I support the posting of TAS videos on youtube. ridiculous to claim otherwise. just an example: rising tempest / Jack, does it. labels them correctly. and gets very positive feedback. To think we need an elitist attitude or hide our work from the major public in fear that they "will never understand" what they are looking at, is far and large an incongruous argument. jesus christ on a pogo stick

i remember reading on the back of an Ikaruga box; it said. In the midst of the turmoil and tumult of battle there lies organization and yet no organization at all.... something like that. either way. it pretty much describes your tactic going on there in the mainframe room. sometimes you can pull some objective completions outa yer butt i guess.

perhaps i've missed this earlier but could you explain the 2.3 glitch? and I'm sure so long as you don't destroy the turret gun in the mainframe room you could just shoot the mainframes several times without fully destroying them and by the time you leave that room the turret will have blown them up for you.... I've seen this technique used before. although i'm not fully sure if it would help or hurt your time. it also appears like you got hung up on the wall leaving the ammo room too

For sure. I'll be monkeying around with this for awhile and hopefully in the next month or so depending on results i'll get a website up and running. I'm thinking Tightenupdagrafix.net or something. ::EDIT:: I have gone ahead and sealed the deal for tightenupthagrafix.com I will be using the site to post progress on my venture.

could the higher res images be conked down enough to fit NES specifications? EDIT: I would plan on keeping the same palette sheets just with replaced images.

I know a lot of people have hacked Roms and moved level arrangements around. But what if you just want to replace the existing sprites from those in the game to ones of higher quality? What exactly is the bit depth and color count you can use when converting your own higher rez images to NES and ROM compatible sprites? I thought it would be a cool side project for me to play around with considering I'll be graduating from college next week. The method I would take is simply use the existing sprites as reference and model every element in XSI and then make a render that will take the existing sprites place. As long as I make sure it will be compatible. Is this possible?

I hope this doesn't go the way of Goldeneye, just to be picked up later after several months... that was agonizing! Keep on track we are all rooting for you!

I greatly disagree that TAS TTs could harm the TT community... but perhaps this is due for an entirely new thread. It boggles my mind one would be so offended to have been outdone but a TAS he would stop TTing

Better, I can post explicit directions on how to perform it. 1)From a standstill, push A and B. Hold them for the remainder of the glitch. 2)When your speed tops off, begin a slide, holding the control stick to the left. 3)Do not try to charge a mini turbo. Instead, hold the control stick to the right. After a delay, you will veer to the right and stop sliding. 4)Drive an arbitrary distance (while holding A and B). 5)Repeat steps 2-4. Your smoke should be yellow when you start the slide. You now have a stored mini turbo 6)Repeat steps 2-4 again. Your smoke will start off red, and you will be able to perform a mini turbo as soon as you start sliding.[/i]
Better, vidz or it didn't happen?

Voting yes because it improves the existing run. Great work on that :)

If that's there for the reason I think it is, that's not cool :(
Agreed. Claiming "perfection" in the TAS world means you have given up on achieving perfection... I vote meh.

entertainment is acheived through see how fast a game can be beaten. I can't really seperate the two. so pure speed should be the paramount goal. but on topic... how is the progress?

i don't want to go against disregarding the fact that all the info you would find in the zip file is on the site but I would like to see nfo files packed with the torrents... it's just cooler. gives each submitter their own identity.
