour la vitesse. Quoi qu'il en soit, cela ressemble à un très bon effort. J'apprécie toujours quand vous trouvez ces jeux plutôt obscurs chez TAS.

How come you changed into different characters for the last 2 fights? I'm unaware of the ins and outs of Mortal Kombat and I knew there was a feature that let you swap fighters mid fight, but I thought that was from using a cheat code. Or are you able to use that ability without cheats in this game?

I very much enjoyed this. I had a feeling the window glitch you found awhile back would have come up here, but I didn't expect it to be as exploitable as it was here. Using the pushback of the plane to mess with the game's window counter was a pleasant surprise. The rest of the movement in this is also very fun, although it's such a shame that the entirety of the Mode 7 stage was cut out, but that skip is still pretty entertaining to see regardless. Everything here looks as optimized as it can, I don't see many places that look improvable.

I took one look at the thumbnail of the encode and assumed this was a game involving the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fighting against clones of Shredder. I am unfortunately disappointed such a game doesn't exist.

So I wasn't sure why jumping was only done near the end of some stages as you seem to get a good speed boost, but when I looked at the inputs I found that the jump speed builds up overtime the longer you run for, so it seems to only be worth doing at the height of that speed. Especially since you pause for a second when landing. Also I assume you can't jump in the shop areas so that explains why it wasn't done there. I did find it interesting that you don't have to hold down the directional button when sprinting, meaning the character can still run to the left and right with virtually no input. I was confused at first at how the character was moving at all, but I eventually figured it out. Also the jump speed I mentioned above? That doesn't matter anymore after awhile because MY MAN IS ZOOMIN. I guess somehow buying a bunch of swords made this guy run extremely fast, and also teleporting? Honestly I wasn't paying attention to all the shopping so I must have missed the part where my man learned instant transmission. Now since RNG seems to be a big part of this game, and minor improvement to some areas may not be worth it if it means different enemy behavior (which was mentioned by the author in the submission text). But even so, I can't see anything that looks sloppy or at least improvable. One of the boss fights though had a 74 frame wait time before moving to the next room, which I assume was RNG manipulation, as when I removed that the following enemies didn't sync with the inputs. Also as a note, the attack the TAS does to bosses is not spamming the attack button, that's just what happens when you press the attack button with that weapon.

Optimization seems good here, I was taking note at how long it took for the pins to stop moving after the strike to see if the next frame starts after the pins stop moving, but it seems to be on a set time from what I can tell, so really the only optimizations needed here are to get quick strikes.

Optimization seems good. I wanted to check and make sure you didn't lose any time when jumping up some of the slopes near the beginning but they don't seem to slow you down, possibly because of the jumping, but the whole game seems to be very basic in general with very few things slowing down the player. I'm not sure how this game determines the letters you have to select after each level, but trying to manipulate faster levels may not be that easy without risking losing a few frames, and the letter selects are done very fast regardless.

So judging from a quick look, it seems everything has been manipulated as optimally as one could get. Kevin has a strange ability to put himself into a position where the bad guys, try as they might, cannot get to Kevin. This gives him enough time for his family to return home so the bad guys can be unable to win. Since movement can screw with enemy AI, doing even the slightest change can make the whole run impossible. It doesn't really matter what weapons were used here (since none are used at all anyways, in fact I'm not sure if Kevin was really doing anything now that I think about it), The goal is just to get Kevin into a state where he is safe from the bad guys by somehow standing on table and staying at home because Kevin finally realized he's just a kid and wouldn't be able to take on two adults with weapons (although his mom is gonna kill him when she finds shoe-prints on the nice clean table). Although I'm not sure why one of the bad guys was so insistent on tap dancing in front of Kevin the entire time. The other bad guy seems to have the better idea of just looting the house and ignoring the kid. After a certian point the other guy just leaves while the other one is still tap dancing. It's not that it's a bad dance it's just I don't get the artistic expression, especially when you only had an audience of 2 people and one of them left halfway through the performance. Regardless of the sick dance moves of the one bad guy, I think this is a great effort that may not be easily beaten.

It doesn't really matter what weapons were used here (since none are used at all anyways), The goal is just to get Kevin into a state where he is safe from the bad guys by somehow convincing the robot to let him clip through walls so the badguys can't get him. Although I'm not sure why the bad guys are so insistent on catching Kevin since I don't think even he can escape, the bad guys can just easily steal from these houses at this point but they are so insistent on catching Kevin that they forgot what they were doing. Regardless of the unexplained motivations of the bad guys (not to mention the futuristic setting), I think this is a great effort that may not be easily beaten.

Regardless of the unexplained powers Kevin has here, I think this is a great effort that may not be easily beaten.
