yes, this zones are already part of the full TAS. I think the save state is good, I use marzojr newgame+ savestate for gens 11b, I only changed the name xD
I'm not sure how much the total score will be, I do not plan to add it for now, I prefer to keep that in expectation, but I estimate it will be around 1,500,000 for give a number. Most ACTs will surely exceed 500+ rings for the giant rings
And thanks for the tip about ICZ, I am always watching your ring-attack minutely to be aware of the ring counter.
Checking all the zones, I think Sonic and Tails can grab all rings in every zone, except for 2 mutually exclusive singpost monitors in ICZ1 - and AIZ 2 KTE rings and 3 exclusive rings in SS KTE final battle
thanks man, I think there are 77 giant rings in total if I remember

Don't forget those 3 rings above the triple monitor chamber near the end of CNZ1, by the gravity pads and wheel. There's no line drawn to them.
Here's those files.
I know, press Ctrl + Z by accident.
Thanks for the routes too man, but I have doubts with ICZ2 one, Sonic can't pass trough the bridge by the up+carry glitch, I tested that. This forced me to do a different route, what do you think?

And.. well, TASing a Sonic game here I did see how really broken the game is, but it's fun at the same time :P

Well, without counting my semi-tas route check, this level takes me around 10/15 hours and 6000 rerecords. My TAS session have a duration about 1/4 hours depending on the day and my disposition this zone takes me 5 days to TASing it (not counting my semi-tas test run of course)

Also, you mentioned doing a difficult rings video tutorial. I think that's a great idea (why didn't I ever think of that?) and I encourage you to do it, when you get a chance. As for me, I'm now thinking about getting to work on a written rings guide - everything anyone could possibly want to know about S3K's rings - that I feel should exist by now on the internet, not because anyone will ever read it, which I'm sure they won't, but simply just because. Maybe I'll put it on GameFAQs... someday. In the meanwhile, I'll be happy to share what materials I have with you soon, as I said.
A complete ring guide with video/descriptions sounds good, I really do not have much experience compiling videos with each other but sometimes I record some videos and I leave them in YT in case I lose the GMV
ExampleLink to video
I could make a playlist of how to grab the "unreachable/knuckles" rings in S3K as Sonic+Tails, I can record CNZ1 (Knuckles rings), ICZ2 (Sky rings), DEZ1 (gravitation rings and hidden room), SOZ1 - I have a video how to grab the 3 rings in the walls, but I do not know the step by step to do it, LRZ1 (Knuckles rings), LRZ2 (Knuckles rings - I have some ideas with the route including a bonus stage-bubble shield, but first I have to do some tests and then develop the route), FBZ1 (capsule rings, but I think is easy for 2 players), as example.
I know there are more "hard" rings but now they are the ones that I remember.
Edit: planned route for CNZ 1 = http://www.mediafire.com/view/8vohjiu32c5l9ni/CNZ1-ST-route.png#

Thanks man, to be honest I also get dizzy when I see it in real time beyond knowing what I did XD, this TAS is really brain-exploding
Other thing: If you have already pre-planned routes in other zones in you old notes, feel free to share them, all help is welcome :D

Kaan55 made a ring attack run in LBZ2 with S+T
Link to video
He resetting the boundary with the bonus stage to enter later en Knuckles area, as you can see, he got the bubble shield with the signpost monitors of the previous ACT to survive Knuckles path
Edit: Replaced old run with a better improved

I did a RTA test in MGZ2 and Theyogwog route don't interfere with the wall in the roof in KTE path, still non-solid, so yeah is possible 100% rings in MGZ 2 as S+T without manipulate the wall luckily
TheYogWog,
I think one of the reasons of you being slower is that you stay still on ground too much when the camera is scrolling vertically, it moves a lot faster when you are in air. It makes sense to land onto the ground closer to the moment when the object begins interacting with you.
Yes, thats 1 of the things I fixed, other improvement is the ground strance at 0:49 (I discovered it accidentally and very usefull to use it here) and better use of Tails - 1:15 as example: tails grab the 3 rings down here, so do not waste time with the screen warp glitch.
and thanks HHS for the MGZ2 wall explanation, very useful!

