One thing to keep in mind when doing a TAS of this game is that nobody has been able to complete the entire game with 33 million points stacked up by the time life extended bonus scores are payed out. using normal top scores as an example 4300000 6353580 - 10653580 7951960 - 18605540 7826180 - 26431720 5902540 - 32334260 We'll need to scrounge up an additional 700k in points to get the life extend for 33 million points. if we can do that we're guaranteed an additional 500,000 point bonus for each life which would bring the total score to the theoretical maximum points for the game of 37.5 million... which WIZ mentioned years ago that 37 million points would be the theoretical maximum. So it would be pretty rad to actually pull it off.

Yes keep up the good work! I love the way you attacked the chain at the 1:35 that was magical.

I always assumed lookdown was faster because if geometry is not in line of site geo in the distance can be unloaded and thus improve framerate.

awesome video time on archives! so happy work is going back into goldeneye. also i'm kind of an outcast on this debate about downward look strafing ... i for one already know the game inside and out and would prefer the downward look. im more interested in seeing the game beaten as fast as possible.

On console runs this would mean (1/6)^5 chance of getting all hostages to escape this fast(excluding the quick deaths on takers).
So does this mean granted a console player is skilled enough would only have a 1 in 7,776 chance to get them to escape this fast?

Do the games have to be in .iso format or can you run a retail game from your cd/dvd drive? I have ikaruga for GCN, and wanted to give it a shot through the emulator. EDIT: Nevermind i got it working, also i'm going to do some research Ikaruga being my favorite game of all time, will try my best to build a TAS esque run of that game, after doing my research about how it was pulled off in the super smash realm.

Can we get a side by side caparison to the new run and RTs old run as far as frame rate goes? Or are they posted and I've been sleeping? -_-

I'm not too sure if this is possible, but is there a way to alter the emulator to upscale or convert the video signal to HD 720 or 1080p? or does that happen automatically when you full screen or what not? I'm just curious because we do a lot of publishing here, and wondered if we could ever publish movies that are HD.

That is amazing work and awesome, but I gotta be the guy who says... Now, can we get it for the dreamcast? I'd love to do Ikaruga.

paskey13 From your description i'd say you only watched the first couple levels of the goldeneye run. yeah it has a couple levels like that but to call it the most boring run on the site. even if it's your opinion is completely flawed. Sure you're entitled to it. But you can look just as respectable with your head up your ass as well.

is this true jack? you will end your run after the cradle? I think you should do the last two levels... you've already come this far. might as well finish it off.
