Would be faster if you regroup the enemies in the same spot and kill them at the same time..?
Anyway, this game looks interesting and is one of my childhood games, maybe I will start to work in a 2P run in the future.

Can explain the "accuracy" differences between Gens and Bizhawk in a genesis Sonic game please?
Besides of that, we need someone to port STT to biz before and there are a few tasers that are on Linux afaik, they can't use bizhawk
And stop telling us that bizhawk > gens, please, seriously, we know, someday we will, It makes me sick to be reminded every 5 minutes

This is a new MHZ2 boss strat, moving Tails to hit robotnik off-screens save some time in the auto scrolling section, and with some slot manipulation with dust particles you can let spawn the capsule buttom inside the boss fight, I don't have the tech details, but I think marzo can explaint the process better and get a more optimized fight

Since there are no normal ways to break that monitor I think it should not be taken in the current rings counter, but we could comment as a curious fact in the submission text.
Perhaps in early versions of S3 they had planned that both bosses drop a signpost (or maybe they has planned 3 ACTs with Knuckles?), but it's see that this idea was changed and they left residues of this in AIZ2, since in other levels there are no monitors like these.
This is just a theory.

There are some Sonic games that you can skip the score timing by pressing any button, for Example: Sonic mania, Adventures, Heroes, all modern games and even Genesis rom hacks.
But still aims for fastest completion, but in-game time.

Beautiful words Yog, thank you for this. I will definitely let you know when I upload this movie here, don't worry about it, this is also one of the biggest projects of my life and it means a lot to me (working almost 2 years on it), it really is satisfying to do this.
In a last attempt to optimize the movie a little more, I decided with kaan to redo MGZ and CNZ, this will be the last revision of the first zones so we hope to finish at the end of the month or at least the end of September.

What about updating movie publication descriptions too? to give a example Theyogwog's publication says that there is a Knuckles 100% by upthorn but this was obsoleted the last year, there is a Knuckles in Sonic 2 ring-attack too and the new Knuckles any%

That's only a visual effect of the booster, I keep 4096 sp/f holding [v] in spindash state until the bridge dissapear.
At 1:24 I need Tails to open the door because is closed from the other side, I Chose this path because the lazer bridge above the rings group is activated until 1:26. Given the circumstances of the bridge time it is faster to go down with both 2 characters, also because the lightning shield doesn't interact with the last ring of the bottom right, so Tails need to grab him.
Seeing that Tails is essential for the trick at 2:15, I don't lost time here because he is flying and the gravity machine stops him and can reach the ground faster, I keep it in moving at the first frame avaidable (for the circumtanses) always, Sonic is secondary here.
Indeed, Tails don't interact with some bumpers until Sonic let's load these on the screen, at 1:50-1:52 Tails activated the last switch of the right top, Using the lightning is the fastest way to collect the rings in this room, and I also have to manipulate and grab them fast because the abrupt movements of the camera can disappear from the orbit of the shield.

You just need to change the rom checksum in the script.
Goto: Sonic Hud -> Sonic -> common -> open with Notepad++ "rom-check.lua"

In this list you need to replace the checksum of the unsupported hack "0x299c" in one of the three in the image, if the hack is for S1 replace where is s1 ggfe, S2 = Sonic 2, s3 = S3&K
If you do it this well, Sonic HUD should work. And don't forget backup the checksums like in the image.

The hacks needs to offer a new content/gameplay to be fairly judged, here is a boss rush of the same style that's not be well received by the audiense in the past.
To be honest, I recommend you guys practice more optimization before present a serious submission here because the standards of Sonic TASing are very high currently. (Specially Twit)
Here is some tips: See frame-by-frame the any% runs to learn the basics. You can see the ring-attacks too, the levels are more explored and gives you another perspective than the any% runs
Enable Left+Righ input: Open gens - options - Input - Mark allow L+R/U+D -> This allow to press [L+R] and [up+down] at the same time.
Lear how to braking: In Sonic 3, you can start a spindash betwen 0-256 of acceleration, above an object you need to have 0 speed, if you have 127 of acceleration press [L+R] to have 128 and after that press [left+v] or [right+v] (depends of the direction you want the spindash) to have 0 speed instantly. In Sonic 2 you have to apply the last tip because you always need 0 acceleration to start a spindash in this games
S1 faster acceleration: Sonic has 24 sp/f of acc in the air, 12 sp/f walking. This is useful to get 1536 sp/f speed more faster, this tip works in all games. For example: at the beginning of a level do [L+R] = 128 sp/f -> [A] Long jump = +24 sp/f in the air.
Knuckles TAS tipsWall climbing: Starting on the wall use (A^)(<)(<)(<)(A)(A)()...repeat. This is nearly always the fastest way to climb single walls
Braking on objects: (B)(<)(<)(<>)(<v)(vA) (6 frames), is the fastest way to braking on objects if you don't have "128, 256, 384, 512, etc." speed.
Use Sonic TAS tools: This tool is esential to keep a good optimization level, just see this screen shot, see the difference?
Hud information is the following:
Lifes | X pixel possition : subpixel | Y pixel poss : subpixel
Continues | X Acceleration , Y Acceleration , Speed
Shield |[Next frame prediction]
Character Angle
About the hacks I don't think robotnik's plan B is a good choise for a submission (yes for practice/fun). Personally if you both want to work in a serious movie I have 3 hacks for my personal recommendation: Sonic 3 D.A Garden edition - Pantufa the Cat and Metal Sonic Rebooted. I was planning to start a run on one of this hacks, but you guys can chose one to work with it. Maybe the solidity display don't work in this hacks, but the sonic hud can be fixed adding the checksum of the hack. I hope this post will be helpful.

I think she refers to "plagiarism" because you only want to made a new movie only without brightness using Headshot inputs (and doing nothing new/relevant or saving frames) that is stupid for me, I'm not sure how much you know D64 but it can be incredibly dark 90% of the time. Of course after pasting the inputs you need to have a lot of luck to maintain the RNG of the game same as this movie (wich is a 3D game based on full RNG)

Thank you to give me the link, don't worry about DDZ I need to do it in our gmv anyway, because I need to use pause buffering to manipulate the rng of the rockets in the first phase of the boss, I'm sure that will be desynch instantly.
