There was a TAS for this made back in 2011 but was done using the windows version with hourglass. if anyone is going to take this game up, this is probably the best run to compare to, as it's the closest we have to a real TAS.

I have just tested this to see if it would sync on lsnes and with success it worked. I did try with the all bosses but it desyncs at the beginning of the conservatory unfortunately.

Personally I see no reason why a true 100% should include getting the lower teir items like sword upgrades, the end result is going to be the exact same will all items and max upgrades, and the highest upgrade does not require the previous ones to be obtained first.
So to make a TAS for this game gather those items as well just seems arbitrary. As long as you get what would be considered everything in the game (all items, all dungeons, max upgrades, etc), I see no reason to require the collection of such items that won't be seen after the fact. if there was a TAS that does this, then I'd argue that a branch for this just be "Completionist".

Try to use 00FFE056 (4 byte; Signed).
It is not exactly ingame timer, but this address is changed every in-game frame. So by counting amount of changes (Ram Search show it) you can have kind of in-game timer for this game.
I actually interestingly got the opposite effects with this value. instead of counting the ingame frames it counts the in game lag frames. but this made me figure that there should be a value that counts the very opposite.
turns out it's the very first address (0000, but 00FF0000 on gens). this counts the ingame frames but ignores any frames for loading or lag during gameplay. I even tested to make sure the values would be the same at certain points before you got control of Rick, and they match the ones on gens. so I think it's safe to assume that address 0000 is the one I'll need. For jumping on the normal thick stationary platforms in most stages, one frame can be saved every two jumps by manipulating the Y position. For the thin (eg. there are many reasons why they could be abandoned, one could be the author isnt working on it due to being demotivated, or if they are still working on it but havent posted updates recently, TASing should not be a quick and easy thing to do. they are projects that can take a long time to properly do. anyone who has actually done a tas before will tell you that it's not as easy as doing a speedrun.

probably because some people choose to work on tases on their own, and splicing the inputs may not always work if the game isnt hex friendly. It's also imo very shitty to take someone's inputs without first asking for permission from the original author first. The author of the WIP not being active is a whole different story.