If I understood well, while I not entering first Sonic's rising floor area the solid wall in the roof in Knuckles path still not solid? I did a test in real time and seems it works, I need to test the complete ring attack route in real time after TASing it
This is MGZ 1 S+T max rings run

too much rings for the hud :D, the real ring counter is 1046 rings.

I can't wait to see you TAS, are you considering on doing a complete ring attack in Sonic advance 1/2/3? It will be funny to see exploiting character physics in a max rings run in this games

Edit: forgot what I said before about MGZ2 gmv, It was a problem with sound settings causing desyncs, but I see that the invisible wall in the sky blocks you when activating the earthquake event, I think Kaan55's method is better, I suppose.
Oh. Well then. Disregard most of what I just said.
Although, I thought I tried it both ways, with and without triggering the earthquake, in my recent tests, and the wall was there both times. I think I started from the same save point at the end of Act 1, rather than loading directly into Act 2 from level select. If Act 1 earthquakes affect this, somehow, that could be a problem. It might not matter, for all I know, but if you can, perhaps you should find out how Kaan55 got to Act 2...
I try a test playing MGZ1 by activating some events (faces, drills, spins, boss), and surprisingly the wall in ACT 2 was not solid and I can pass trough him, I'm not sure how this wall is trigger, but I think it's an ACT2 event that activates it.
Marzo once said that MGZ 1/2 use the same address / values in their events, but I'm not sure which specifically activates the wall in the rooft in ACT2.
btw I have to do more research.

Thanks man, this will be very useful for me in the future, luckily your gmv does not desync, maybe you could record your MGZ2 gmv? that was deync for me.
I have this attemp made by Kaan55, showed me how to grab MGZ2 KTE rings. (he recorded ICZ2 too)
Link to video
But IDK if is more faster or slower than your gmv for the desync problems
And this is my HCZ1 TAS

Amazing, now I see is possible to destroy the monitor, now Im not sure but I think I'll have to go back 2 times when I spindash next to 1 monitor I go back above of the ground, if under 1 level less I can jump and destroy 1, then I have to go back and repeat.
Link to video
When I can I'll do a video compilation of how to grab all the rings.
Now you could tell me how to grab the 6 rings of Knuckles in LBZ1 please?, or if I have to fight against the sonic or knuckles boss
Edit: when Tails has the slope glitch in SO1, the slope glitch is gone when Tails appear in the screen or when the sand wall is destroyed making impossible what you said

I have done my own search too and I noticed that in DEZ1 there is a room closed by some spikes and inside the room there are an invincibility and 2 monitors rings.
I'm testing and as I can see is impossible to enter in this room with "normal" ways, the entrence is blocked by spikes and a invisible object inside the wall.
I have to explore more the zones, this TAS will be a headache and long I hope I can finish it someday, I do not like to leave things in the air

Probably emerald stage is what I confused with the bonus stages? The former doesn't look avoidable at all?
Emerald stage (blue spheres) are not avoidable, except using a newgame+ as Sonic/Tails/Knuckles but I think a newgame+ with Knuckles It would not be so different than its any%. Maybe a Tails new game+ will be more interesting, but I don't have enought knowledge with Tails for now, I can't do it like Aglar or Marzo.

If my english is correctly he means about doing the Super trasformation if is possible to save time like the newgame+.
I think Marzo would be better if he clarified it.

What I'm noticing is, in this submission and in Knuckles any%, Knuckles is disappearing in some places, making the camera scroll to catch up (I only watched up to Hydrocity, it happened twice so far). How is that effect called and what exactly happens there? I know that in any% it's the underflow thing, but what is it here? And what amount of it is used in any%?
This trick is called "Zip" you can got an acceleration of 8180 sub-pixels and get out the walls with these speed, the max speed of the camera is 6144 spx in Sonic 3 and 4096 spx in Sonic 1/2, giving that effect that the camera is slower sometimes.
And the underflow glitch consist in: you need to go with a celeracion of 4300+ spx on the left side of the level, if you are successful you will be teleported at the end of level, is not necessary to use the zip to do it ( example: you can see Chemical plant 1, Knuckles in Sonic 2 TAS)
In my opinion: If you see that the movie is very little entertaining or things like that, you can leave it in Vault in case someone in the future wants to improve it. (like a 100% glitchess for example), but well, it's your decision.
